The Witcher 3 script is 450,000 words and took 2 1/2 years to record speaking roles

Considering your average novel is about 80,000 to 100,000 words, the 450,000 words in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt script should give you some idea of its length and scope.

Side handled the voice casting and recording for The Witcher 3, under lead voice director Kate Saxon. The company claims the 50 hours of main storyline for The Witcher 3 required 950 speaking roles, taking more than two and a half years to record. The voice recording began at the end of 2012 and was finished earlier this year.

Borys Pugacz-Muraszkiewicz, who was a senior writer for The Witcher 3, acknowledged the skills required to achieve an effective performance, calling the game's vocal directors "masters of the human psyche and heart with a keen ear for language in its many regional and social variations."

Side also provided the same services for Alien: Isolation, Dragon Age: Inquisition, and Assassin's Creed: Unity.

In other Witcher 3 news, the Xbox One patch is rolling out today, which is expected to lock the frame rate at 30 FPS.

I never realized it was that much work to do the game. I've only gotten to play a handful of times and damn is it an awesome game.

This is why the video game companies need to be involved in the making of the movies that they allow to be made. There are alot of games that could be made into movies just based off of the game itself.

Witcher 3 is almost impossible to play through the whole game. I've only done about a quarter of it. It's a good game, but it gets boring after a while.. It's way too long.

I loved Witcher 3. I hadn't played the first two games. Yet, I was intrigued with the story that I was piecing together during my playthrough. I played through the main content released with the initial game. But, haven't played though any of the dlc.

I wish the first two Witcher games had better console releases because I would have got into the series much sooner. I didn't even nearly get everything in this massive game, just ran around and had fun. Hell, I enjoyed it much more than Skyrim.
