Jeff Hardy was telling people that he joined TNA due to the company's easier schedule, since they made a deal where he wasn't going to have to work any house shows. AAA made a similar offer to him, but that would entail flying to Mexico, and they never made a firm money offer.

Those affiliated with WWE were in constant contact with Hardy the day following his TNA debut in hope that he would change his mind and return to the company . However, it should be noted that WWE's pursuit of Hardy came even after news broke that he was being indicted on drug charges from his arrest last September (felony possession of cocaine, felony drug trafficking of opium, two counts of felony possession with intent to redistribute a Schedule III drug, maintaining a dwelling for drug use and/or distribution and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia).

WrestlingINC.com reports that WWE's apparent interest in overlooking the PR backlash that bringing Hardy back would entail is being seen by some as an indication that the company is not completely viewing TNA as irrelevant.

It should be noted that neither Jeff Hardy or Shannon Moore were backstage at the last TNA iMPACT! taping and were not at Genesis last night either.

First of all, this proves what I have said all along. If TNA continues to push this limited schedule concept, and use it to their advantage rather than backing themselves into a wall, this could be very huge for TNA down the line and a huge indirectly related to wrestling altering effect for WWE to compete with.

Secondly, if Jeff is cleared somehow of those towering charges, and at least allowed wrestling, this is a huge win and advantage for TNA's recent talent acquisitions.

Finally, the fact that WWE was perusing Jeff even after all of this, says that not only they see the value in Jeff, but additionally confirms that WWE is NOT simply blowing off TNA as a non-threat in the wrestling industry.

Any more thoughts...

I just think that WWE wants Princess Jeffy back for WrestleMania. Looking at the fact that Jeff was one of their hottest faces the past couple of years, if they could get him back, they would. Whether they view TNA as relevant or not isn't the issue, it's a matter of getting one of their most popular performers back for the biggest show of the year.

Still, on the topic of the lighter workload, ie house shows, TNA has had a lot of trouble successfully running house shows because it doesn't have all the bigger names on the road. WWE's house shows, on the other hand, feature most of the big stars, save for Undertaker and HBK, and usually attract good business. TNA is only focusing on the TV product, while neglecting the other live shows, so the lighter schedule thing isn't all it's cracked up to be.

If Jeff goes to TNA, he will lose all the steam he has imo.

Yea, but if TNA ever wants to be on the WWEs level, they will have to book more house shows and hold more events outside the comfort of Orlando.

Plenty. The lack of dates isn't a plus, it's a minus. It might be a plus to workers, but it's a huge minus to TNA. A lack of dates indicates a lack of demand, lower pay, less exposure. TNA's a safe haven for lazy, busted workers who love their drugs or guys whom WWE has no interest in or are using TNA to raise their stock in E. You work fewer dates, you make less money. Hardy was down this road in 2004-05 when he went to TNA. What happened? Not enough money, lack of a push, back in the E.

It could be a win for TNA if he is indeed acquitted, if not they look like a bunch of jackasses and a criminal impound. The E probably had a heads up on the indictment and have more lawyers than TNA has employees and they have a Wellness Program that has received compliments from law enforcement. Who really is in the best position to help Jeff beat this rap? Who has helped Jeff beat his demons before and given him a second and third chance? Who made him the star?

Hardy isn't stupid, he knows if he goes down while under the E spotlight he will face far more scrutiny by the media, as compared to being a member of a relatively unknown "B" promotion. Plus maybe he's already been legally advised that he might have to do some time and to take the easiest exit out and enjoy his life and freedom while he still can. Maybe he's just using TNA as a stepping stone to not ruin his future with WWE. Who can really say he is speaking the truth? Wrestling is a business filled with lies and egos. He could be protecting his image. This is just second hand news from "people".

I still fail to see how you think they're fearing TNA. They wanted Hardy back because he was their most over face and they can use him properly to garner what they put into him. It's never worked for TNA when they take an E star. Angle? Foley? Hogan barley raised the ratings and that was all due to an hour unopposed by Raw. It's not "fear" or "concern" as much as it is wanting their cash cow back and perhaps to help him again as they are in better position than TNA.

Yeah, I don't think it's an issue about TNA but more of just getting back Jeff Hardy. Last summer, WWE was negociating with Rey Mysterio and trying to avoid him going to AAA. That doesn't mean they see AAA as a threat for example.

And I said before and Cenamark brought it up as well. If TNA wants to grow, eventually they will drop their schedule. In fact, just by going live the schedule will suffer a huge change.

He's referring to the other thread with a different title which insinuates practically the exact same thing and contains the same information.

"WrestlingINC.com reports that WWE's apparent interest in overlooking the PR backlash that bringing Hardy back would entail is being seen by some as an indication that the company is not completely viewing TNA as irrelevant."

So WWE wanting to reap the fruits of their investment means they are taking TNA seriously?

...Wrestle-hacks suck!
