Monday Night Raw
April 11th 2005
Hartford Civic Center - Hartford, Conneticut

"I'm Back" played to kick off RAW this week as General Manager Eric Bischoff made his way down to the ring. Microphone ready, Bischoff started to speak over the boos. He informed everyone that as there was currently no Number #1 Contender for "The Animal" Batista's World Heavyweight Championship, tonight a little tournament would be held to change that fact. Four matches will take place, with eight of the best superstars on the show wrestling in them. The four men who win their matches will go on to face off in a Fatal Four Way Match next week on RAW. The winner, will challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship two weeks later at Backlash. He then pointed out that the scheduled match between "The Rated R Superstar" Edge and "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels would still be going ahead, but would now be a part of the tournament. To finish off the segment he said that the first match of the tournament was going to happen right now!

The match was between Shelton Benjamin and "Captian Charisma" Christian. With Tomko in Christian's corner it was going to be tough for the WWE Intercontinental Champion. Whenever it looked like Benjamin was on a roll Christian would either resort to underhanded tactics or he would get his "Problem Solver" to help him out. The ending came after nine minutes when Benjamin had Christian in the corner. He Irish Whipped him in to the opposite corner and ran at him full pelt only for Christian to move and Tomko to nail Benjamin with a right from on the apron. Benjamin staggered backwards right in to Christian who set up for a Reverse DDT. However Benjamin swung out and reversed it in to a T-Bone Suplex position. Just as Benjamin was about to finish it, the music of Muhammed Hassan hit. The Number #1 Contender for the Intercontinental Championship appeared from behind the curtain. He then began to walk down towards the ring. Shelton let go of Christian and walked over to the edge of the ring where Hassan was heading. Benjamin then ushered Hassan in to the ring but Hassan shook his head. He then stopped at the bottom of the entrance ramp as Christian snuck up from behind Benjamin and nailed him with the Unprettier. Christian made the pin and in the process made himself the first to advance to the Fatal Four Way Match next week on RAW. After the match Hassan entered the ring and started the beat down on Shelton Benjamin. He called down his sidekick Daivari to help him too. To finish the vicous beatdown Hassan locked Benjamin in the Camel Clutch before leaving the ring with a satisfied look on his face as an unconsious Benjamin lay motionless in the center of the squared circle.

Backstage Johnathan Coachman was standing by with Victoria who looked very serious indeed. Coach began to speak but Victoria was having none of it as she snatched the microphone away from Coach and kicked him in the balls causing Coach to squabble off in pain. The camera then centered on Victoria. She talked about her reasoning behind her attack on WWE Women's Champion Trish Stratus last week. She said it was because she was sick and tired of not receiving the recognition she deserved around here. So if people weren't going to give it to her, she was just going to have to go out and take it. And what better way then taking out the Women's Champion, and the most loved Diva in the whole of the World Wrestling Entertainment. She then continued on by saying that she had never seen anything in Trish anyway and she was just about to go on about how bad Trish was in the ring but was interrupted by the women herself. A furious Trish dived at Victoria and yet again the two brawled all throughout the backstage area. This time it was Eric Bischoff who broke it up. He said that he was sick and tired of these stupid brawls and would have both ladies fired if it happened one more time. He then announced that in three weeks at Backlash the two of them would face off with the Womens Title up for grabs. Both Victoria and Trish looked happy with this as the show went to a commercial.

"The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels versus "The Rated-R Superstar" Edge with his girlfriend Lita was the next match in the Tournament. This match was action packed from start to finish, with both men giving it their all. Edge bled early thanks to an unprotected metal turnbuckle which was his own doing in the first place, the resulting pin was broken up by Lita. However in the end it was "Mr Money In The Bank" who came out on top with a Schoolboy pin after dodging a Sweet Chin Music from HBK. A handful of tights and the ropes helped him quite a bit too. After the match Shawn Michaels let out some frusteration after losing his sixth consecutive match in a row.

Backstage Michaels was seen walking down the hall following his match. Still in his ring attire, he was very sweaty and was clearly being very hard on himself. He headed straight to his locker room, slamming the door angrily behind him.

The third match of the Number #1 Contendership Tournament was between "The Ayatollah Of Rock And Rolla" Chris Jericho, and Matt Hardy. Matt Hardy was in control for most of the ten minute match, and on many occasions showed signs of winning it. However when the pressure was on Jericho rose to the occasion. Hardy had just hit a Side Effect and was now stalking a downed Y2J. Jericho got to his feet and Hardy pulled Jericho's head under his arm. However before Hardy could hit the Twist Of Fate, Jericho swung out and tripped Hardy over. He then locked him in the Walls Of Jericho but Hardy used all his courage and determination to get within a fingertip of the bottom rope. But Jericho, being the veteran he is, dragged poor Hardy back in to the middle of the ring, and from then on it was only a matter of time before Hardy tapped out.

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair was seen getting a cola from the vending machine backstage when the World Heavyweight Champion Batista appeared. Surprised to see him, Ric hugged Batista. Batista then told Ric that he really appreaciated him teaming with him last week, and he also thanked Ric for understanding where he was coming from with the whole Triple H/World Title thing. Batista then said that although Ric was the "Dirtiest Player In The Game," he seriously felt he could trust him and depend on him. Flair stopped "The Animal" before he could say anymore. With a tear in his eye, Flair told Batista that he shouldn't be thanking him, I should be thanking you. Flair then walked off as Batista just stood there with a smile on his face and his eyes watering up.

In the Main Event, and the last match in the Number #1 Contendership Tournament Qualifiers, "The Rabid Wolverine" Chris Benoit took on the "Big Red Machine" Kane. Although handicapped size wise, Benoit put up quite a fight, infact, he dominated Kane for much of the match. Benoit even locked Kane in the Crossface, only for the big arms of Kane to break him out. Eventually the match came to a close. Benoit had just hit three German Suplex's on Kane and was now up on the top turnbuckle. He was looking to finish it with a Diving Headbutt. However as Benoit jumped Kane rolled out of the way and Benoit hit the mat hard. Kane then stood up and as Benoit got to his feet, Kane nailed him with a Chokeslam. Kane then made the cover to qualify for the Fatal Four Way match. As Kane celebrated in the ring, Edge snuck out from the crowd and set up in the corner. As Kane turned toward him Edge ran and speared "The Big Red Machine". Jericho then ran to the ring and started trading punches with Edge. Christian followed not long after. Kane then sat up and joined in the action. The four brawled in the ring as the show went off the air.

Since it would be hard to reveiw your show the way i do I'll try something different.

To finish off the segment he said that the first match of the tournament was going to happen right now!

Great pointing out Edge's and HBK's match was now a tourny match and a good way to point out a tournament for #1 contendership.

It was a seemly good match which gave Christian the push in the tournament and also building the heat between Hassan/Daivari vs. Benjamin. Benjamin's feud with hassan can go a long way.

He then announced that in three weeks at Backlash the two of them would face off with the Womens Title up for grabs. Both Victoria and Trish looked happy with this as the show went to a commercial.

Promote a match for backlash and showing the mean streak of Victoria towards everyone. Also build up the heat between the two Divas.

He headed straight to his locker room, slamming the door angrily behind him

Edge got the win and made an angry Shawn Michaels more angry. Edge going farther in the ranks of a title shot using under hand tactics, forcing a hot HBK to get madder and madder. The HBK thing coudl turn him heel. I'll see how that progresses.

So far from reading I can see that people like Christian, Y2J, Edge those guys who had been in the top mid card position are getting a push O_O. The flair Tista promo was great and it showed the love between these two men.

A good match between Kane and Benoit. Showing Kane's size and strenght over coming Benoit's moves and tactics. Kane used his giant (pun intended) instincts to pick off a victory and now the fatal four way looks big.

Additional Comments: Fairly good show the way you write it. A little advice is to put some detail into your matches instead of saying how long it was and who had the advantage. Also dun ask for reveiws between shows/previews as it is considered spam. My Rate - 6/10

Smackdown!
April 14th 2005
BI-LO Center - Greenville, South Carolina

The show opened with some Tag Team action as Melina, Mercury and Nitro made their way down to the ring to a flurry of boos. They looked none to happy about having to face off against a team of Torrie Wilson's choosing. Speaking of Torrie, the lovely diva herself then appeared at the top of the stage. She looked as joyful as ever as she put her microphone to her mouth. She went on to announce that the team she had chosen to compete tonight had not been seen in a WWE ring for a long long time. She said that they have agreed to wrestle tonight, but only for one night only, they will sadly not be making a full time return. So without further ado she introduced her chosen two...... "The Badass" Billy Gunn... "The Road Dogg" Jesse James......... The New Age Outlaws! "Oh You Didn't Know" hit to a standing ovation as Jesse James and Billy Gunn appeared from behind the curtain. They posed at the top of the entrance ramp before making their way down to the ring, James shouting things in to his microphone along the way. Once inside the ring James asked for the music to be cut before welcoming everyone to the "Dog House". He then added that the "Dog House" is where you know that the "Outlaws" always do it "Doggy Style." He then went on by saying... "Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, children of all ages, the World Wrestling Entertainment proudly brings to you it's greatest Tag Team of all time.... "The Road Dogg" Jesse James, "The Badass" Billy Gunn..... The New Age Outlaws! The fans were going crazy right about then as James handed the mic over to his partner. Gunn then moved in to the middle of the ring and had his turn. "And if your not down with that, I got two words for yah!... Suck it!" This drove the crowd absolutely ape shit but it was quickly cut short by Mercury and Nitro who quietly slid in to the ring and attacked The Outlaws from behind to get the match started. The match was a reasonably short one as MNM controlled most of it, isolating Billy Gunn in their corner. Melina also had quite an impact on the match as she interfered on her teams behalf on a number of occasions. The end of the contest came when Gunn managed to get the tag to his partner James. James exploded on MNM and eventually managed to hit the Pumphandle Drop on Mercury but just as the referee's hand was about to hit the mat for the three count, Melina grabbed his legs and dragged him out of the ring. Torrie Wilson had had enough as she ran around the ring and dived right at Melina. The two struggled on the ring floor as the focus moved back in to the ring where Nitro had started to beatdown on James. However Gunn was quick to save his long time partner as he pulled Nitro off. The two traded punches before Gunn gained the upper hand. James made it to his feet and himself and Gunn took in turns punching Nitro back and forth before James hit the Shake, Rattle and Roll. Following the finishing blow Nitro spun around right in to a Fame Asser from Gunn. James made the cover as Gunn posed for the crowd. Following the match Torrie, Gunn, and James high fived all the fans before leaving through the crowd as all three members of MNM were laid out in and around the ring.

After the break following the opening tag team affair The New Age Outlaws were shown cooling down in their locker room. Both looked extremely happy about the win. Gunn then said how good it felt to be back in the ring, and James agreed. They both sadly said at the same time that it was a shame it was a one off thing. Then James pointed out that it didn't have to be, maybe they could return full time. Gunn just laughed it off and the talking stopped. As the camera cut back in to the arena it showed Gunn's face, he was deep in thought, more than likely about what his partner James had just said.

The Crusierweight Title match was next up as Chavo Guerrero looked to win the gold back from Billy Kidman. The match was an exciting one, with both competitos pulling off some dangerous moves. It was obvious from the outset that Chavo desperately wanted his title back, and he looked like walking out a very happy man after he managed to hit two Amigos in a row. However the current Cruiserweight champion blocked the third one with his foot, he then kicked Chavo in the gut and hit him with a B.K. Bomb before dragging a lifeless Chavo over to the corner. Kidman then climbed the turnbuckle above Chavo and executed a Shooting Star Press. Following the extremely dangerous move, Kidman made the cover. Chavo was obviously no chance to kick out as Kidman successfully retained his title.

"Latino Heat" Eddie Guerrero made his way down to the ring to an average reception. He cut a promo on how he thinks that after beating The Undertaker last week he should surely be in line for a title shot. The World Title perhaps? He goes on to say that he knows exactly why The Undertaker collapsed last week, but he isn't going to tell. All he does is ask The Undertaker a question... Didn't your mummy ever tell you not to leave your drink unprotected? He starts to laugh before going to leave the ring. However just as he gets to the ropes a bong sound fills the arena as all goes dark. Eddie doesn't know what the hell is going on. The lights switch back on and Eddie looks visibly happier. However from the crowds reaction he know's that something isn't right. He spins around quickly and there before him stands his worst nightmare, The Undertaker. Eddie freezes for a minute, practically shitting himself. "The Deadman" takes one step towards Eddie who realises that he has to do something. So without thinking Eddie swings at The Undertaker, nailing him square in the nose. Eddie throws another one, and again connects. However Eddie's luck didn't last long as he swung for a third time. The Undertaker blocked and grabbed Eddie by the throat. Just as The Undertaker was about to hit the Chokeslam, Eddie took the opportunity to kick "The Deadman" right in the genitals. The Undertaker released Eddie in pain and "Latino Heat" quickly fled the ring. As Eddie hurried back up the entrance ramp, The Undertaker stood in the middle of the ring, looking extremely angry.

Heindenreich went one on one with Mark Jindrak in the third match of the night. With Luther Reigns in Jindrak's corner, Heindenreich would have to be at the top of his game to come out victorious, and he looked to be doing just that seven minutes in to the match. He had just hit an Electric Chair Drop on Jindrak and was just setting up for a Spinning Side Slam when Reigns hit the ring. He attacked Heidenreich from behind forcing the referee to end the match. However this didn't stop Reigns as Jindrak joined in the assault. The two vicously beat down on the defenceless Heidenreich and were just about to nail the big man with a steel chair when suddenly the sound of lawnmowers filled the arena and Juventud Guerrera, Super Crazy, and Psycosis of the Mexicools made their way down to the ring suprisingly without their ride on lawnmowers. The three mexicans slid in to the ring and made the save with Jindrak and Reigns only just getting out of the ring in time. Reigns and Jindrak were grinning from ear to ear as they made their way back up the entrance ramp, leaving the angry Mexicools begging for them to come get some.

Backstage in The Cabinet's locker room, the Number #1 Contender for John Cena's WWE Championship John Bradshaw Layfield gave his troops if you will, Orlando Jordan and The Basham Brothers a rev up talk before their match later on against Cena. JBL wanted them to hurt him, make him bleed, send him a message. JBL told them that they needed to make Cena regret ever messing with The Cabinet. JBL's Valet Amy Weber looked on gleaming as the four men rambled on.

Steve Romero was standing by backstage with Booker T. Romero opened the interview by asking Booker what his thoughts were heading in to his big match with Rey Mysterio. Booker replied by saying that he was pumped, he had been looking forward to this match all week, he had been looking forward to stepping in the ring with a man who he respected, inside the squared circle, and outside the squared circle. Romero then asked Booker what he was going to do to walk out victorious. Booker said that he would do whatever it took, he was just going to go out there and give it his all, and if he won then great, if he lost then he would just work to be able to beat Rey next time. Booker finished the segment by saying that he hoped the best man would win. Booker then rushed off as his match was about to start.

"The Human Highlight Reel" Rey Mysterio faced off against Booker T in the second last match of the night. In a match built on respect, the two competitors gave it their all. Both got about an even amount of offence in, and both looked like winners on many different occassions. The match was a spectacle, no doubt about it. A spectacle that was, up until the finish. Rey Mysterio had just hit a Hurricarana from the top turnbuckle to Booker T on the outside. Rey rolled Booker in to the ring and was just about to slide in himself when a man dressed in all black with a balaclava on jumped out of the crowd and nailed Rey with a steel chair to the back, the referee called for the bell immediatly however the unidentified man continued on by rolling Rey in to the ring and climbing up to the top turnbuckle. With no hesitation what so ever the man hit a Five Star Frog Splash on Rey before stripping off his balaclava to reveal himself as no one other than Rob Van Dam! The fans went crazy with a mixture of cheers and boos as "The Whole Damn Show" stood there with a big grin. He then climbed the turnbuckle and did his signature RVD taunt as the show went to a commercial.

The WWE Champion John Cena had a daunting task laid in front of him in the Main Event of the evening as he was in a three on one handicap match against Orlando Jordan and The Basham Brothers. With the Number #1 Contender for the WWE Championship at ringside, Cena was surely going to take a beating, and that's just what he took. Orlando, Danny and Doug dominated Cena in the early going with "The Doctor Of Thuganomics" getting only little spurts of offence in every now and then. The three Cabinet members were taking turns in running full steam at Cena, who was standing in the corner turnbuckle. Doug ran up but Cena dodged. Cena hit the FU on Doug and then one on his brother Danny. JBL urgently entered the ring from behind Cena and set up for a Clothesline From Hell. However as Cena turned around he ducked the oncoming JBL, who instead collided with his Chief Of Staff, Orlando Jordan. Cena then nailed his third FU on a shocked JBL before locking Orlando in the STFU. Orlando tapped out, Cena won the handicap match, and JBL had been layed out. A pretty good nights work for the WWE Champion who celebrated in the ring, just seven days shy of his World Title defence. The show went off the air with Cena standing over a motionless JBL, the gold above Cena's head.

After a long wait there's Smackdown! I'm reasonably happy with it and feel it succesfully did everything I wanted it to do. All feedback would be much appreaciated and I will return the ones that I feel deserve it. Thanks.

This is my first time reading one of your shows, I must admit, it's a very good way to write shows, takes less out of you that's for sure. I loved reading this because I loved WM21 and to see where you take this is pretty enjoyable. I wonder if you will eventually go through with the draft, maybe keep Cena on SmackDown? Who knows, but good to see Cena keep going strong with his young title reign. Good work.

Ok here are some comments on the show, as I don't think our regular way of review would work for this type of show.

I enjoy the way you are building Eddie vs Taker. I don't think those two ever had a feud in real life one on one, and it has been nicely. I enjoy that you are going with a full fledged heel character of Eddie, and not the tweener he used to had by then(well, except Summerslam).

Not a big fan of NAO, and I find it unlikely to see them do a one time return to the WWE with all that went down between him and Vince. Then again, that's the smark talking in me, and in yoru BTB, kayfabe speaking, it made total sense and the promo after that match build an angle for them coming back real nicely.

The Booker T interview was a good idea and it served its point to then hype the match with Rey Mysterio.

John Cena vs The Cabinet was a good booking decision, putting Cena over as the big babyface defying the odds. Shocked to see Cena using the STFU back then, but still it was a nice angle that played off nicely. Good work

A special stipulation has just been added to the scheduled Intercontinental Title bout between Shelton Benjamin and Muhammed Hassan at Backlash. The stipulation states that the loser of the match must never be seen on Monday Night Raw ever again. This decision comes after the WWE received a large amount of emails, all of which were from Raw viewers complaining about having to watch Hassan on their show. This leaves Vince McMahon only to hope that Benjamin successfully retains his title.

Time To Crown A Number #1 Contender
Last week on RAW a tournament for the number one contendership of the World Heavyweight Championship was held. Four matches took place with four winners. Those four winners were "Captian Charisma" Christian, "The Rated-R Superstar" Edge, "The Ayatollah of Rock 'n Rolla" Chris Jericho, and "The Big Red Monster" Kane. This week they will all face off in a Fatal Four Way match for the chance to challenge Batista for the World Title at Backlash. Who will have the strength and determination to tough it out? And who will choke and kindle under the pressure?

End Of The Road?
Earlier this week on WWE.com "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels announced that this Monday Night he would be addressing the public about his wrestling career and if he feels he should continue or not. This comes after Michaels has lost six straight matches and his body is visibly weakening with every week that goes by. Will "The Showstopper" hang up the boots? Or will he give it one last roll of the dice? Find out this week on Monday Night RAW!

The show opens this week with the "Heartbreak Kid" himself, Shawn Michaels. The crowd erupts for the four time World Champion but it seems a little half heartened, as they all know why "The Showstopper" is out here tonight, and that is to address his future in the WWE. Michaels has a glum look on his face as he enters the ring and grabs a microphone, hinting perhaps that this may be the last time he is ever seen in a WWE ring. Michaels stops in the center of the ring and waits for the "We Love Shawn" chant to die down before putting the microphone to his mouth. He starts off by thanking the fans for the reception although he doesn't deserve it. He then goes even further by thanking them for the support over his whole career, and that he feels honored and privileged to have had the life he's had and to of been able to perform in front of all the great fans for as long as he did. The "We Love Shawn" chant starts up again as HBK lets out his first smile of the night. Once the chant dies down yet again, Shawn continues by saying that unfortunetly all good things must come to an end. He says that he's had a blast as a professional wrestler, and he wishes it didn't have to be this way. As Shawn says this the camera pans out across the crowd. Everyone is visibly saddened, a lot of people even shedding a tear. Seeing this, Shawn tells everyone not to be sad, but to be happy, to celebrate, to celebrate professional wrestling. After all, it isn't meant to be a sad thing, it's meant to be enjoyable and entertaining. Shawn then takes a deep breath before saying that as of tonight, he would like to announce his re...... "Whatever" hits to a standing ovation as "The Rabid Wolverine" Chris Benoit appears at the top of the stage, microphone in hand. Benoit is visbly upset as a tear trickles down his cheek. He then begs Shawn not to do this, please he says. He says for Shawn to give it one more crack, not to give up. Sure Shawn may be hurting, sure his body may be ageing. But it's nothing that can't be fixed, it's nothing that a little bit of hard work can't fix. Michaels buts in, apologizing to Benoit, he is about to say that it's for the best when Benoit returns the favour by cutting in. With tears swelling up in his eyes he pleads for one more match, just one last match. Himself versus HBK, like old times. Shawn shakes his head as Benoit continues. Please, just listen he says. He then proposes a match for Backlash. Benoit versus Michaels, one on one. If he wins then Michaels must wrestle on, if Michaels wins then he may retire as he wishes. Michaels says he's sorry as Benoit loses it. "The Rabid Wolverine" now completely crying, goes to turn around, but Michaels tells him to wait. He then hesitates before saying that he'll do it. But only if the fans want him to. He then asks the fans if they do and the whole arena erupts with an emphatic yes. Michaels then says that it's official before dropping the mic and leaving the ring as the fans cheer and Benoit looks over the moon at the top of the stage.

Backstage in Ric Flair's locker room, "The Nature Boy", decked out in his classic ring attire, was warming up ahead of his match with Snitsky. Judging by the expression on his face he was in the zone when all of a sudden the World Heavyweight Champion Batista walked in. A smile spread across Flair's face as Batista pat him on the back and wished him luck for his match later on. Batista then warned Flair that Snitsky wasn't just a pretty face, he was infact a very dangerous commodity. Flair told "The Animal" that he realized that, and that he realized that he would have to be at the top of his game. Batista then suggested that perhaps he should come out to ringside with Ric, but Ric had none of it, claiming that he wanted to go out there and beat Snitsky on his own, to prove that he still had it and could still mix it with the big boys. Batista reluctantly accepted Ric's wishes before walking out of the room, leaving Ric to get back to his squats.

The opening match of the night saw Matt Hardy take on the fitness guru Simon Dean. Before the match Dean cut one of his signature promos as he took shots at the fans in the audience. The fans booed uncontrolably as Dean was just about to move on to his opponent Matt Hardy when the boos turned to cheers as the man himself appeared at the top of the stage. Hardy made his way down to the ring and went right to work on Dean as the match began. The match was a rather short one as Hardy made quick work of Dean, even taking time to try some of Dean's Simon System Protein Drink which Dean had brought down with him to ringside. However instead of swallowing the drink, Hardy spat it right in the face of Dean, before hitting him with the Twist Of Fate for the win. After the match Hardy celebrated but all of a sudden "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters ran down the entrance ramp and slid in to the ring, he then proceeded to take Hardy down from behind with a forearm to the back. Masters hammered away at Hardy before locking him in the Masterlock with minimum fuss. Hardy passed out as Masters let go before making his way back up the ramp with a smirk spread across his face.

Sylvain Grenier and Robert Conway of La Resistance were seen backstage. They were in the lockerroom of Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff. They demanded a Tag Team Title shot claiming that it was about time, and besides, the current champions, The Superheros, were nothing more than jokes and were tarnishing the reputation of the World Tag Team Titles. Bischoff agreed with them about The Superheros being jokes, and he also agreed with them about it being about time that they were given a title shot. However he still didn't award them with what they wanted. Instead he made them a compromise, later on tonight Conway and Grenier would go two on two with Rosey and The Hurricane in a non-title match. If La Resistance were to win then they would take on Rosey and The Hurricane again at the upcoming Raw Pay-Per-View Backlash, this time with the Tag Team Titles on the line. La Resistance looked happy about this as they thanked Eric before walking out of the room.

The Womens Champion Trish Stratus took on Candice Michelle in the second match-up of the night. The match was a tight struggle, with both women showing what they were made of, Candice often resorting to underhanded tactics to gain the upper hand. However in the end the athleticsm and experience of Trish proved too much for Candice as the Womens Championship won it with the Stratusfaction. After the match, as Trish was leaving the ring, Victoria appeared on the titantron. She sarcastically congratulated Trish on such a hard fought victory, against an extremely tough opponent that no one else would ever stand a chance of beating. Following this sentence Victoria's voice became a lot lower and more serious, as she continued on by saying that Trish had better cherish that Womens Title while she can, because in two weeks at Backlash, Victoria was going to be the one to walk out with the gold, and she would stop at nothing for that to happen. She then closed the speech by saying bye to Trish before blowing her a kiss as Trish shook her head before continuing up the entrance ramp.

Backstage Todd Grisham was standing by in front of the door of Kane's locker room. Todd said that he was now going to attempt to have a word with "The Big Red Machine". He told the cameraman to wait outside for a moment before opening the door and quietly walking in. The door closed behind him, but it didn't stay closed for long as Todd appeared to be thrown out of it. The camera turned to the interviewer, who was lying on the floor, all russled up with a frightened look on his face. Kane obviously wasn't in the mood for a chat, and that could only mean trouble for his three opponents in the Main Event later on in the night.

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair faced off against Snitsky in the next match up of the evening. Both men put on a show as the match had a reasonably fast pace to it, which was suprising considering the superstars involved. Both men looked like winners on different occasions, with Flair reversing a Pumphandle Slam from Snitsky in to a Figure Four Leg Lock, in which Snitsky used all his strength to fight out of. The end of the match came when Snitsky Irish Wipped Ric in to the ropes and went for a Running Big Boot. However the 16 Time World Champion used all his experience to duck the boot, and in turn hit Snitsky with a low blow from behind. "The Dirtiest Player In The Game" certainly showed why he was known as just that, before rolling Snitsky up for the three count. Ric celebrated in the ring but it was short lived as Snitsky regained his composure and ambushed Ric from behind. He locked Ric in a Bearhug but before he could do too much damage, The World Heavyweight Champion Batista hit the ring to make the save. Snitsky slid out of the ring as "The Animal" slid in. Batista checked on Flair before lifting him up to his feet as Snitsky walked back up the entrance ramp, smiling and showing off his rotten teeth.

Todd Grisham was standing by backstage with "Y2J" Chris Jericho, one of the participants of the Fatal Four Way Main Event scheduled to take place later on in the show. Todd opened the interview by asking Jericho what his thoughts were heading in to the blockbuster Main Event, with a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at stake. Jericho replied by saying that he couldn't wait, he couldn't wait because finally....fiiiiiinaaaallllyyyy! The World Title was on it's way back to the gorgeous waist of yours truly. Todd then asked Jericho what he was going to do to walk out victorious. Jericho looked at Todd as if to say, are you serious? Before saying that he was going to do what he always does, and that's kick some ass. Jericho then said that as talented and as strong as his fellow competitors were, they were just no match for "The Ayatollah Of Rock 'N Rolla", and so after he was done with the Main Event tonight, he was going to go right on to Backlash, and he was going to take back what is rightfully his. And there's nothing that Batista nor Ric Flair can do about it. Jericho then gave Todd a friendly slap on the cheek before walking off.

As earlier announced, La Resistance took on the World Tag Team Champions The Superheros in the second last match of the night. And of course if Robert Conway and Sylvain Grenier were to win, then they would be meeting Rosey and The Hurricane once again at Backlash, with the Tag Titles on the line. The match itself was your average tag team match, with La Resistance employing the quick tag system as they isolated The Hurricane in their corner before The Hurricane escaped and tagged in his partner Rosey. Rosey unloaded on Grenier and Conway, and almost won the match with a Swinging Side Slam on Grenier. However Conway broke up the count before hitting a cheap shot on The Hurricane who was innocently standing on the ring apron. Conway then hammered away a few times at Rosey and helped his partner to his feet before distracting the referee, in turn giving Grenier the opportunity to send Rosey headfirst in to the exposed steel turnbuckle which was uncovered earlier in the match. A busted open Rosey then stumbled backwards right in to a Reverse DDT from Grenier before Grenier made the cover, with a foot on the ropes for leverage, La Resistance were able to win the match and earn a World Tag Team Title match in two weeks at Backlash.

"Captain Charisma" Christian and his "Problem Solver" Tomko were seen in their locker room backstage. Christian seemed extremely confident ahead of the Main Event coming up in a few moments. Infact, he was so confident that he already had streamers and a big banner saying "Captain Charisma.... The Next World Champion" set up around the room. Christian told Tomko to grab some drinks from the fridge before the camera focused on Christian's overjoyed face as the camera travelled out the door.

The Number One Contender for Shelton Benjamins Intercontinental Championship Muhammed Hassan cut a promo backstage. He started it off by saying that his destiny was finally going to be fulfilled, he was finally going to take his rightful place as champion. Ever since he had arrived here on Raw he had been discriminated against, and he was sick and tired of it, but thanks to General Manager Eric Bischoff, he is now going to win the Intercontinental Title at Backlash, and in the process show all the racist fans that he is better than all of them. And then they will surely respect and cheer for him. Hassan then said that it was an added bonus that the scheduled match at Backlash was a Loser Leaves Raw match, because now not only would Hassan become Intercontinental Champ, but he would also send that worthless piece of trash Shelton Benjamin away from his show. In finishing the segment Hassan spat at the camera, claiming that that is what he thought of all the people who ever doubted the greatness of him.

A few moments before the Main Event, one of the four competitors, and "Mr Money In The Bank" Edge was seen backstage walking towards the arena. With his Money In The Bank Briefcase in one hand, and his girlfriend Lita in the other, "The Rated R Superstar" looked raring to go as he let out a little roar before walking through the curtain.

The blockbuster Main Event certainly lived up to it's name. A Fatal Four Way Match for the Number One Contendership of the World Heavyweight Championship. Kane versus Chris Jericho versus Christian versus Edge, it doesn't get much bigger than that, same goes with the match itself. It was an absolute epic, with some very exciting moments and some close calls. All four men gave it everything and everyone of them had there chance to win. However only one man could, and that man was decided after twenty five minutes. Seventy seconds prior to the end of the match, Christian and Edge were down on the outside. Kane was flat on his back in the centre of the ring after an Enziguiri from Jericho. Jericho climbed up the corner turnbuckle, however just as he got to the top Kane sat up. "The Big Red Machine" scrambled to his feet before rushing over to Jericho and grasping him by the throat. Kane then lifted Jericho up, spun around, and planted "The Ayatollah Of Rock 'N Rolla" with a devastating Chokeslam. However before Kane could make the pin out of nowhere Edge slid in to the ring and speared Kane. The two tumbled through the ropes and on the ring floor. Then, all of a sudden Christian scampered in to the ring and covered Jericho. The crowd held it's breath as the ref counted the one, and the two, but Jericho kicked out a split second before the three. Christian chucked a tantram and complained to the referee as Edge began to regain his composure outside the ring. He went to climb up and back in but Kane grabbed his leg. Kane then stood up and knocked Edge down to the mat with a vicous right. Kane seemed to no longer be interested in the match, just in punishing Edge for costing him the match. Lita looked on horrified as Kane rammed her boyfriend in to the steel steps as the focus turned back in to the ring where Christian and Jericho were trading rights and lefts in the middle of the ring. Jericho gained the upperhand and Irish Whipped Christian in to the ropes, as he bounced back Jericho went for a dropkick, but Christian ducked and bounced off the ropes again. This time Jericho went for a back body drop, but Christian racked the eyes of Jericho. Christian then set up for the Unprettier, but Jericho reversed in to a Bulldog. Jericho then hit Christian with a Lionsault before making the cover and winning arguably the biggest match of his career. By now Kane had dragged Edge back up the entrance ramp and through the curtain as Jericho, nearly crying from happiness, celebrated his hard fought victory when all of a sudden Batista's music played as "The Animal" made his way down to the ring with his title over his shoulder. Batista entered the ring before getting right in to the face of Jericho. Batista then held the World Heavyweight Championship above him as the show went of the air.
