Normally I'd say they just don't know shit about TNA and people are doing rule of thumb and betting on the incoming champion bc that's not a bad one.

But I think I remember Moose being favored when I checked a week or so ago so a change kinda might mean something

one theory I saw also was that the big free agent signing is prob coming out after that match - and Shelley vs Ali sounds amazing and likely

I've been thinking, and in hindsight I feel like Shelley was always meant to come into this PPV as champion. Assuming they knew months before BFG they were planning the rebrand for this, but I think the actual plans may have been Maclin never beating Josh at Rebellion, Shelley eventually beating Josh himself which makes sense bc he did retain against Josh at BFG, so that was the roundabout way of doing the match
Nah you still have Maclin as transitional champ, injuries just forced the issue

By the time of Hard to Kill (218 days), Alex Shelley will have had a reign longer than AJ Styles' record-setting first 2009-10 reign (211 days). Only Bobby Roode's first reign (256 days) and Josh Alexander's second reign (335 days) has been longer.

I’ve always been a fan of Alex Shelley, but I really do feel now is the time to hand the torch back over to moose. Shelley was the perfect guy to transition from impact back to TNA and he’s had what’s looking like top three reign in the company‘s history, so I really don’t think he needs it past next Sunday.
