WS News Bot said:
Mick Foley, who was revealed as the Network Consultant tonight on Spike TV, announced during the telecast that show is being renamed iMPACT! Wrestling. He added that it’s a show “about wrestling.”

To reflect the name change, TNA Wrestling re-designed their official website with new graphics and the tagline, “Wrestling Matters Here.” The domain name ImpactWrestling.com was also activated, although it redirects to TNAWrestling.com.

T-Shirts featuring the Impact Wrestling logo are now available via ShopTNA.com.

If you tag line is "Wrestling Matters Here" then make wrestling the focus of the show! Turn down the campness, reduce the stupid skits and storylines and book more wrestling. Saying you are wrestling doen't mean anything until you change your booking style.

I like the blue of the new logo, it looks better than before much cleaner logo.

I like the logo.

My question though is: So did the three letters TNA get dropped from the company completely or what?

^^ Hasn't watched Impact from last night yet.

No the letters didn't get dropped. The only change was IMPACT! became IMPACT Wrestling.

Minor change and again it means nothing until they start showcasing wrestling more on Impact Wrestling.

The logo is nice, I like it, and I'm glad it was just the TV show and not the company being rebranded. Think we all like to jump to conclusions too early and don't wait and see and it makes us all look foolish, but again iif we didn't jump to conclusions then we wouldn't have a forum.

I still blame Hogan's tweet for that. He was the one that said no TNA just Impact. Now that makes sense but at that time he made it sound like TNA was being removed.

Like you said that is what the forum is for, members to speculate and make assumptions before things happen. Makes things more interesting.

Trust Kurt Angle to confuse things;

Recap of Kurt Angle’s appearance on the Busted Open satellite radio show on Sirius 92 and XM 207.

On the name change to Impact Wrestling. Is TNA gone?: “Gone, yeah. Impact Wrestling is the new name of the company. I personally believe in it because when it comes down to it, you can’t take the word wrestling out of pro wrestling. Any storyline, or any feud…when you do that, it’s entertainment and you’re doing the storylines, but where does it ultimately end up? In the wrestling ring. At the PPV, the payoff. So how can you take wrestling out of pro wrestling….you can’t. That’s what they (the fans) buy tickets for. They buy tickets to watch guys wrestle. Not to be actors and entertain us. They pay to watch great wrestling.”??

So according to Angle, Impact Wrestling is now the company name not just the name of the Thursday show. Admittedly this is Angle and he is crazy so he could be wrong.

The logo looks very sick and much better then the original TNA logo. I like the T-Shirt it is a nice touch kind of looks like a Wrestlemania. I am confused still on if the company is called iMPACT, or if it is just a brand.

That's an interesting point to bring up. Is it just a brand now?

Because of this, does it mean that they're finally going to bring Xplosion over to Spike and air it on another night as a "Separate" brand?

Wouldn't that be like making Sunday Night Heat a different brand from Raw? No one watched Superstars. Why watch Explosion?

Well, you see, they have a ton of guys that never get used in the back. Think of it like WCW having Nitro and then Thunder. Expand Xplosion to make it a two hour show, and use it as another way of you know, getting guys on television?

They should just cut back on the talent roster, if a company isn't making a profit, it seems stupid to keep such a large roster. Adding a new show only adds more costs to a company that is bleeding cash. The giant roster WCW had was a major reason why the company started losing revenue after the nWo angle got boring.

^Amen to that. TNA really need to cut down their roster, and cut the number of titles in the process, because there are way too many wrestlers for a two hour show. Xplosion could be used like Heat and Velocity was used but that still would only use half a dozen or less wrestlers a week. They need to drop about a dozen wrestlers to ensure that they use the ones they have right and to ensure they are making money.
