I was gonna say what the hell took so long but then I remembered he retired like 2 weeks ago I think.

Still a shame the Jagr record ended a couple years ago. Every year from like 1980-2020 someone in the cup final was a teammate of (or was) Jaromir Jagr.

I like paying tribute to a former team once in a while, but they have done it so much it loses luster. Not to mention they keep changing their home uniform every other season and their uniforms (while individually nice) don't look connected at all.

Other issue with the Whalers/Hurricanes stuff:

They unretired the Whalers Retired numbers. If they really cared about the history they'd have honored the Whalers Retired Numbers. They didn't. It's nothing but a money play and a spit in the face to the people who were devastated by the Whalers moving.

I for one don't give a shit about the Hartford Whalers being used by the Carolina Hurricanes. It'd be like the Minnesota Twins using the Washington Senators as throwbacks. They're the same franchise, so there's no immorality or unethicality to it. Just cuz it annoys some people doesn't mean these franchises can't use them.
