Well, Regal is taking his place right now, making him look "superior" and "in power".

But imo, i think it will be better if they had Shane do this instead. I mean, Regal looks lame and he is not respected by anyone, including me, lol.

But on the otherhand, Shane; who's a McMahon; would suit this supreme gimmick of taking control of the show, turning off Live TV, switching off the lights, etc..

Who is really digging the idea of Regal being in this gimmick? personally as i said, Shane would be better imo.

^the idea is to have people hate regal, if it were shane he would get a small face pop each time he came out. regal is doing a great job and i actually respect him and he happens to be one of my favorite wrestlers.

William Regal doesn't fit well as RAW General Manager specially with that British gimmick of his and I heard that he is planning on returning full-time to wrestling so there should be someone else who could act like a real GM for RAW... Make Bischoff sign a 6 month contract... :shifty:

I personally think Regal has done well in this role.

All he needs is a stable and the WWE championship.

lol being British isn't a gimmick.

William Regal is respected by all the wrestlers. He's consistently been one of the most underutilised talents and its finally being realised. Hes trained half of the so-called popular wrestlers in the WWE so he might not be respected by the fans but he is by the wrestlers. He is a brilliant heel, everyone dislikes him.

He should be a main event. I think this current storyline is leading to a feud with Triple H. Regal deserves the title before he retires, his history in pro wrestling is second to none.

I don't think hes undermining Vince Mcmahon at all and he wont step down for a long time yet in my opinion. I wouldnt like to see Shane Mcmahon take his place yet either, his popularity is too ambiguous, that role is suited to a heel. Stephanie Mcmahon and Triple H would be better but in 10 years down the line.

Honestly the point isn't to have someone take over the WWE, then I'm sure shane would get it, this is regal finally getting his push he's deserved for a while. I personally love the fact that regals getting what he deserves and hopefully a wwe title will comeo ut of it.

I dont really think its him taking over WWE. The only thing hes doing i controlling his brand(storyline wise of course)... But as MTG said, if it was taking over WWE, or evil boss character, Shane would get it, or Vince would keep it.... But this is just for Raw, and wont be his gimmick forever. I mean, hes not going to become "The Light Man" or "Williams Blackout" for his career, hes just going to do this to gain his respect back.
And Vince shouldnt have to step down even if Regal was going to be an evil boss, they could team up, but either way, its just what a heel GM does. Eric Bischoff did stuff (not this, but all underhanded tactics) as GM all the time when he was GM but he wasnt the first in control.
So I dont think Vince needs to step down IMO.

Edit: And to answer the question "does anyone buy/dig this gimmick"... I still dont think its a gimmick, just a habit hes doing for a while as part fo the storyline, but yes, I like it, it shows he isnt a pushover like some former gms were made out to be... *cough* Coach *cough*

dude Regal is just playing General Manager.. it's not like he's running the company or anything - Vince still is and he's still playing the Owner. Regal's roll is just like Vickie's roll on Smackdown - so does that mean Stephanie should be taking over Smackdown instead of Vickie? When its time for Vince to step down - he will.. and Shane will take over but right now isn't the time!

stepping down not as the chairman, but stepping down from "acting" boss in front of TV. As you all have noticed that he isnt on TV lately. Thats my point here. "Gimmick wise".

personally if vince steps down then Stephanie should own all of wwe. she has done more work than shane and linda put together. she writes the weekly raw show and writes her husband in main events, but i would like the McMahon-Helmsley era reknew itself and take over wwe.

Stephanie doesnt write the shows.... The writers do.

And my opinions still the same about Vince. He doesnt need to step down, because he still has higher powers over Regal, and whenever he comes back he can still be the "evil Boss" because Regal isnt doing all this crap over WWE, just his brand.

stephanie is lead writer of raw last time i checked, and i think regal would be a good pick as chairman but not forever for a month or so and definately not backstage, what about mike adamle as chairman? lol.

whats wrong with being British ? anyway I think that vince should step down and let shane and and steph be joint chair people and this would also have great potental to have a rivalry for power because lets face it there both so wooden you couldn't have one without the other

Regal doesn't really fit RAW but no doubt he is doing a good job just you can't have a show towards young audience and have him in there it just don't mix. I hope he does come back to wrestling full time and gets a huge heel push to the top wich he deserves.
I will tell you guys no one will ever, EVER do a better job than Eric Bischoff as RAW GM.
I'm just afraid they will put Coach as GM again or have McMahon again.
