I giggled when he said that. One line doesn't make a good promo though lol. Do you seriously sit there with this face on when he talks about the people constantly -> :yay:?

If i'm being 100% honest, I wasn't jumping out of my chair for it, but it wasn't awful. At the end of the day I believe he did come back for the fans (a whole different argument)

The Rock hasn't been as awful as people make it out to be, but he hasn't exactly been amazing either. He's just meh.
He'll say a line or two that'll make you laugh and maybe even mark, but overall he's been really underwhelming. This coming from a HUGE Rock fan, and Punk ''h8r''. I doubt we'll talk about any of his promos in weeks to come, aside from the one-liners. I do think people get carried away on the hate though, not everyone's going to be shooting and dropping " :pipebomb: " week in, week out. Even if Rock was heel, he wouldn't be breaking kayfabe much.
I don't tune out when The Rock is on the mic, I actually like seeing him on TV, but I haven't been jumping around and marking like a little girl. It was nice seeing him comeback (his first promo was actually pretty good), and it's nice seeing him as Champion again (and even then we were all mostly talking about how lame the finish was), but that's about it.

WWE knew before hand that he wasn't going to be available on 'X' dates therefore I guess it's alright in all honesty. He won't remain the WWE champion after WM so it doesn't really matter, I guess. It's just a way for John Cena to get the Championship as well as giving John Cena a win over him while The Rock adds more credibility to the championship that CM Punk added to it recently.

Its mostly because people are yearning for the ae rock. They remember fond stories of rock snatching the Mic from some nobody back stage and going on a rant about shoving stuff up guys assess and knowing rolls, shutting mouths, jabroni drives and smackdown hotels amongst other stuff. We aren't getting that type of rock. We're getting suck up rock. And some of us are disappointed because our expectations are set by the past rock, while others are just happy with any rock and/or their bar for Rocky is set by current guys.

Has no relevance to this discussion, lol. It does bother me when Rock marks shit on users who criticize them and then accuse/label them of being Punk marks and Rock haters. I love Rocky, he's just not entertaining me at all and I'll post about that.

Well it does have revelance to the conversation. If he is talking about the fans and I believe that he is there for them. That would mean I buy the promo and hold it to be better.

Jericho returns constantly to put younger talent over, he doesn't go on about it in every single promo :pity2:

True, but Jericho also wasn't dubbed the "People's Champion." Jericho would constantly say "I'm the the best in the world at what I do"

Punk Constantly says "I'm the best in the world"
Ryback constantly says "feed me more"

They all go to their schtick, Rock just happens to be doing it for the people right now.

That's his catch phrase, I'm not complaining about that. I'm complaining about the time spent with lines like "The people do matter. You all have voices. I am here for the people, and the people want this bla bla bla" lol.

Too corny, it's something Cena would say if the people actually liked him :lol1:

I mean i get what you're saying. It was the first Raw after winning the title in 10 years. Who else was he supposed to thank? I don't know. I bought the promo as geniune(maybe not his best ever) but this is the part where we have to agree to disagree, because we've exausted all options.

Good talk brother.

But he cut more or less the same promo before his RR match, so that gets rid of that theory.

I'm convinced if Cena cut those promos people would make thread after thread with hate. Oh well, no big deal, I got Punk to entertain me :pipebomb:.

This is fine because Lesnar is back so he'll fill that void for Rock. I also expect Punk to go shoot on Rock for not being at Raw, which'll also be something to see.
