Ronaldo is in Spain and Spain is a much better cultural fit for Ronaldo other than Portugal itself. It's not just money, it's the idea that Ronaldo is in the biggest club of the world, and Ronaldo is the most popular footballer in the world and that is a marketing dream by itself. I mean, Ronaldo's kits sold more than just about every club with the exception of Man Utd/Barcelona. Yes, I'm sure Ronaldo misses Man Utd, but whenever SAF retired, the chances of getting Ronaldo was slim to none. Besides, Ronaldo got a chance to be a captain for Real Madrid and potentially be the best forward to ever grace the Real Madrid kit too. Ronaldo is not leaving until he is past his prime and if he is leaving, I do see him going back to Man Utd, but I could also see him go to Portugal or MLS. Just not anywhere where it's exactly a new challenge whether it is going to the likes of Juventus, PSG, Bayern.
