- Restart it with the February 2010 database instead (so I get all the start-of-Hogan-era signings)?
- Restart it in TEW2020 with The Future Is Now 2010 database?

I'd love to see it restarted in 2020, because I think the WWE AI would be far more intelligent.

New OP

Welcome to the first ever Sim BTB! I start from January 2010 in TEW2020, and let the AI do its thing to see how an entirely computer-controlled "war" between WWE and TNA would have gone.

I did this on TEW2005 before, but... the TEW2005 AI is fucking dumb. Like, Impact never signed anyone despite growing to Global and WWE collapsed in on itself. Therefore, I'll do it in TEW2020. The more in-depth in-game editor will also allow me to fix cases where wrestlers get released and re-signed, but with the wrong gimmick name (for example, when Undertaker was re-signed he went by Mark Calaway for the rest of his WWE career).

So, let's go! No start-of-season releases, which is a plus.

Impact is already on Monday full-time, so..... it's getting thrashed in the ratings.
On the bright side, it's getting more channels to show it, with BiteTV in Canada showing its episodes. Additionally, Xplosion is on North American TV for the first time in a long time, with SyFy in the US and The Comedy Network in Canada showing it.
On the 2010-01-25 Impact, soon after Genesis, Kurt Angle turned heel in a shocking moment, aligning himself with Kevin Nash. Angle vs. World Champion AJ Styles is set to be the storyline going forward. Angle had recently been voted "best technical wrestler in the world".
Due to a phone hacking, an explicit video of Kristal Marshall having sex with someone who is certainly not Bobby Lashley was released in January. This, needless to say, ended their relationship.
Additionally, James Storm has had one of his old online accounts found where he describes his rawly sexual attitudes towards all women. (Don't blame me, it's what the game decided).

WWE news
WWE's ECW show has been discontinued ahead of schedule.
The legacy of D-Generation X finally ended on the first Raw of 2010, when Triple H turned heel. He has joined together with Kane and the Miz to form the Awesome Authority (Miz refused to get involved if "Awesome" wasn't in the name).
However, Kane has suffered a serious neck injury that will see him miss the rest of 2010. This occurred during a match pitting the Awesome Authority against Goldust and William Regal. An audible was called and Goldust gave a Shattered Dreams to Triple H, forcing a DQ.
In the end, DX didn't need to break up, because Shawn Michaels turned heel.
Michelle McCool is off on maternity leave - this may cause issues, given that she is the current WWE Women's Champion.
Eve Torres was arrested due to an altercation with police.

Around the World
NJPW has ended several of its interpromotional connections, with ROH and JAPW no longer enjoying relations to the Japanese giant. Tensions between NJPW and NOAH have spiralled into outright hostility. NOAH has signalled its willingness to poach from NJPW.
Karl Anderson has started a band, oddly enough.

WWE news
In the main event of WrestleMania XXVI, the Streak vs. Career match ended in favour of... Career?! Yes, Shawn Michaels saved his career and smashed the Undertaker's streak at 17-1 in the process. In addition, he also won Taker's World Heavyweight Championship! This is likely to be parlayed into an even more bitter Michaels/Taker feud.
Batista broke his arm during a six-man tag on SmackDown. What's worse, the finish called for him to get pinned by Curt Hawkins, of all people.
WWE (sadly) saw the sense to have Michelle McCool vacate the Women's belt before going on maternity leave. Mickie James beat Jillian Hall in the finals of a mini tournament to take it home for the fifth time.
Heath Slater, recently called up to WWE's main roster, has expressed a desire to travel and wrestle in other countries... but there's worry that this could be interpreted as him wanting out early.
Rosey has been re-signed to fill a void in FCW, as several of its top talent have been called up. It doesn't seem to have helped FCW, as they've now lost their TV show, so Rosey returned to the main roster soon after.
CM Punk and Beth Phoenix's relationship is over.

For this reason, they have been forced to start pre-taping Raw and SmackDown.
Additionally, like TNA, several international TV deals for WWE ended.
The Awesome Authority leadership has seemingly been hotshot again and again, with the leadership going from Triple H to Kane to Miz in short order. Meanwhile, the Uprising stable (which featured a lot of young talents like Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger) has been abruptly canned.
Randy Orton is out until next July with an ACL tear.
Reid Flair has been jailed for tax evasion.
