The uniqueness of the United States that brings its own set of challenges was the desire to balance a centralized government with the individual state that technically means nation. Which has been the root of most of American politics since the first parties were the Federalists and the Anti-Federalists. It’s a tricky game figuring out what’s up to the state and what’s up to the Fed.

The law was challenged to the Supreme Court though who deemed it not against the Constitution.

That is how the process should work. They should rule on legislation. Not legislate from the bench.

Where in the Constitution does it say the fed can ban drugs? They needed an amendment for alcohol.
