Judge extends order blocking Trump administration from revoking Harvard's ability to enroll foreign students

The judge said she would leave the temporary restraining order blocking the Trump administration in place until it can be replaced with a preliminary injunction.

A federal judge said she is extending a temporary order on Thursday to block the Trump administration's revocation of Harvard University's ability to enroll international students.

The extension came after the Trump administration said it would give Harvard 30 days to challenge its revocation, according to a letter attached to the Wednesday night court filing.

The court document states that the Department of Homeland Security is asking Harvard "to submit sworn statements and documentary or other evidence to rebut the grounds for withdrawal of certification" under the federal Student and Exchange Visitor Program, which allows Harvard to enroll foreign students.

About that Polish election:

In the second round, according to an exit poll by Ipsos, Rafał Trzaskowski won 50.3% of the vote and Karol Nawrocki won 49.7%, however, the margin of 0.6% was within the margin of error. Shortly after the poll was released, Trzaskowski claimed victory giving a speech to supporters in Warsaw.[232] The late poll, released by Ipsos at 11 p.m., indicated that Nawrocki had flipped the race and is in the lead with 50.7% of the vote against Trzaskowski’s 49.3%. However, this late poll also included polling data from the days leading up to the election and is also within the margin of error.

(Far-right populist) Trzaskowski is trumping it. If that late poll flip towards Nawrocki turns out to become the actual result, there is no chance in hell this won't turn out to become a complete shitshow. Think of the aftermath of the 2020 US Presidential election, but with an actual result that is within the margin of error.

It turns out that the sprawling legislation to advance tax and spending cuts and to cement much of President Trump’s domestic agenda included a raft of provisions that drew little notice or debate on the House floor. And now, Republicans who rallied behind the bill are claiming buyer’s remorse about measures they swear they did not know were included.

Last week, Representative Mike Flood of Nebraska admitted during a town hall meeting in his district that he did not know that the bill would limit judges’ power to hold people in contempt for violating court orders. He would not have voted for the measure, he said, if he had realized.

And as lawmakers returned to Washington on Tuesday after their weeklong break, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia said that she had been unaware that the mega-bill she voted for would block states from regulating artificial intelligence for a decade.

“Full transparency, I did not know about this section,” Ms. Greene posted on social media, calling it a violation of states’ rights and adding that she “would have voted NO if I had known this was in there.”

Yeah, I seen so many videos of alot of them not knowing half the shit in it. It's ridiculous. Basically signing it because Trump is all it is at this point.

They included so many last minute changes and then rushed it on purpose so people wouldn't have a chance to read it, not that I think most of the ones voting yes would have changed their mind anyway though.

I think Musk threatening their reelection campaigns next year is why the new pushback is happening
