I wonder what their thought process is with this stuff. Like, how do some people (AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Jade Cargill) get to keep their names and others get new ones?

Probably a whole bunch factors like starpower / name value, whether they will sign over the right to their real name or whatever it is they do etc

While I'd agree, we have gotten Ted Dibiase Jr.

I thought he was DiBiase Jr at the beginning then they took it away after a little while. Especially cause there were points where he and his dad were on TV together.

Could be wrong though. It’s been 15 years and I haven’t really cared about Ted since the paper bag angle

Both him and Rey did in WCW yeah but dropped in WWE entirely since the seniors weren't characters. We also had Chavo Classic later instead of Jr and Sr lol
