Sure people can say Miz has good mic skills, but it's pretty hard to judge when all he does is make fun of John Cena. It's not hard to crack jokes about the guy. Looking past his promos on Cena, you can't really say Miz has great mic skills at all. Sure on the Dirt Sheet he might seem like something, not like I watch it, but that's not LIVE like it is on Raw. If Miz can hold his own while dropping this whole "Anti-Cena" gimmick, I would give him credit. Oh, besides getting all up on Cena's junk, all he says is that he is awesome. Didn't Edge and Christian ride that line back in 2000 and 2001? That's real original.
Miz is a decent wrestler at best. The only real moves he has is the Reality Check and that stupid little running clothesline to the corner where he goes through the ropes landing on the apron. Beyond that, I really can't say he brings anything good to the ring. He is being booked with some of the best in the business, Cena and Big Show, but the guy just can't break out and have a good match. The Miz cannot successfully become a big time player by only making fun of John Cena and having decent wrestling skills.
Not to mention the guy's appearance is totally annoying. His ring gear is ugly, doesn't make any sense at all, what does "BE MIZ" mean anyway on his shorts? His hats are the worst thing I have ever seen in my life. If he only wore the bandana, I wouldn't say anything because you can't make a bandana look bad. He has one bad haircut and he isn't ripped at all. He is just a big stocky dude. I look at Miz as a less funny, WWE marketed version of George Costanza from Seinfeld. I am not saying the Miz is fat, but he just reminds me of the WWE version George. I tolerated the man because he was with Morrison and they weren't that bad together.
John Morrison is by far the better of the two. He was an established singles star for quite sometime as both John Morrison and Johnny Nitro. The guy has racked up several singles belts to back up his reputation. John Morrison has had much experience in big matches. He has been in ECW title matches as well as Money in the Bank Ladder matches. He had many great matches, for instance at Vengeance of 2006 I believe it was Carlito vs. Shelton vs. Nitro, that match was awesome, and that was before he got repackaged. The guy has better athleticism than more than half the roster right now. He has many signature moves. The Starship Pain I think was a great addition to his Finishers. He used that in previous matches without it being a finisher and I was always impressed.
Morrison's appearance is by far one of the coolest things WWE has. He just screams superstar. You can tell that alot of time got put into Morrison's look. From the 45 lb coat to the hair blowing in the wind. I must admit that the bedazzled abs were a bit much, but you can tell by him not having them that they didn't go over too well.
Some people argue about his mic skills. He held his own against Edge last Friday night, right before their incredible match. Now, if you can hold your own against one of the top 3 guys on the mic, I think that's saying something. He is supposed to be a little weird. He isn't supposed to make sense with all of his comments, he has a Jim Morrison/The Doors-esque persona around him. If you look at the lyrics to those songs, you will understand that some of his lines are a little out there, previous promos more so than last Friday Night's.
John Morrison Positives:
-Singles Star Experience
-Standout Appearance
-Incredible Athleticism
The Miz Positives:
-...he can make fun of John Cena well?
WINNER: John Morrison.
