It was always going to happen, he's probably the most credible in the company at least from a babyface standard he may be old but it's Sting, Morgan winning would have been a problem as you don't want him to job in the title match this early but you also can't have Ray lose the strap (him losing to Ray is illogical as it's a huge match, losing to Sting doesn't really hurt him) and Sting can still go to a decent standard whilst the story has a logical leap forward (Sting trusted Ray now wants redemption for it). Honestly who's better for Ray? AJ is too soon, Storm has jobbed like crazy, Hardy lost his title match recently, Morgan has the issue of not being fully built yet, Park isn't ready, Joe wouldn't have been bad but a win over him is nothing compared to beating Sting, same as Magnus.
