Album Listen #13: The album starts strong with the song of the same name which is obviously iconic - but the album just goes downhill from there and there isn't anything else about it that really gets me up to the same level of enjoyment again. The rest of a record as whole has no real negatives - but is just a chilled vibe and something I could stick on in the background whilst doing chores around the house. It is very middle of the road for me. And I think overtime the album has lost an element of its magic, as I certainly enjoyed it more a decade ago.

Don't you mean Ace of Base for your number 2 pick. :) Music mastery at it's finest.

Album Listen #14: London Calling is an iconic song on its own - but the rest of the album just feels like the drunk/drug infused mutterings over the top of what is actually quite good music in the background. And essentially - if a listener isn't able to enjoy the voice of the person singing then it is really hard to connect and with nineteen songs on this album dedicating an hour was a bit of a struggle. Train in the Vain resulted in me at least enjoying the end of the record - but this wasn't one for me.

I'm in the minority of folks, lyrics and singer is very much secondary to the music for me.
