According to PWInsider.com, TNA has released X-Division wrestler Anthony Nese. The report notes that Nese wanted to work the Pro Wrestling Syndicate iPPV, which would have seen him in a tag match with Great Muta, however TNA wouldn't allow him to participate. They did say they would grant him his release, however, and he accepted.

I thought that they were allowed to work outside TNA, weird that he wasn't allowed to do it whilst under contract to TNA but maybe because it was an iPPV. Anyway, didn't see much in this guy but he always reminded me of Chris Masters.

What little I saw of him, I liked. He had a unique look as he was pretty cut, like you said reminded you of Masters, but also was small at the same time and was still in the X-Division weight requirement.

I don't see why he wouldn't be allowed to do it. From what I've read(Which is nothing about him) it didn't seem like he was used much.

It's the iPPV thing otherwise he probably have been allowed. However he hasn't done anything in TNA, really. He had a quick burst and just jobbed to other X guys when he would randomly appear. Yeah, also tagging with Muta would have been a bigger deal than anything he has done in TNA.

From the little I seen I liked hm if TNA had used him more he could have been a new challenger for Aries to face seeing how he is running out of x division opponents. Don't undestan why they wouldn't let him work the ippv it would give him exposure as well as ensuring they have some young talent

TNA usually always want a cut of outside shows I think, not to mention that this guy was going to be on an iPPV and not just some house show sorta thing.

TNA wrestlers can work for indy companies as long as it isn't an iPPV, a television show and I don't think that they can be included on any DVD releases either. It is quite restricted what they can do.

Shame for him that he had to quit in order to take advantage of this great opportunity but good on him for taking a chance and choosing a match with Muta against TNA not using him.
