I just thought it would be longer. He literally hardly goes into any detail. All he says is that kids don't know grammar. I was like... ok?

But to comment on the article, I kind of agree but not fully. I don't think you can call kids unintelligent just because they don't know authors from before 1900. If you're not an English major, then you have no real reason to know these authors so I think that's a stupid argument. As far as poor grammar goes, this may be true. I definitely think that being able to write well is important for most jobs but the problem may not be with our generation. Some people just don't care. As much as I hate to admit it, when I was little, I hated writing. Never enjoyed it so I didn't try to make it good. However, I loved reading more than anything so it depends on the person. As I've gotten older, I kind of decided to start caring more about writing because I realize the value and my writing assignments have gotten significantly better grades than when I was younger. I think if anything, you need to convince children the importance of what they're learning means.

Kids today can't do math without a calculator.

Also.....I knew authors who were before the 1900s because PBS would use their stories and credit the actual author.

Could argue that it's just adapting bc calculators are more widespread now since they're on our phone. Why need learn it by hand when you don't have to? I personally just like learning new things and why it works before I put it in any kind of machine just so I know of the answer it gives me is fucked up bc I made a typo or something instead of just going with that answer, but I can't really blame other people for not feeling that way when they can open up a calculator in 5 seconds

Wait.. do they really not make kid's do long form Math in School anymore? If you were in Math class, you weren't allowed to use a calculator and if you did the work at home, you'd have to show your work. I'm with Deezy 100% on this because just lettin' them use calculators is just gonna make them dumber.

all that adaptation won't meaa thing when the power goes out.

Relying on servitude of others bring down empires....and technology is nothing but servers who are weakening this society.

I wasn't allowed to use a calculator until 8th grade but I'm 22 so idk anymore. I know when I was in college though we still had to learn it all the long way in like my finance classes and then they'd show us the calculator way like halfway through the semester
