UPDATE: PWInsider reports that the current word among those within TNA is that several episodes of Impact will be taped in mid-to-late November at the Impact Zone. This would lead to current planned or announced tapings to be either canceled or turned into house shows, depending on the specific market.

TNA is finalizing plans before they announce anything.

ORIGINAL: According to Pwinsider.com, TNA and Universal Studios have opened discussions regarding the promotion returning to the old Impact Zone in November to tape several episodes of Impact Wrestling. The word is that the company is looking to tape anywhere from four to six episodes of Impact during the week of November 21st.

The Impact Zone was located at Universal Studios Soundstage 21 in Orlando. At this time, the studio is being used as a Resident Evil haunted house for Universal's Halloween Horrors until November 2nd.

At this time there is no confirmation that a deal is official.

Yet another step backwards for TNA. I know it'll save them money in the long run, but going backwards once again isn't good for the company's image.

Just a matter of having no other choice, I guess. At least it gives them a little time to accumulate some more name recognition and stock in their up-and-comers before taking another whirl at it..

Yeah, this is definitely a step back for TNA. I feel as though if that is a pretty ongoing theme within the company though. It's the same thing that happened during their Monday night experiment. It seems as though if so much anticipation went into getting TNA out on the road, and now that it actually happened, they are not able to really turn a profit or get going with it. I feel like if they do go back to the impact zone it's only a matter of time before the company crumbles. It has no image and no worthiness in most eyes. And that's saying a lot from a guy who was always a huge TNA fan.

Yeah, it's a step back but I miss the Impact Zone. Why? I don't know, actually. Maybe I'm just sick of seeing TNA be in these nice sized arenas and can barely fill 1/3rd of it. Yeah, a lot of the people in the IZ really aren't fans (or going there to maybe become fans) but still. In the last few months, the IZ crowd really weren't all that bad and didn't annoy the fuck out of me like they did in 2010 when Hogan and Bisch came in.
