Nothing will probably come from it but like it's not surprising, Russia has already been proven in the past to be buying out right wing media analysts to push fascist and nazi ideology in an attempt to weaken American culture.
destabilizing the west is part of Putins book im p sure

Correct but what I meant is nothing will happen to Tim Pool, or anyone else who took money from Russia.

Of course I'm also a weirdo who thinks if you're a private citizen/public figure and you take money from foreign powers to help destabilize, spread misinformation, or generally cause issues with an ongoing election, you deserve to be expatriated and deported from the country.

A bit hard to justify the US Government punishing people to that extent when they've done the same to destabilize other countries themselves tho but I'm obviously not saying nothing should happen either

Los Angeles CNN — Hunter Biden is attempting to resolve his federal tax evasion case in California with a plea where he maintains his innocence but will accept punishment, his lawyers announced in court Thursday, moments before jury selection was scheduled to begin.

The arrangement won’t be final until District Judge Mark Scarsi, a Trump appointee who has presided over the tax case, gives his stamp of approval in open court. The court is now on break and will resume at 2 p.m. ET.

This type of arrangement, called an “Alford plea,” would see Biden acknowledge that special counsel David Weiss has enough evidence to convict him – and then he would accept whatever sentence Scarsi eventually hands down.

  • At least four people were killed in a shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, according to law enforcement sources out of the state. About 30 more were injured, although it’s unclear how many of the injuries are from gunshot wounds, the sources said.
  • A suspect is in custody, according to authorities.
  • Video from outside the school, which is located in a community about an hour outside of Atlanta, shows several ambulances and a large active police presence.
  • Grady Health System in Atlanta has received one gunshot wound patient from the shooting via helicopter, according to a hospital spokesperson.
I just had a fella on the racing forum i visit blame school shootings on social media. So I did some digging, and I even got very fucking technical, like super. The first social media site was May 1997. There were 368 school shootings before that site launched. That was me be getting technical, because that’s not social media as we truly know it today.

Even if you make that argument bc this was a 14 year old and you say he was bullied, I don't think social media is why the adults have killed elementary school kids in Uvalde and Sandy Hook.

Columbine kids were bullied pre social media too so just a stupid "no I believe it's this and no facts will be good enough to change my mind" mindset

Exactly. They care way more about their guns than they do about kids in school. Like honestly, Sandy Hook should’ve been the straw that broke the camels back, after that and nothing changed, I knew at that point nothing would get through to them.

The thing is even, a lot of us don’t want an outright ban, just better gun legislation tbh. Like nothing will stop 100% of shootings, it’s way too many on the streets that can be bought illegally. But that not a reason to just sit around and do nothing.

Update, he's pleading guilty instead

Hunter Biden has pleaded guilty to all nine charges in his federal tax case on Thursday, and the judge has accepted his plea.

Sentencing is scheduled for December 16, notably after November’s presidential election. The prosecution did not object to the date, which was proposed by the judge.

Biden had earlier attempted to resolve his federal tax evasion case in California with a so-called “Alford plea,” in which he would maintain his innocence but still accept punishment.

I love the phrasing of it "the so-called 'Alford plea.'"

It's basically another way of pleading No Contest lol

This would be why the dad is being charged

Colin Gray told investigators this week he had purchased the gun used in the killings as a holiday present for his son in December 2023, according to two law enforcement sources with direct knowledge of the investigation.

One source told CNN the AR-15-style rifle was purchased at a local gun store as a Christmas present. The timeline the teen’s father provided to authorities would put the gun purchase months after authorities first contacted Gray and his family to investigate school shooting threats made online.

This guy was already contacted that his son had made threats and he bought him a gun anyway

The US economy added fewer jobs than expected in August while the unemployment rate ticked lower.

Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics released Friday showed the labor market added 142,000 nonfarm payroll jobs in August, fewer additions than the 165,000 expected by economists.

Meanwhile, the unemployment rate fell to 4.2%, from 4.3% in July. August job additions came in higher than the revised 89,000 added in July. Additionally, revisions to the June and July labor reports showed the US economy added 86,000 fewer jobs than initially reported in those months.
