I haven't heard specifics myself but it wouldn't surprise me. The law is super strict but has exceptions for "if the mother's life is in danger" but the lack of clinics available probably make that an unrealistic exception to actually maintain

Seni-related note, I wonder if that pregnant woman who was pushing back against her ticket for driving in the 2+ people carpool lane ever won. She said the unborn child was a person according to the new law so she could use it and personally, I'm cool with pregnant women using those regardless lol

The Atlantic has now published the full group chat and the White House has officially claimed it's a trump hating hoax.

I'm halfway through and interview with the guy that was accidentally added to it and bro it's insane. The only part that surprised me a tad was JD Vance stook up for his stance decently before caving, even saying Trump supports the bombs but he "doesn't really understand it" which lmaoooooo

Headlined "Here Are the Attack Plans That Trump's Advisers Shared on Signal", the new Atlantic article's byline includes Jeffrey Goldberg, the magazine's editor who wrote the original story explaining that he'd been added to the group chat.

The new article includes extensive screenshots of the text exchanges.

Here is a summary of what we've learned:

  • Goldberg says he's written a follow-up piece because people deserve to see the texts as they are in the public interest following claims by Trump officials that Goldberg had been lying.
  • His team reached out to the US agencies involved in the group chat asking if they objected to his publishing of the texts. Some replied they did indeed object.
  • The text chain in the chat began at 11:44 am EDT on 15 March, 31 minutes before the first US warplanes launched, with Pete Hegseth announcing an incoming update. What follows includes mention of weapons, the target, and the target's location.
  • A follow-up text soon afterwards again mentions further weapons and timings.
  • That is followed by a text from Mike Waltz at 1:48 EDT pm containing real-time intelligence about the US attack in Yemen.
  • This led to the wave of positive responses from members of the chat that was reported earlier.
  • Later that afternoon, Hegseth posted an update that attacks would go on through the night.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld a Biden administration rule that regulates unserialized firearms called ghost guns, delivering a win for federal efforts to curb gun violence.

The high court ruled 7-2 in finding that the rule from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is not facially inconsistent with federal firearms law. Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito dissented. Justice Neil Gorsuch authored the opinion for the majority.

"The GCA embraces, and thus permits ATF to regulate, some weapon parts kits and unfinished frames or receivers, including those we have discussed," Gorsuch wrote, referencing the Gun Control Act of 1968.

The Trump administration intends to terminate the United States’ financial support for Gavi, the organization that has helped purchase critical vaccines for children in developing countries, saving millions of lives over the past quarter century, and to significantly scale back support for efforts to combat malaria, one of the biggest killers globally.

The administration has decided to continue some key grants for medications to treat H.I.V. and tuberculosis, and food aid to countries facing civil wars and natural disasters.

Those decisions are included in a 281-page spreadsheet that the United States Agency for International Development sent to Congress Monday night, listing the foreign aid projects it plans to continue and to terminate. The New York Times obtained a copy of the spreadsheet and other documents describing the plans.

The Department of Health and Human Services has abruptly canceled more than $12 billion in federal grants to states that were being used for tracking infectious diseases, mental health services, addiction treatment and other urgent health issues.

The cuts are likely to further hamstring state health departments, which are already underfunded and struggling with competing demands from chronic diseases, resurgent infections like syphilis and emerging threats like bird flu.

State health departments began receiving notices on Monday evening that the funds, which were allocated during the Covid-19 pandemic, were being terminated, effective immediately.

President Trump said he would impose a 25 percent tariffs on cars that are imported into the United States on Wednesday.

The tariffs will apply to finished cars and trucks that are shipped into the United States, including American brands whose automobiles are assembled overseas, and could raise prices for consumers significantly. Nearly half of all vehicles sold in the United States are imported.

“This is very exciting,” Mr. Trump said during remarks from the Oval Office. He said he would sign an executive order “that’s going to lead to tremendous growth in the automotive industry.”

:francis Or, or, you could incentivize American companies into returning factories to the US by offering subsidies in addition to strategic tariffs on imported goods, enacting a price freeze on American companies who import their goods so they are banned from raising prices in retaliation to imports.

Target companies, not the consumer.
