Too busy throwing black men in prison.
Or keeping them there for free labor

Also saw AOC doesn't want her unless it's a doctored video

(LEX 18) — Former Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis is appealing a jury's decision which ruled that she would have to pay $100,000 to a gay couple after she denied them a marriage license back in 2015.

The brief filed in the Sixth District Court of Appeals read that Davis argued that granting the marriage license violated her religious beliefs.

As part of the brief, lawyers for Davis argued that the 2015 Supreme Court decision to legalize gay marriage should be overruled.

Davis is being represented by the Liberty Counsel, which bills itself as taking on cases that involve religious liberties. The Southern Law Center reportedly has designated the firm as a "hate group."

Oh no look at that, and now Gay Marriage might be on the chopping block thanks to a conservative SC majority and Thomas demanding it be brought back in the past so he can specifically overturn it.

I made a detailed case back when a certain other member was here why I thought gay marriage would be more protected from a reversal unlike Roe; however, thankfully since then, Congress and the White House actually did their jobs for once, and codified equal marriage protections into national law.

Yeah, if the Supreme Court does overturn Obergefell , it'll also be a huge negative for Republicans during the election.

Unlike abortion that was a state issue prior to Roe, any state that issues marriage licenses would be subject to federal and constitutional civil rights protections.

So technically Obergefell could be compromised since they did use the 14th amendment like Roe for their justification, but I can’t imagine they would completely overturn it regardless just because there’s so many other reasons for it to still be constitutionally protected already in the constitution, and with Biden’s respect for marriage law, codified into national law.

A search of a laptop linked to the 20-year-old gunman who attempted to assassinate former President Trump earlier this month revealed he had searched for information on John F. Kennedy's assassination before the shooting, FBI Director Christopher Wray told lawmakers on Wednesday.

What I found interesting is before this happened, there have been a lot of documentaries on JFK's assassination on Tubi showing up in the recommendations. Like weeks before. I know it's nothing, but an interesting coincidence.

Rupert Murdoch is in a secret legal battle pitching the ageing mogul and his heir apparent, Lachlan Murdoch, against three of his other children, according to documents seen by the New York Times.

Murdoch, 93, is attempting to secure Lachlan Murdoch’s control of the family’s media empire by changing the terms of a family trust that would have also given younger brother James, sister Elisabeth and half-sister Prudence a say in how the company is run.

  • President Joe Biden addressed the nation tonight from Oval Office in a speech that will be replayed throughout history.
  • Biden explained his decision to end his re-election campaign, saying he was putting personal ambition aside "in the defense of democracy."
  • Biden didn't mention former President Donald Trump by name, but the implication was clear: He sees Trump as a threat to the republic and doesn't believe he has the best shot to beat him in the November election.
  • Biden praised Vice President Kamala Harris, whom he endorsed for president, as "experienced," "tough" and "capable."
  • “I have decided the best way forward is to pass the torch to a new generation. That is the best way to unite our nation,” Biden said.

Probably the best case scenario actually. Admitted he was in the wrong, admitted he wasn't sure he could beat Trump, and instead opted to pass the torch to a younger candidate.

Really kind of a big blow to Republicans who now don't exactly have a leg to stand on regarding Trump's age.

I’m gonna be honest, though I am going to side eye every single person that tries to use trump’s age against him because they would’ve all backed Biden if he didn’t step down, personally.

But yeah, Biden got it right and hit the nail on the head. Said exactly what needed to be said. It takes a lot of self reflection to realize you’re not the man for the job.

Great speech and also ironically clear as to WHY he needs to step down. The words were fantastic, the delivery was not. It’s clear this is not the same man and absolutely could no way in hell handle another four years in office.

I think he touched on all the right points and it did make me emotional seeing a man who’s been in politics for 50 years give himself up for his country one last time. He reminds me of my own grandfather: a good man who always put others before himself.

I wish him all the best in his last 6 months and I hope that Kamala can put a nail in Trump once and for all.
