It was a good first edition.. and it is a fine step for the company, for the product as their DVD sells are not going very well. I looked at the results for the first 5 episodes and i can say they will be interesting. The roster at the moment is looking sharp.. maybe a little more support from the crowd.. i mean this is ROH! They were quiet the whole time. The matches should be faster.. the new booking team should work more.

I think the crowd noise was due to the microphones/cameras being closer/inside the ring. You could really hear the mat bounce, the referee and the wrestling in the ring. But i agree, a little more fan support could have made it better.

This may just be because I don't watch ROH or pay attention to it much, but the way they portrayed the Jacobs/Black promos and feud made it seem like that main event should be in the upper card if not main eventing a PPV. Is it just me? Anyways, really good first show for them and I'll be watching more in the future.

I've never seen any ROH matches. I don't get this channel either. So I'll be watching just the streaming of the show until I do or if I do. I don't know any of the people cept Jerry Lynn, but the way the reveiws are make it seem like a good show.

so last night was ROH's debut on HDNet. i did watch it as planned and i gotta say i wasn't really digging it in all honestly. maybe it was just because i was expected more or at least some better guys on the show.

The new commentator with Dave Prazak kind of sucks in all honesty and he kind of makes me feel like im watching it with some old country nascar analist that doesn't know much about wrestling. and dave just sounded depressed throughout the show. i mean i would think dave would have sounds a little more hyper and act like he was excited. i mean i have heard him sound like that before on a regular show and with this being there big debut it would seem like he would sound more upbeat but he sounded depressed. maybe he doesn't like his new partner.

Next thing i would like to say is the crowed kind of sucked. it did not seem like an ROH Show to me. i don't know if they just let a lot of random old people and kids into the door or what but this crowed kind of sucked for the most part. im wondering where they were.

an ROH Crowed would be perfect for HDNet because HD net is uncut and has cuss words and stuff like that. so they could chant "you're going to get your fucking head kicked in" and everything would be perfect. and i think the croweds are a big part of what makes ROH Special and it just didn't seem like an ROH Crowed.

on to the matches.

Delirious vs Jerry Lynn.

Decent match but should not have been an opener. they should have had a tag match or have some high flyers for the opener because this match just seemed kind of stale and to kick off your show you need something better than a bit of a boring match. if you're trying to hook new fans this will not get them to stay.

Kenny King vs Sammy Calinyhan?

i think that was his name. anyways this sammy guy didn't impress me at all. it was my first time seeing him. and nothing he did impress me. i hope he isn't an ROH full time guy now. and honestly i don't see why they couldn't have just put Kenny in there with Pelle or something. but anyways Kenny King was awesome as always and is probably the version of shelton benjamin the WWE wish they had.

Rhett Titus vs Brent Albright.

not really a fan of albright. this again was just a decent match. basically to put albright over.

then we had some backstage interviews with tyler black and jimmy jacobs which were good. i haven't watched ROH in a while and it seems the age of the fall is no more. and then they shown some clips of austin aries and jimmy jacobs beating tyler black down and they didn't really explain it to good why aries hates tyler although they did explain why tyler and jimmy were feuding. but then they showed how aries looks now and i was like WTH is up with that porn star Joey "Magnum" Ryan look from WSX.

Main Event

Jimmy Jacobs vs Tyler Black.

Good match. wish it would have gone longer. the show actually ended like 6 or 7 mins early i think. im not sure if it was because there was only 1 set of commercials in the whole show (which i will get to) or if the tapings just ran short. but the match was pretty good and im glad jimmy jacobs got to come out to his music :]

Overall it was a decent show. just not as good as it could have been and i feel it should have been.

No Nigel
No Dragon
No Claudio
No Briscoes
No Aries
No Strong
No Hero
No Steenerico
No Richards

Just a lot of big name guys left off of the card that i feel should have been on the show in some way. especially Nigel since he's your champion. and Dragon since he's like your franchise guy and then the briscoes being your franchise tag team.

Now 1 thing i do like about them being on HD Net is that there was only 1 set of commercials around the 22 min mark and then they wasn't very long at all and then we just had the show until it was over followed by more commercials until the next show came on. no i really like the format of there commercials i wish other wrestling shows had it.

Next Week we have Nigel vs Jay Briscoe

Should be a good match although pretty obvious who will win.

but like i said it was a pretty good show overall. just not as good as i would have liked it to be. im really surprised they didn't have any sort of tag team match. but hopefully it will get better as time go's on and either the new commentator will grow on me or i will grow to hate him and hope he gets replaced.

They recored their first 5 shows in 1 night.. So yeah, don't expect all those guys on the first show.

Well, 6 shows in 2 days....so 3 shows a night.

Certainly ROH's setup for the show isn't great like Adampro mentioned, and these are more introductory episodes. No sense really putting on GREAT shows, when the emphasis is still for the fans to get the dvds/PPVs. For whats its worth, it thought it was alright.

I didnt see it, but on the new dvds they feature a 1 minute video of other releases. I was very surprised to not see on the show, or promoting the ppv. I thought was odd.

Jerry Lynn vs Delirous - Solid match, nothing too special. You notice the audio is a little different than a regular ROH dvd, with the crowd not as loud.

Kenny King vs Sami Callahan - Kenny King looked like a STAR. Need i star more.

Brent Albright vs. Rhett Titus - I thought both these guys were showcased pretty well.

Tyler Black vs Jimmie Jacobs. Good match, i still think they should have featured Danielson or Nigel in the first main event.

Not a bad product by any means. ROH now has to work with the network, so things like the new announcers/ camera angles we are going to have to get used to. But overall, no major complaints.

It wasn't as good as a ROH PPV, but it was still very good. I just watched it for the second time. The main event was one of the best TV matches that I have seen in a long time. It was an all around good show, hopefully the quality keeps up.

What it lacked was really that there wasn't really anything too special on it IMO. like there was nothing i thought that would make a first time viewer say "this is really good and different" or nothing to make them really want to tune in the next week.

and it sucks to hear that they tape 6 shows in 2 days because the crowed pretty much sucked and im guessing this will mean the crowed will suck for the next 6 shows.

^ Well I am yet to see the show (my download cut out and I only just finished getting it back) but I think the crowd will improve as the shows go on. Once the crowd see the likes of Danielson or Nigel I think they will really cheer/boo, I could be wrong but the bigger stars on the show will get the bigger reactions and thid first show was mostly made up of the younger stars which could be why they weren't to into it.

I think its just the production now. All the shows are being taped in the same building with the same crowd, so don't expect any major changes, until they adjust the audio.

To be fair, it was HDNet's first time filming a wrestling show, so some audio problems could be expected. Also, I've read some reports that the crowd didn't start going nuts until Danielson's first match.. Unfortunately, that match isn't scheduled to air until the third week.

So I finally finished watching the whole show, and I was very impressed. It's already better than Impact tbh, simply for the fact it offers something different to both WWE/TNA. The matches were all solid and the ME was fantastic.

I dug all those little mini-promos pre-match, perfect for new viewers like myself. Only real problem I had was some of the guys seemed to be all the same, and sometimes I couldn't really tell who was meant to be the face/heel until the match started. Jacobs was the only one I knew right away was a heel, and he cut a very good promo.

I already have someone to hate though. Sami Callahan. He was the only guy I really thought shouldn't have been there. I was kind of confused when Nigel wasn't on the show, they could've at least had a promo video or something, he is the champion after all.

Overall, a great first show. Can anybody post for me the next shows card (without who's winning of course)?

This show doesn't look too bad on paper, the fact they're having 4 matches in an hour and the Main Event involves the ROH Champ :)() vs. Jay Briscoe scares me a little.

HEY! Gotta question why "Sugarfoot" is on. He might end up like Sami did in the first show and just not be ready for TV.

Daizee vs. Del Ray for all intents and purposes should be pretty damn awesome if enough time is given.

Steen vs. Edwards? Only 1 question comes to my mind when thinking of this match...will Generico and Sweeney be at ringside?? >_>

+ A minor note, hopefully not everyone comes out to the same sounding metal songs as well. No wonder the crowd didn't pop, nobody knew who the heck was coming out with the same music on the first show besides King.
