There was a time he could have been a main eventer. Hell I still don't see why they gave him that 3 on 1 comeback versus the Authority (my fav ever 5 vs 5 Survivor Series match) if you had no intention to push him

He’s not my favorite anymore like he once was, but I still like him, think he can put on good matches, sells his ass off to make others look good, very much a fan. If they ever decided to give him like a thank you pitty run with the WWE Title(they won’t) I would be the markiest mark this place has ever seen.

To be fair, anyone would’ve got overshadowed by Sting making his long awaited WWE DEBUT, anyone.
That wasn’t a thank you run. That was when he was actually over with the crowd. A thank you run to me is right before you hang up the boots, might not be that over but they strap you for a month or two to say thanks. Now you could probably argue that the NXT title run was that, possibly. Just without the retiring part.
Nah. Would have even overshadowed Roman, surely Roman at that point. Now? Maybe not now. But back then oh yeah.
