I think most of us tend to pick the guys who it makes a little more sense from a grown-up standpoint to win, while WWE gives the win to whoever the casuals and the kids want to win, whether it makes sense or not for them to win.

In TNA (lately, at least), storylines have been much more solid. In WWE (again, lately, it hasn't always been this way), popularity with those two demographics trumps storyline (hence, Kevin Federline gets to beat the WWE Champion John Cena; it made the casuals laugh to see an idiot wanna-be-whatever beat a guy who is supposedly a professional fighter).
