The Simpsons Arcade Game Coming to XBLA andPSN

A port of classic side-scrolling beat-em-up The Simpsons Arcade Game appears to be in the works at Backbone Entertainment.
Australia's ratings board popped up with a listing for the beloved title yesterday that showed Backbone as its developer and Konami as its publisher. Konami was responsible for the game's original release in 1991 so it's no surprise to see it back for this project, which would presumably be coming to both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as a downloadable title. An iOS version was released in 2009 that looked rather nice but wasn't nearly as much fun as the original.
Backbone has developed a long list of PSN and XBLA games like Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. It's responsible for a very long list of ports including side-scrolling beat-em-ups like X-Men and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
These ratings board listings are a reliable way of finding out about game announcements ahead of time. Konami isn't willing to confirm the news just yet, but it's more than likely a matter of time.

A lot of you might not remember this game, but I do as it was really popular in the arcades back in the early 90's. Remeber pumping in a ton of quarters at aladians castle playing this. Easily the best Simpson game made that was never ported to the home consoles. Could play as 4 players, and had the choice to pick between Homer, Bart, Marge, Lisa and I think Maggie although I don't remember for sure.

I might download this for Xbox 360, I used to play this game on it's arcade machine for hours.... until I got kicked out. I came back to play it the next day of course but eventually wasn't allowed to go near the machine because I hogged it.

Downloaded this, nice trip down memory lane. Played through once already and it's a decent amount of fun. There's some easy trophies to get and the Japanese ROM also.

I got it on PS3 don't know about X Box it was $10 for me and free to playstation plus members.
