TNA newcomer Orlando Jordan kissed a man prior to his match with Samoa Joe at last night's iMPACT! taping in Orlando. The former WWE United States Champion was escorted to the ring by a man and a woman. He had his arms around both of them and kissed each prior to his match.

This reportedly didn't go over well with everyone backstage in TNA as some felt the company "crossed the line" as it were. One TNA performer offered the opinion that the angle will turn off viewers from Spike considering it's specifically geared towards men.

It's worth noting that before Jordan's release from World Wrestling Entertainment in May 2006, there were creative plans for him to be repackaged with a bisexual gimmick in a storyline involving former TNA performer Stephanie Finochio (a/k/a Trinity) and a friend of his with no prior background in the wrestling industry. While bisexuality is considered taboo in some wrestling circles, it was passed for Jordan since it's his lifestyle in the real world. It should be noted that the storyline was Jordan's idea because creative had no plans for him at the time.

If I remember correctly, WWE didn't even go this far with their Billy/Chuck angle.

Thoughts?

Here we fuckin go. The guy has been pretty damn good since debuting in TNA. His matches have been solid and he's been drawing a decent amount of heat...there's no need for this shit.

I thought noumenon was going to close this thread.

Anyway, I don't fucking care if he's showing bisexuality. The matches are what counts, and he has been shining in his matches since debuting in TNA so this is mosly a waste of a thread.

He can shine in his matches all he wants but the fact is that he's never going to get over with this shit...not in a good way either.
Don't be shocked if in coming weeks theres some nice dead air silence during OJ's segments because I wouldn't put it past the crowd to start a "YOU'RE A smurf!" chant or something to that nature.

This, this is the kind of shit they're taking to Mondays? I don't give a damn how people try and defend this, this is nonsense to the highest degree and the cheapest heat. You just don't do it in wrestling. You can be fruity, hint at it, do some grabbing ala Goldust, but you don't kiss another man. I'm seriously surprised he hasn't been beaten by some of the boys. Should have put him in a room with Scotty Stiener. But beyond that, this is just garbage. Don't care if you think it's racier and more mature, it's garbage. I'd much rather watch that sorry ass Springer segment than watch a man kiss another man. Hell, I'd rather watch that Springer segment than anything with OJ, but still...Just another reason why TNA will never grow...

Oh fuck this shit. If they actually intend to go through with this fag angle Orlando Jordan can kiss his fucking career goodbye. If this is his idea then he is a fucking blueberry. Being gay needs to stay in your private life not out in the open like this. Orlando is indeed a queer.

every complains about tna ripping off wwe and complains about wwe being PG, the point in this angle is for it to draw heat, and hell it may even bring in the gay community to wrestling, something that shouldnt be discouraged either becuase from my travels being gay is only really not accepted in america, which is a joke of our society to shun people.

and why is it perfectly fine for a woman to kiss a woman on tv but not a man kissing a man? both are signs of being gay, but in jordans case he's doing both so that makes him bi.

look there is nothing wrong with this, it will rub some people the wrong way, sure, but what fucking doesn't rub people the wrong way anymore? congrads to OJ for sticking up for what he believes in and doing something different in the wrestling world.

there was a time when blacks werent allowed to play sports, nowadays its gays who are shunned from pretty much anything sports related. people just shut the fuck up and watch the guy wrestle, its not cheap, its part of who he is, grow up and accept him with the rest of the world.

^^^E-fuckin-xactly!

Alot of cats already don't watch wrestling because, honestly, what's gayer than two grown men in spandex and oiled bodies rolling around on the floor? Thanks to TNA, they reaffirm that fucking stereotype and set wrestling back another 20 years. That controversy won't create cash, only backlash and hate mail.

Really. It's not about "OMG OJ is gay/bi!!", knowing someone is gay isn't that huge of a deal anymore, and I agree it's dumb how we americans can deal with two women kissing but not two guys, same goes with how when a man cheats he's a player but a woman is a whore, but thing is people don't want to see two men kissing especially on a wrestling show and really it's all about the people watching the show and the ratings.

Sure, OJ kissing a guy will draw him cheap heat, but it also stands a chance to bring even more negativity towards TNA in general. They're trying to go mainstream and be on an even level with WWE, then why would they go with something that could hurt them more than it could help.
