The Nuzlocke Challenge

Okay. I don't know if there are any Pokemon games fans over here on WS, but I know that I myself am a huge mark for Pokemon games. And I have decided to try the Nuzlocke challenge on my Pokemon Sapphire (I'm using an emulator).

The challenge rules:

1. You can catch only the first Pokemon you encounter in each zone (Route, Cave etc.). The optional rule is that you can have a second chance if the first Pokemon you encounter in the zone is a duplicate. Then you must catch the first Pokemon you don't have.

2. If a Pokemon faints, it dies = that means you must release it when it dies.

3. You must give your Pokemon nicknames, to strengthen the bond between the two of you.

I like the original Red, Blue and Yellow. I didn't mind Gold and Silver but that is as far as I have gone with Pokemon. I still like to play the originals every like 2 years because I still get tons of enjoyment out of them before I just start losing battles and lose interest. Then I'd go to play Gold or Silver and get lost. That seems to be my current cycle. I don't think I could get into the future ones since I don't understand the emergence of most of the new Pokemon. Hell, I don't even know most of them in Gold or Silver.

This Nuzlocke Challenge sounds interesting. I may try it when I play through the one of the original games again. Never heard of it before this.

I'm kinda a Pokemaniac you know. So I know all of them until Sinnoh (4th gen - Diamond, Pearl, Platinum). My interest in Pokemon games stops after the 3rd gen games. I'm a Hoenn league fan (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald), so I like to play those. I'm playing the Nuzlocke Sapphire atm and a normal Gold run, since I've never tried any of the Johto games.
