I don’t think everyone who has issues with the rankings are attempting to troll. There were some flaws in the way rankings were presented in the past that’s left a bad taste in people’s mouths.
Like I don’t personally feel it’s necessary. I feel keeping records is great, but leave yourself opportunity to tell the stories you want to.
Now, I also don’t think the rankings will ruin AEW. It has potential to compliment television well if you have a plan in place to move people up the rankings as you book towards preconceived outcomes.
I would say the main thing Tony needs to be cognizant of is having a proper Bible of all the wins, records and planned upcoming matches and PPVs in advance so that way he doesn’t accidentally find himself in criticism for not following the rankings.
It was said earlier that with Dark gone that should alleviate the issue of records not seen by everyone and Tony should have ironed out the kinks from seeing previous complaints with people like FTR.
Tony says 2024 will be great. Let’s have faith in him.
