Yeah, the team needed to move 10 years ago but Gary Bettman continued to try and force a desert hockey team on us all, and now he is paying dearly for it.

Kansas City, Quebec (doubtful), and Houston seem to be the three big front runners at this point.

Either that or it's entirely possible that the Arizona Coyotes becomes the first major professional sports franchise to shut down since the Cleveland Barons in 1978.

It's a shame because the team never should have been in Arizona in the first place. It was a terrible idea in 1996, and it was still a terrible idea in 2013. The fact they stuck out another 10 years and this is the result, the league has nothing but themselves to blame.

I can't blame them for trying in Arizona. But they should have been moved long ago.

But I also can't blame the voters. Do they want to spend $2B to keep a (shitty) hockey team?

I do not at all expect them to shut down the team. There's enough cities that want a pro sports franchise they can move.
