No doubt Miz is one of the GOATs but does he have any place on the roster now?

I feel like his shtick is old and ain’t no one taking him seriously anymore. You can keep using him as a jobber to the stars but does anyone even take him seriously in that role anymore? Does beating him carry any weight anymore?

I have a lot of thoughts about Miz's perception as a whole, mostly that the discourse annoys me bc he was hated so long that the tide started rightfully turning to appreciating him but then it swung too far and I find people are crazy overrating him despite me seeing a lot of value lmao

But your main question is a good one, he really might not have a current role. A lot of his stuff feels like it falls flat, not due to his performance, but due to it just being him involved. Which is honestly so hard to overcome once it gets to that point. I want to say he should always have a midcard spot if he's in ring shape, but maybe he doesn't idk

I'm honestly surprised he hasn't had a run in NXT. Dude is solid and safe in the ring, can absolutely still go on the mic and would be a good hand to have around when they inevitably lose Oba, Page & Ricky pretty soonish.

NXT would be a great spot for him, hopefully not a last gasp like Corbin, but he could have a similar resurgence I think

Yeah it seems that his body has held up remarkably well. He’s still in great shape and hasn’t lost a step in the ring. Just seems like he’s randomly inserted into shit now and doesn’t have any meaningful storylines. Maybe he just needs a fresh coat of paint. NXT isn’t a bad idea

Miz down at NXT also could help with promo class. So definitely not a bad idea.

Not that he's not in great shape for his age, because of course he is, but what do you mean his body has held up remarkably well? You make it sound like he's put himself through it when he works a safer, slower, more grounded style than probably 95% of wrestlers. If anything, he should wrestle until he's 60. :lol

That being said, I don't have much to weigh in on this topic as I'm not a WWE viewer. I do want to echo Chris' thoughts on how overrated I think he's become as a reaction to him being shit on so hard for the first several years.

And independently, I'll add the following critique: Great pro, always comfortable on the mic and in the ring, reliable as hell, and a fantastic ambassador... He's really good at his job. I would even say there have been times where I felt bad for him about his booking, considering how dependable and versatile he is. He isn't fucking Ricky Steamboat though. He's not Dusty Rhodes. In 20 years, he has about three matches and one promo that people reference as being great, so I don't think anyone is missing any hidden magic ability that he has.

Lastly, I want to acknowledge that the previous paragraph was critical and will no doubt be read by some as evidence of how much people try to put Miz down, but let me be clear that my criticism isn't towards The Miz, it's towards the public sentiment on his legacy and how people evaluate him as a worker.

A lot of his current hate and also excessive defense of Miz also stems entirely from Bryan Alvarez acting like he's one of the worst wrestlers ever too I'd add lol he's an outrage mongererer so anyone joining on on it on one side or the other I don't rate too high

I never was a big fan of his but it was ridiculous how people started overrating him just because he yelled at Daniel Brian during a panel.

He put a lot of people over though, I'll give him that.

Solid mid card guy and one of the safest workers in wwe. So good promo wise but this feeling of he's a messiah in ring , why we as fans are laughed at for liking wrestling.
