I don't really understand what Elon Musk wants to actually do with Twitter. He wants his staff to work long hours on a platform where all you do is post comments and memes. Why does all of that require 60 to 80+ hours a week constantly? If this were Amazon or Tesla I would have an easier time understanding because they actually sell products, but isn't Twitter just a mediocre service at best?

^ Ill add that even if they did sell a product, making a profit isn't a valid reason to force overtime. making money isn't an essential service. Not that you yourself are implying this but the notion that anyone is expected to work long ass hours for something that's not essential to everyday life imo is a con job

If my job fired half my coworkers and then told me I'd have to work more hours bc of it or take 3 months severance pay they wouldn't even be able to finish the word severance before I was out the door lmao

I am to the point where if I work overtime which is pretty regular. I think it should be untaxed income as I am giving up time to my family and others I should be able to get rest money without being taxed on it.

Taxes are important but the only way we will fix the issues is a flat tax across the board.

Everyone pays 10% regardless of income and abolish the tax returns pay your taxes with your income and move on.

I'm curious. The way Elon Musk wants people to work isn't that outdated? I mean technology has advanced by leaps and bounds and the standard for full time work is still 40 hours a week? I don't know but how many jobs actually require 40 works a week to do in 2022, and I've always wondered what's the point of having advanced technology if we still need to put in the same hours the Boomer generation did?

I probably work a little over 40 hours myself most weeks with longer hours at month end due to deadlines. Get good accommodations tho, legit can just ask to work from home a few days if I felt like it and they'd say yeah

A lot of the hourly jobs try and cap their employees right before 40 to ahoud OT tho, my last boss was always a dick about that if he saw someone getting paid overtime on a check bc he assumed they werent working hard enough in the first 40 hours dude was such a cunt
