Super Bowl IV was in unfavorable territory, Super Bowl VIII was against Don Shula's Dolphins, who was undefeated the year before, IX was against the Steelers, and Tarkenton shat the bed that game, and XII was against fucking John Madden's Raiders. If the Vikings had made Super Bowl X, they could have won that year, but instead the Cowboys won via the Hail Mary that should have been offensive pass interference.

Put any of those Super Bowls in like Lambeau Field or a cold environment and it's a whole different ballgame.

But I do agree that if they're put in a cold environment, they would feel more comfortable.

Bud Grant's Vikings whole deal was the cold weather mystique, take away the cold weather and they're just not built for hot weather, straight up.

It's partially the reason why so many Vikings fans yearn for an outdoor stadium despite the fact that the weather nowadays is more vitriolic, dangerous, and violent than it was even 50 years ago (thanks to climate change).
