TNA iMPACT! Demolishes ECW
12/07/2007 by Ryan Clark

The ratings are in from last night and TNA Impact! soundly defeated ECW in the head-to-head ratings battle.

Last night's TNA iMPACT! drew a 1.1 cable rating. On a different timeslot, ECW garnered a 0.6 cable rating -- a record low for the program.

UFC's "The Ultimate Fighter" that aired at 11 p.m. after TNA Impact! did a 0.5 rating.

Really, this was no surprise to me. The fans won't be stupid enough to tune into ECW and see a Miz vs. Big Daddy C when they have already seen TNA Impact!

TNA Impact! It's way better than ECW and Vince McMahon and WWE should drop the whole NEW "VISION" of ECW because it's not getting it anywhere, dude that was a 0.6 Rating can it get any worse? Slowly ECW is getting dead and from now onwards we might see more from ECW.

It was a record low for the program as it had never done 0.6 ever before and had won many head to head Rating battles with many different television shows and Wrestling Shows in the same timeslot including TNA Impact! in late August, it's not a shock just bad to see how they are using the ECW program, what should they do next? I prefer shutting down ECW.

Ok, first, yes before people come out here and call me biased, I did say that ECW would beat TNA, but heck, half the forum did, so it's not a big deal.

First of all, TNA was coming out of a PPV, and they did the lame move of announcing something and not delivering. The, it was TNA usual timeslot, it was the ECW fans that had to move from time, and as proven most of them were not willing to do the change.

Not surprised at all. ECW is terrible, and now that they're doing the talent exchange thing there's no reason at all to watch it. At least before maybe someone you liked got sent there in the draft so you had that reason.

OK, the first time you said Randy Orton was the next Stone Cold, that's not an opinion, that's a fantasy. And then you said ECW is where wrestlers go to die.....like CM Punk, Shelton Benjamin, Kenny Dykstra, Elijah Burke, Matt Striker, etc. They're all at the end of their ropes. Congrats.

I was a little surprised by this, but not really. First of all does anyone know what the hour to hour breakdown was? It said Impact! did a 1.1 and ECW dia 0.6, what did the second of hour of Impact! do? I don't think it'll make much of a difference, but I'm curious.

I couldn't disagree more about ECW. I think especially now with the talent merger the roster, although very small, really isn't that bad. I've always kind of considered ECW to be probably be the "C" show, but I don't there as far behind Smackdown! as some people say they are. I think if they had a larger roster they'd succeed better, but the talent swap is helping them imo.

BTW did anyone see the new look Kevin Thorne this week? Has that been going on for a while or was that the first time? I watch pretty much every week, but I don't always see the full hour, so I was just curious if anyone else saw that.

Im still suprised that not many people have yet to deliver that lame excuse that ECW was on a Thursday and some people (kids) forgot.....

^It might not be a great excuse, acutally there are no great excuses, but you do have to admit that factored in. Especially considering they did nothing to advertise for the switch in days. There was no mention on the previous show that it would be on Thursday and not Tuesday as usual. That was a dumb move on ECW's part. Is that the reason why the ratings were so different? No probably not, did it factor in? Yea I think it did, but not to the extent that it completely cost ECW that many viewers.

Yeah. It's doesn't matter. People make a big deal about a WWE show going head to head with a TNA show and make it like it's the next fucking Monday Night Wars...Anyways, it didn't surprise me that TNA won. TNA is better. :)

Thank you. I knew somebody would come through. :)

your quite welcome...

but the real question is whats your excuse going to be when ROH's "Man up" ppv gets more than 3 times the buys then turning point?

you know since we are on the subject of the smaller company beating the bigger company.
