This is a thread on what made and/or makes you not watch wrestling on a regular basis.

I start off with mine...

What made me not watch wrestling on a regular at one point was The Undertaker's streak being broken.

I thought that was the most horrible thing in the world. For a very long time I couldn't look at it the same...

But when he came back and beat Bray Wyatt and Brock Lesnar (Summer Slam) in 2015 It drew me back in and I started to like it.

But till this very day that still pisses me off they let some good for nothing Brock Lesnar win at WrestleMania over The Deadman.

Nowadays I cannot watch it like I used to because....

There's no WWE Network. Which is another thing that pisses me off. When they cancelled it and so called "moved" to Peacock TV I just gave up.

The Format is complete horseshit and you can only watch Today's era of wrestling.

You cannot go back in time and enjoy the good classic eras. Like New Generation, Attitude, Ruthless Aggression. What I usually loved to do.

It shows that WWE is more about money than their fans.

When Wrestling from nowadays wasn't on I always watched some classic wrestling from back in the day. Then I would watch some current era wrestling when it came on.

It completely changed my wrestling metabolism.

Those are my stories what are yours...

New Japan Wrestling getting abruptly canceled by AXS TV. When Anthem Sports & Entetainment bought a majority stake in AXS Network, they wanted to market their own brand, Impact Wrestling, and gradually pushed NJPW further away. Anthem canceled their show on December 2019 despite NJPW still having a year left on its contract.

It got on my last nerves that NJPW, a hardscrabble, pull-yourself-up-by-your-own bootstraps company was canceled to make way for Impact, one of the worst run promotions this past decade. For the longest time, I couldn't watch wrestling.

Randy Orton and Mick Foley's feud... Gross... Stupid and lacking in respect. I stopped watching wrestling so much afterwards.

I stopped watching TNA when all the TNA originals basically left.

When Abyss, Roode, James Storm, Eric Young, AJ, Jay Lethal, and so many others left.

When Sting and Kurt Angle left all the TNA Originals basically followed.

I knew from then on TNA wasn't going to be the same and/or good anymore

WCW getting bought out... Also the original draft was a big turn off, I only had RAW on my TV didnt get the channels SmackDown was broadcast on so I said fuck it I can't watch my favorite wrestlers because they are not on RAW. Right now mostly the show being boring and lacking in storyline.

Another thing I want to say is that back in the day the whole idea with TNA was...

If WWE didn't satisfy you TNA would.

Now TNA is a wasteland and a former shell of it's former shell.

Like I tried to get into AEW but it doesn't do it for me....

This primarily for WWE.

50/50 booking. Incoherent stories. Start/stop pushes. Lack of long term storytelling. Sterile and formulaic matches, lack of change. If you compare WWE from 1990 to 2000 or 2000 to 2010 or even 2005 to 2008 or 2008 to 2011, the landscape, production, feel, and everything is completely different. WWE has been identical from 2010 onwards, the same wrestlers, the same look, the same feel, the same PPVs.

Overall for other wrestling shows, it's the lack of outlets to watch. I watch a lot of lucha libre, but really there isn't a certifiable way to watch new shows or anything. I'm also big into Dragon Gate and NOAH, but their subscription services are wastelands and really poorly made. The story is the same with TNA when they left Spike. I don't watch AEW because I'm just not very interested in American wrestling overall because of that. I also don't find New Japan's push to become more Americanized to be very appealing so I don't bother with them either.

I stopped watching current WWE in 2019, raw wasn't cutting it and the ppvs bored me. However I still watch WWE and WCW from the 90's online plus my vhs and dvds.

YOU CAN SAY THAT AGAIN!!!!!

it's gotten so repetitive you can't help but to think it's going to get worse from here.

They've completely alienated people that I haven't watched a full episode of WWE since The Road to WrestleMania and WrestleMania itself....

No matter how many Legends, Icons, and Hall of Famers they bring back to clean up their messes.

They will never get out of the hole they're in. Unless they do something drastic....

With WWE it's the boring storytelling and lack of star power.. I haven't watched since before the pandemic and I'm not coming back any time soon.

Now I just watch Stardom in Japan and occasionally AEW.

I Remember how much the Pandemic had an effect over me not watching WWE.

Seeing those empty arena matches was so depressing for them. It's was just unbearable.

But I started back once they've put up the screens. I started back watching it in a on and off schedule.

But since WrestleMania I've really haven't seen it not one bit...

For me the screens were (still are) a big turn off. Also the 50-50 booking. Not sure what specifically caused me to stop watching. I was subscribed to the Network, watched all the big events, RAW every week. Cancelled subscription and haven't watched RAW in months. I don't think there's one defining moment "And that's when I turned it off." It was just a gradual boredom and indifference.

Even reading RAW / Smackdown results bores me.

50/50 booking aka the Goku and Vegeta thing has become another huge problem.

Those stupid "I'm better you" based storylines are getting extremely old.

There minds are shriveled as f**k they cannot come up with anything now

Truly I used to do things like that.

I would watch full episodes of RAW and Smackdown Ruthless Aggression Era on YouTube before The WWE YouTube channel and before everything and it's mother had a copyright claim on YouTube

I think the WWE was at its best in the 90's, nothing could touch it.
