Based on a true story: in 1941, a Russian WWII pilot crash-lands deep in enemy territory. Seriously injured, he must battle hunger, extreme cold, and wild animals—all while evading Nazi soldiers—if he is ever to make it home alive.

This movie came out last year in Russia, and it is a good one. Pyotr Fyodorov has done well in the recent Russian WW II films he has been a part of. This one is based on Aleksey Maresyev, who became a war hero in the Soviet Air Force, after the incident this is based on.

Yeah, I seen it was out in 2021 over there. Looks to be 2022 everywhere else, although I can't find a release date anywhere yet.

I'd actually probably watch this, I love a good war movie. Especially if it's based on true events.

I couldn't find one either because I knew this movie looked familiar.

Cool, and it does take some liberties, though not quite as much as most "based on true events/story" movies, but still. His actual story is pretty insane, but it made hi, a Soviet War Hero.
