It absolutely sucks that Rodgers' season is officially done. Yes it was very unfortunate that happened to him, which comes a great concern for the Jets moving forward without him.

I know you asked Trooper but I'll give my 2 cents. Kaepernick relied on his scrambling ability and athleticism and now he's 35 years old and hasn't played in 7 years. He is absolutely not an NFL QB anymore.

My take on this.

1. Kaepernick most definitely did get blackballed by the NFL. That's pretty much a known fact at this point (I think they settled the lawsuit or he won can't recall).
2. If he really wanted to keep playing he would have eventually signed with the CFL/AAF/XFL2.0/USFL2.0/XFL3.0. All of those leagues (maybe not XFL2.0 McMahon was iffy on it) would have taken him in a heartbeat for the publicity alone. The fact that he didn't even attempt to (if I recall he asked for $20 Million from the AAF which was proof positive he didn't want to) is proof he really didn't want to keep playing.
