I thought it might be a good idea to start posting how many viewers TNA and WWE get in the UK each week as a comparison to the US figures.

WWE Raw airing live on March 19 had 164,000 viewers

WWE Smackdown airing on March 23 had 85,000 viewers.

TNA Impact Wrestling airing on March 25 drew 171,000 viewers, losing 8,000 viewers from the previous week's show.
TNA's Victory Road PPV airing on March 28 drew 166,000 viewers.

Worth noting that TNA is on free tv and WWE is on subscription tv

I remember seeing the UK ratings six months ago and TNA was regularly doing well over 200k viewers. UK is definitely a strong market for them and the channel change worked out exceptionally well for them.

I believe TNA is Challenge's top rated show, which is not that suprising considering the rest of the content is mostly 80's/90's game shows lol.

TNA is challenges top rated show which is why they signed a contrat extension a few months back.

WWE Raw airing live on March 26 drew 227,000 viewers.

WWE Smackdown failed to reach the top 10 of any Sky Sports Channel's, so there are no figures.

TNA Impact Wrestling airing on April 1 drew 178,000 viewers.

That is a massive rating for a live show especially since it airs very late at night there. Isn't it on at something like 1am in the UK?

RAW is on at 2am, PPV's 1am and SmackDown's are unpredictable as fuck with them coming on from anytime from 9pm onwards.

227k people tuning in at 2am on subscription tv shows how dedicated the UK fans are.

Seeing these ratings it does surprise me that a UK based promotion hasn't succeeded, I know that there have been some popular ones but nowhere near as popular as they should be. There are plenty of wrestling fans in the UK so I would have thought that a high quality local product would draw well.

That's the thing, there's really no high quality local product. The shows draw good live crowds but their production kind of sucks.

Thats right you do get decent crowds but theres no company with the money to make it look good and don't think that there would be many channels risking a UK promotion as theres no way to tell how it would perform against the more established WWE and TNA.

Also the Raw rating was for the show after mania so thats probably got a lot to do with the high rating

That is a more realistic rating for RAW, Smackdown didn't do too bad either if you put the two ratings for the same show together, 143k tuning in is pretty close to what RAW gets.

This is good news. More incentive for TNA to pack their shit up and move to the UK.
