It's another classic TNA random gimmick match with zero build, but the hell with, I still love it.
Hoping it's MUCH BETTER than the Ultimate X last year @ BFG.
Btw, Davey lied they would have a tag title match, little prick.
It means Von Erichs vs ????
Lol welcome to the X-Division since 2010.
But comparing this to that Ultimate X is a little unkind. That Ultimate X didn't work because when you get an Ultimate X match, you expect acrobatics. You expect Blue bumps and amazing feats of athleticism. That didn't work for 2 main reasons...
1: While it had a bunch of "big names" in it... look at who they actually had:
-The post knee-injury version of Chris Sabin who was extremely protective of himself
-2 guys who people think are high-fliers who'll do crazy shit but really don't in Hardy and Aries
-The post buffet table version of Samoa Joe who Scott Steiner warned you not to stick in the Ultimate X since he's too fat for a normal match
-Manik
2: Lets be real here, TNA doesn't really have high-flying, chaotic matches any more. Outside of the much better tag matches TNA matches are very similar to the signature-spot laden WWE style now, and that style doesn't lend itself to anything good coming out of the Ultimate X. But we've seen that this can lead to good ladder matches many times, as the expectations for ladder matches is different than that of the Ultimate X.
As for the guys in there, there's 2 people who can deliver some athletic excitement in Manik and Tigre Uno, and Sanada is clearly no slouch either. The Wolves have already proven they could be great in the ladder match environment with that match against the Bromans, so 5/6 competitors can thrive in this environment while Crazzy Steve can do his best 2011 Eric Young impersonation somewhere in the corner.
That being said, I wouldn't expect this to be a GREAT match. I'm expecting it to be underwhelming given the talent of everyone in the match, but nothing that'll go on any "worst of all time" lists.
