Apparently, TNA has brought Don West back in order to try to push TNA merchandise. After watching this video, it seems more like Anthem wants to get rid of TNA merchandise. A lot of people are speculating right now that this might be because Anthem might do that TNA rebranding that a lot of us have talked about for a few years now. If you're changing the name of your company, it is a good idea to get rid of all of your old merchandise before you do it.

I think that makes sense. I'm really interested in seeing what direction it might go in. With Jeff Jarrett working with TNA again, I've seen some people talking about possibly merging TNA and GFW together, with GFW becoming the rebranded TNA. I don't really see this happening though. Merging the companies would effectively change the ownership of the company and I can't see Anthem doing that so soon after buying TNA to begin with.

Not only that, GFW has a bit of baggage right now. I mean, it doesn't have TNA level baggage, but still, I think the majority of people view GFW as the company that couldn't make it. So having it make it by changing TNA into GFW would just look pretty bad, I think.

I dunno what Anthem plans to do. But honestly, I am very interested. A new name could go a long way to easing some public perceptions of the company. I think a new look would be good too.

I dunno really. But I am happy to see Don West back. I have to say I am curious to see how this all plays out.

Also, it's just beyond cool to me that Jarret is back working with the company and Dixie is out. Tickles me to no end.

It is funny because a simple name/brand change can actually set the stage for them to regain fans again. I mean they do have fans but most wrestling fans don't pay attention to them anymore.

Agreed. A simple name change can really help to alleviate some of the negative impressions people have of the company. Especially a name change that comes after a change in ownership.

Do you have any idea what they will call it? I mean I never really watched it nor know a lot about the owners (past or present).

No, I don't have any idea. There is speculation that they might merge with GFW and use their name. I REALLY don't see that happening. That would almost be like Anthem making their company into Jeff's company.

Hmmm. It's a tough one. But I think whatever they come up with will serve the company better than TNA will at this point.

It's odd because Jeff and his father Jerry came up with the name, but I think at this point it is more associated with Dixie than anyone else.

Not that I was there...but I'm pretty sure that toilet bug Vince Russo
came up with the "TNA" name...and lied about it standing for Total
Nonstop Action...because he found it hilarious to name a wrestling
promotion "Tits & Ass" because he is a fucking idiot.

TNA should do a comic book style "reboot" with a new name, new title
designs and some new talent.

Now I will admit I only watch Decay, the Broken Hardy universe stuff and
the Knockouts via youtube...but...I do not want the company to go down
the toilet.

Hell...they could have Broken Matt DELETE!!! TNA and have a new
company and infrastructure spring up after that...make an entire
angle out of it?

Just thinking...

I know Russo has made that claim and it might be true. But even if he did come up with the name, it was still Jerry and Jeff that actually did the naming since it was their company. But even so, the name TNA at this point is more associated with Dixie Carter than anyone else... and of course she had nothing to do with the name originally.

Fair point...Either way...a "reboot" with a new name, new titles and new talent
would be the best option for them at this point...at least in my opinion.

Yeah, getting rid of the initials that lead people to accidentally buy PPV's by thinking they're buying porn is definitely a good thing.

I'm more disappointed that the rebranding of the TV show to "Impact Wrestling" never took off more than it did.

The idea is to name it Anthem. After its parent company.

They're also trying to get rid of over a decade of merch. Like they have about 10 thousand autographed Jeff Jarrett pictures from 2006 in stock still

Anthem Wrestling Entertainment?

Not bad of a ring to it. At least it also isn't an acronym for 'Tits and ass'
