President Donald Trump on Monday agreed to pause the implementation of planned tariffs on imports from Canada for at least 30 days, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said.

The pause was announced in a tweet by Trudeau hours after Trump and Mexico’s president said Trump would pause for one month planned tariffs on imports from Mexico.

I'm not sure people should celebrate what Canada's and Mexico's leaders are doing, because if you think about it, they are basically make concessions.

Going into negotiations with Trump's government about these tariffs is kind of a win for Trump, because they can easily claim their preposterous lies about the amount of fentanyl, guns and illegal immigrants that "Canada and Mexico lets into the US" can only be true, because otherwise Mexico and Canada wouldn't have accepted a deal etc.

I only hope Scheinbaum and Trudeau are just fucking with Trump and it turns out them sending military personnel to their borders is actually to just fuck with Americans trying to bring shit over the borders.

I honestly don’t care who gets the credit on the United States side, but I do want to commend Justin Trudeau on behalf of Canada for agreeing to do this. This is huge.

More than anything else when it comes to border issues, I have a personal interest in hoping to prevent more fentanyl deaths. Thank you, brothers, sisters and enbies from north of the border.
