I mean, this sounds more like this town failed than anything. If it had a full police force, a swat team and a school presence on campus, they majorly failed their town, their citizens and their kids. Having cops that aren’t willing to do their job is basically like having no cops at and the fact they were at the door and didn’t go in is a complete indictment on their failure as cops and more importantly men. They definitely could have saved so many lived if they all weren’t complete and utter cowards and failures.

The system keeps failing us. How many stories are there where the feds were aware of an active shooter months in advance…

That’s where I disagree. You need to vet people that will actually do their jobs. There are plenty of police officers that actually put their life on the line in the name of duty. This town just had a bunch of worthless piles of garbage, apparently.

It’s so unbelievably unfortunate and such a disaster for public moral and trust like you said.

I'm no Abbot fan but this was the day after I believe and since the other details have came out, he's slammed the police department for their response and also for basically straight up lying about the timeline of events before this press conference so yeah it aged poorly but he's also changed his opinion with new info which is a fairly tough ask for a politician usually even if this time was to save his own skin

The reports of the kids calling 911 asking for cops to be sent when they were busy trying to crowd control worried parents instead of saving them....don't see how anyone can excuse it but of course the usual loonies are already trying. This dude at work was boasting about whatever "unbiased" podcast he listens to that's so much better than regular news and he was under the impression that the school didn't even have cops, not sure if he ever accepted there were any actually there or not but it was getting pretty heated in the break room. He was trying to tell us the border patrol guy that eventually killed the guy was the first person on site bro
