Let's be honest what the fuck is economic sanctions gonna do? It'll do fuck all.

What sucks is you can't even threaten military action because the nuclear option already exists. So the world is simply stuck in a situation where all the major world powers can and will beat up on the weaker nations if they were so inclined to.

depends how deep the sanctions are. you CAN cut off Russia from the rest of the world economically like we did in the cold war, but Germany and rest of Europe have to be on board. It will take some short term sacrifice but its a big lie that anyone NEEDS them at all.

either that or we admit more nations into nato and build up more bases up their fucking asses but that's more an escalation and not really going to solve much. Our best bet is the hope the ol man chokes on his steak (Putin)

I know, that is a somewhat of a joke, but in Russia people have wanted to bring back the Czar title instead of President and be known as the United Russian Empire. And honestly, as mentioned before, Russia wouldn't be happy until it conquered the previous countries under the Soviet Union, as well as the -stans countries, Turkey, and maybe even Syria and Iraq because they would control majority oil, natural gas, and opium across the board. The idea of the "modern Russian empire" is one more based on global economy more so than "let's spread communism".
