The far-right Party for Freedom led by Geert Wilders wins the most seats in parliament, according to exit polls.

Now, it looks like they got 35 seats out of 150, but they'll most likely not gain control of the government. Still, another step in a wrong, dangerous direction, not just for the Netherlands, but also Europe.

• The deal between Israel and Hamas to release hostages held in Gaza has been delayed, but the White House insists it "remains agreed" as Israeli airstrikes and ground operations continued in the Palestinian enclave. The pause in fighting will begin at midnight ET and the first 13 hostages will be handed over at 9 a.m. ET tomorrow, Qatar said.
• Israel has vowed to continue its military campaign in Gaza after the deal, which will also involve the release of 150 Palestinians from Israeli jails. Israeli leaders say they will target southern Gaza, where they say Hamas leaders are among the masses who have fled, but where bombardment and a lack of shelter, water and food have created a mounting humanitarian crisis.

Department of Corrections spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo said Pistorius would be released from prison on Jan. 5. His parole will come with conditions, including that he not leave the area of Pretoria where he is set to live without permission from authorities. Pistorius will also attend a program to deal with his anger issues, Nxumalo said, and will have to perform community service.
