I was going to repond with quotes to a few of these posts but everyone has some great input here.

WCW did great business with the original US title. There were established main eventers going after it with mid-carders. In fact, on Eddie's new dvd there a US title match with him versus Ric Flair and it's a good match. There no reason why HBK couldn't feud with Punk over that belt right now.
