Usually in these cases it's the wrestlers trademarking their old name to then use wherever, not a new company trademarking it, so that could be a factor. I think "technically" if Santino went back to WWE, he couldn't use that name with TNA as owner, but I can't really see any role for him in WWE anyway

This one really seems unnecessarily spiteful even for WWE bc there's literally no benefit to them nor harm in TNA calling him it. And if it's not just vindictive to be vindictive, it points to a lack of communication in TKO between legal and creative as I don't think HBK would be particularly happy seeing this with as much as he personally uses and benefits from TNA rn

Yeah it's either higher ups flexing to remind ppl.whos got power n who doesn't - or lack of communication/incompetence. Could very well be the latter as the saying goes " do not assume malice to what can be attributed to stupidity "
