HULK HOGAN JOINS TNA WRESTLING
October 27, 2009
Legendary Wrestler and Pop Culture Icon Returns To The Ring With Fast-Rising Wrestling Organization

“Hulkamania” is back! The biggest name in professional wrestling history, Hulk Hogan, is joining Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling (TNA), the fastest rising wrestling organization in the world and home to one of cable television’s highest rated shows for young men, TNA iMPACT! The announcement was made by TNA Wrestling in conjunction with Spike TV at a press conference held in New York City.

“Hulk Hogan is one of the world’s top pop culture icons and the biggest superstar in the history of professional wrestling. We are truly excited to welcome him into the TNA family,” said Dixie Carter, President of TNA Wrestling. “Our goal is to become the world’s biggest professional wrestling company. Hulk defines professional wrestling and we look forward to partnering with him in a variety of ways as we continue to grow TNA globally.”

“I’m thrilled to be jumping back into the world of professional wrestling,” said Hogan. “My fans have been asking me to return to the business for many years on a full time basis, but the timing or the opportunity has never been right until now. TNA Wrestling is a great company with an already excellent fan base, business and broadcast partner. I firmly believe now is the time for some change at TNA as they are positioned to jump to the next level in their development and I’m here to work with Dixie to help make that a reality.”

Through Hogan’s partnership with Bischoff Hervey Entertainment Television, the deal with TNA was negotiated by longtime Hogan colleague Eric Bischoff. Additionally, BHE TV has inked a first-look deal with TNA and will be working with the organization to develop new programming extensions of the TNA brand.

“Hulk Hogan adds yet another level of star power that positions TNA iMPACT as Spike TV’s version of ‘Must-See TV’ on Thursday nights,” said Kevin Kay, president of Spike.

Well, here it is. This is the first of…3(?) teasers that I’ll post leading up to my first show that will go up Saturday, though I may get impatient and just do the other teasers all at once. Those who know me know this is one of 2 threads that I’ve always wanted to do. Recently got switched back to night shift at work and now, have time to write and BTB while the wife sleeps lol. Looking at the graphics I have made for this and a few were made in 2020, so this has been a long time coming.

This was posted on my phone so hopefully the spacing and shit isn’t too off, I’ll fix it when I get to my computer if necessary.

The roster at this time in TNA was completely stacked so here’s hoping that you bring in The Nasty Boys and Ed Leslie to be the real stars brother.

Good luck I look forward to reading.

November 5, 2009

This past Monday the wrestling world was rocked by the announcement that WWE’s relaunched version of ECW will be ending with the December 8th edition of the program this December. As announced on RAW by ECW General Manager Tiffany, for the weeks leading up to the TLC pay per view, a round robin tournament will be held featuring former ECW champions with the winner going on to TLC where they will face ECW Champion Christian in the final ECW match ever with the winner having the distinction of being the final ECW Champion.

For the remaining three Tuesdays of the year, WWE will air a three two hour ECW specials. On Tuesday December 15th a “edited” version of the 2005 edition of ECW One Night Stand will air, then the following week, December 22, a “edited” version of ECW One Night Stand 2006 willl air. Ending off the year, on Tuesday December 29, a two hour “best of ECW” will air featuring matches from the WWE era of ECW and interviews with the superstars that made it the spectacle that it was.

With every door that closes, another opens, and with the ending of ECW, WWE will be launching NXT. Starting the first Tuesday of the new year, January 5, the hour long program will be presented as a hybrid between WWE's scripted live event shows and reality television, in which talent from WWE's developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) will participate in a competition to become WWE's next "breakout star", with each of the hopefuls being paired with a mentors from WWE's Raw or SmackDown brands.

With WWE’s third brand ECW ending, the roster will seemingly be split between the two remaining shows. Add to that the “rookies” that will be joining the ranks on NXT, the roster begins to swell.

Early this morning, WWE put out a press release stating that it was parting ways with several superstars and personnel from the company. WWE wished every one of the following the best of luck in their future endeavours in that press release:

Caylen Croft
Charlie Haas
Chris Masters
Dolph Ziggler
Eric Escobar
Jillian Hall
Katie Lea Burchill
Kung Fu Naki
Maria
Paul Burchill
Scott Armstrong
Slam Master J
Trent Barreta
Tyler Reks
Vance Archer
Yoshi Tatsu
Zack Ryder

Thank you everyone for the responses to the first post, which really wasn’t anything other than saying I was back. First show is still set to be released Saturday, and then I’ll be dropping some reviews and getting back into the swing of things. Reviews may come before the show, who knows, see how much tweaking on my first show my OCD makes me do lol.

This post, should be the only time WWE is mentioned in the thread (outside of, the next post or you know, maybe hogan throwing some shots at WWE and saying TNA is the destination BROTHER) and moved up the end of ECW, and some releases, by a month…for reasons….threw in some of the people actually released, along with some curve balls, just to throw off the scent of who may or may not be making appearances later in the thread…no not EVERYONE is coming to TNA, because then how would I bring in The Nasty Boys and Bubba The Love Sponge?

HULKAMANIA IS COMING BACK TO MONDAY NIGHT ON “TNA iMPACT!” LIVE JANUARY 4 ON SPIKE TV
December 6, 2009
Hulk Hogan’s First Live Appearance On Spike TV’s “TNA iMPACT” Will Be In A Special 3-Hour Live Episode Monday, January 4 At 8:00 PM ET/PT

The biggest name in professional wrestling history, Hulk Hogan, will make his first live appearance on Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling’s “TNA iMPACT!” in a live 3-hour special on Spike TV Monday, January 4, 2010 at 8:00PM ET/PT. Hogan and TNA President Dixie Carter attended “The Ultimate Fighter Heavyweights” Finale in Las Vegas where Hogan made the announcement in an interview with Joe Rogan.

“TNA iMPACT!” will be going against “WWE Monday Raw” on USA Network, the first time two wrestling companies have broadcast live head-to-head since the “Monday Night Wars” in the late 1990’s between WWE and WCW. This “iMPACT!” special will broadcast live from the TNA iMPACT! Zone at Universal Studios in Orlando, Fl.

Hogan’s first appearance inside the six-sided ring of TNA Wrestling will follow weeks of speculation after Hogan and Carter announced their partnership on October 27 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Hogan has hinted in various media interviews that he’ll have multiple surprises in store for TNA Wrestling fans.

“I knew when I signed with TNA, that it would be important to make a statement with the first episode. Going head-to-head on January 4th, makes the statement loud and clear: Game on!” Hogan said.

“TNA is kicking off 2010 in the biggest way possible with the biggest name in the history of our sport. Hulk Hogan is a pop culture icon, and his arrival will change not only TNA, but the entire professional wrestling landscape. We’re firing that first shot,” Carter said.

Joining Hogan for the three-hour live “iMPACT!” will be TNA World Heavyweight Champion “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles, Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle, Mick Foley, Kevin Nash, “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe, “The Boss” Bobby Lashley and “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan.

“TNA iMPACT!” will resume its normal timeslot on Thursday, January 7th at 9:00 PM ET/PT with an encore viewing of the live “iMPACT!” special.

Starting roster for anyone interested, there will probably be a day delay on the first show, nothing serious, just found myself out of town for the weekend with family after my younger cousin decided to get a pretty serious injury playing flag football(yes, that’s the “safe” version of football lol. So figured I’d post this to at least get something up today when the show was supposed to go up. Hope everyone’s doing good, I’m pumped to get rolling with this!

The story of Hulk Hogan joining TNA Wrestling has often been tried and experimented with. I'm very intrigued on the prospects from the offset, and am hoping we are able to stick with an environment more closely resembling of TNA than what Hogan and Eric Bischoff did to it, removing all of the unique facets it had going for it in the months building to January 2010.

I don't know about ECW ending early, but as I recall at the time it was a very sudden change to NXT as well. It must suck to be released from WWE weeks before Christmas, and I don't necessarily agree with a lot of the names they let go. But, I could easily see the likes of Chris Masters, Dolph Ziggler, Trent Barreta and Yoshi Tatsu making strong additions to a hypothetical Hogan-TNA roster.

I also believe that allowing TNA iMPACT! to move to Monday nights is a death sentence, one that probably shouldn't have ever happened. But with what we know with your approach, perhaps things will turn out differently. Maybe they won't be eaten alive by figures of yesteryear, WWE-primed talents and backstage politics.

TNA had an absurdly solid base prior to Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff's winter influx. The television was the best it had been in years and the storylines were very well executed.

With this all said, I'll wait until January 4, 2010. It's a day I saw the new TNA come out, and my future interest in TNA die in one night.

Let's see what we've got.

Well, can't believe this is finally seeing the light of day. Wrote this a few years ago for WC then...just never posted it. Like a lot of my content I wound up deciding that I didn't feel it was "good enough". This thread is one of the original things I wanted to book when I first joined WC in 2017, s it's a long time coming. I rewrote a few segments this past week while, content didn't change, just the style. Graphics are dated 2021 on my computer...so it's been awhile that I've wanted to do this.

Big thanks to my brother Stojy for bringing me back to BTB with a joke about doing a 2004 thread together.

Thanks to Battletank for the line breaks.

Thanks to anyone who reads this.

LIVE from the Impact Zone in Orlando, Florida

Show opens with a long, long promo showcasing the history of TNA. From the first show to Hulk Hogan being signed. Historic championship changes. Legends of the industry arriving in TNA (Kurt Angle, Christian, Sting, now Hogan).

Opening video.
{Complete with the NEW theme song of IMPACT! “Tonight” by TobyMac}

Pyro(ish) flashes on the stage, and from the ceiling around the arena, as the "standing room only" crowd in attendance roars.

Mike Tenay : Tonight, live from Orlando Florida, Hulk Hogan makes his historic Impact debut!

Taz : Whatchu gonna do when TNA and Hulkamania run wild on you brotha? Hahah

The camera pans around the crowd one more time before settling on the commentary table to the side of the entrance way, we see the team, Mike Tenay and Taz.

Mike Tenay : Tonight, we celebrate quite simply the biggest night in TNA history! Hulk Hogan is live, right here on Impact later tonight. It's Mike Tenay, alongside as always my broadcast partner Taz.

Taz : Haha Mike, I think we got one more introduction to do right here.

Mike Tenay : Right you are Taz, and it's one I'm very excited for. It is my pleasure, to welcome back to professional wrestling, my former broadcast partner...

The camera zooms out, revealing TONY SCHIAVONE!?

Mike Tenay : ....Tony Schiavone! We are sure glad you're here!

Tony Schiavone : Thank you Mike Tenay, thank you Taz, and thank you TNA! What a historic night this is shaping up to be, and I wasn't going to miss it for anything!

Mike Tenay : You're not wrong Tony, tonight's three hour special edition of Impact is shaping up to be our biggest night ever! Yes, we already know that Hulk Hogan will be making his Impact Wrestling debut, but we have also received word of several matches signed for tonight's broadcast!

Tony Schiavone : From what I understand Mike, TNA President Dixie Carter gave Hulk Hogan complete control of match making here tonight and moving forward, am I correct on that?

Mike Tenay : Yes you are Tony!

Taz : Holy smokes! You can feel it in the air boys, something's changing! I have a feeling that the TNA we know will never, ever be the same after tonight!

Mike Tenay : That could very well be the case Taz. Let's take a look at tonight's card run down, presented by 5 Hour Energy.

Taz : I love that stuff Mike, hours of energy now, absolutely no crash later!

A graphic appears on the screen, showing four of the teams in TNA's stacked tag team division. Beer Money Inc, Lethal Consequences, Matt Morgan and Hernandez, and relative newcomers The Bucks.

Mike Tenay : We have been told that every Championship will be on the line at our Genesis Pay Per View, and that's just two weeks away! With that in mind Hulk Hogan has put an eye to the future and set up a massive four team elimination match with the winners, going onto challenge the champions Doug Williams and Brutus Magnus at Genesis.

Taz : Man! What a match, you got Beer Money in there, Lethal Consequences, those new kids The Bucks, and my personal pick, just based on their size, Hernandez and big Matt Morgan.

The graphic then changes, now showing a match between ODB and Awesome Kong.

Tony Schiavone : Oh boy! Two highly combustible elements collide later tonight! I saw their match last week on Impact and it was intense!

Taz : Intense ain't the word Tony, ODB cheated to defeat Kong and move on in the tournament to crown a number one contender for Knockouts Champion.

Mike Tenay : At Genesis ODB goes one on one with the Knockouts Champion Tara, but tonight she goes head to head with Awesome Kong!

The graphic changes again, this time showing Rhino and Suicide! Oh what a match.

Mike Tenay : At Final Resolution, Rhino's team came up short in a grueling eight man tag team match. Tonight, he looks for revenge against the masked man, Suicide!

The graphic changes once more, this time revealing the TNA World Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles and Kurt Angle!

Taz : Oh boy, I can't wait for this.

Mike Tenay : Me either Taz, Kurt Angle has been owed this rematch opportunity for months and tonight? He goes one on one with Styles for the biggest prize in our business!

Tony Schiavone : All of this AND Hulk Hogan arrives?! Tonight is going to be one hell of a ride boys.

Mike Tenay : The atmosphere here in the impact zone feels like anything can happen and we still don’t know what Hulk Hogan will have on his mind when he comes out here later!

Good god, that's enough commentary for me. Before the rest of the team can weigh in on Hogan's arrival, the entrance music of The Motor City Machine Guns hits and out come Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin! Mike Tenay tells us all about this upcoming match as the rest of the participants make their way out. Six men. One fall to the finish. Whoever wins the match gets a shot at Amazing Red's X Division Championship at Genesis. Taz pipes up that there's no better way to start a show, which of course prompts Tenay to brag about the X Division. The spiritual successor to the Cruiserweight Division. It's not about weight limits, it's about No Limits. Joining Sabin and Shelley in the match is Homicide, Jesse Neal, and Kazarian. The match….hang on. That’s only five.

*MODEST*
Ugh, why does everyone’s themes have terrible names?

The crowd comes unglued as JEFF HARDY makes his TNA return! For the first time in just over four years, Hardy had returned! Hardy takes his time, soaking up the reaction from the crowd before getting into the ring.

- Match One -
6 Man Number One Contenders Match
Winner Challenges For The X Division Championship At Genesis

Jeff Hardy versus Alex Shelley versus Jesse Neal versus Homicide versus Chris Sabin versus Kazarian

After the “Hardy” chants die down, the action takes off. The five others begin glare at Hardy, wanting to make an example out of the returning star….but Hardy isn’t waiting to be made an example of, he flies right at the biggest man in the match, leaping at Jesse Neal and throwing rights and lefts at the big man. With Hardy making the first move, the Motor City Machine Guns split and go after Kazarian and Homicide! Neal has had enough of Hardy’s fists and decides to roll out of the ring to regroup but at that same moment Homicide has the same idea! Neal gets in Homicide’s face and the two start brawling. Shelley and Sabin take down Kazarian, and look towards Hardy, but then they smirk at each other, shrug, and fly through the ropes and take out both Homicide and Neal!

Shelley and Sabin soak up the cheers from the crowd who are chanting “TNA”. They enjoy it a bit too long though, and as the look back towards the ring, Hardy comes flying off the top rope with a crossbody taking both of them down!

Hardy throws up his trademark…Hardy sign? Is there a name for that shit? In the ring Kazarian starts to get up.

1728919888066-png.86508

Back from the break, the action is fast and furious. All six men giving it their all, not wanting to miss out on a shot at the gold in two weeks at Genesis. Even Sabin and Shelley put their friendship aside and try to take each other out of the equation. Giving the crowd, and everyone watching at home(including, presumably, some new viewers) a chance to see a fuck ton of high spots and show off the “world famous X - division”.

As the match comes to an end, Shelley goes for a superplex on his partner Sabin, only for Neal to grab him for a powerbomb off the top, taking out both of The Motor City Machine Guns in the process. Before Neal can go for the pin, Kazarian flies at him from the top rope, going for a diving crossbody, but Neal catches him and drills him with a fallaway slam. Neal is tired, and as he slowly gets back to his feet, Hardy grabs him and drills him with a twist of fate!!

The crowd is loud as hell as Hardy climbs to the top rope….SWANTON BOMB to Neal!! Hardy is back and is going t- - NO! Homicide grabs Hardy by the feet and pulls him out of the ring and whips him into the ring steps! Homicide quickly rolls into the ring and throws himself on top of Neal for the three count!

Homicide defeated Jesse Neal, Jeff Hardy, Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, and Kazarian (13:22)

Hardy tries to get back in the ring, but he’s seconds too late. Homicide gets to his feet, arrogantly raising his hand it victory. He looks at Hardy and smirks.

Backstage, Christy Hemme stands microphone in hand, ready to interview TNA World Heavyweight Champion
AJ Styles. With a bright smile, she jumps right in, asking for his thoughts on the X Division showcase that just wrapped up, reminding everyone that AJ himself is a former X Division Champion. Styles, with a hint of pride in his eyes, says, “The X Division is something I helped build. I’m so proud of what it was and what it still is today. The matches those guys put on? Incredible.”

Hemme shifts gears, bringing up the masked man who’s been attacking Styles for the past few weeks. But AJ brushes it off with a dismissive wave. “I’m not wasting my time on a coward who hides behind a mask,” he says, clearly uninterested in the topic.

Trying to regain the momentum, Hemme swiftly moves to the heart of the interview, asking about his challenger tonight. Styles, unfazed, cracks a confident smile. “Since I won this championship, it hasn’t been easy. Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, Sting—they’ve all come at me. Kurt Angle is no joke, I’m gonna have to give it my all…But there’s only one champion here, and he’s simply phenomenal.”

1728919888066-png.86508

Back from the break, A video package plays showcasing the career of one of TNA’s best, Samoa Joe. The video shows highlights spanning his entire career so far, all the way from debuting at Slammiversary in 2005 against Sonjay Dutt, his undefeated streak, his feuds with AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Kurt Angle, winning the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at Lockdown in 2008, and just his overall destruction of opponents. The video ends with the words SAMOA JOE. TONIGHT.

______________

As Mike Tenay, Taz, and Tony Schiavone hype up Samoa Joe on commentary, the camera cuts backstage to show footage from EARLIER TODAY. The footage shows Hulk Hogan walking through the back and shaking hands with many of the wrestlers. Tenay says that Hogan has been at the arena all day, and he has been having meetings with several members of the TNA roster.
_______________

The camera suddenly cuts to the ring, and standing there, are the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions,
Taylor Wilde and Sarita, alongside Mike Tenay, who has left the commentary table. Tenay holds a microphone and turns to the champions with a smile.

Taylor, Sarita,” he begins, “how has it been being the first-ever Knockouts Tag Team Champions?”

Taylor Wilde, with a confident grin, raises her mic. “It’s been incredible,” she says. “I love having the opportunity to showcase another side of the Knockouts Division, a division that, outside of a few bad apples, I’m really proud to be part of.” Sarita nods, about to speak, when…

*ANGEL ON MY SHOULDER*

The camera shifts toward the ramp as The Beautiful People, Lacey Von Erich, Madison Rayne, and Velvet Sky, make their way out. Taz explodes with excitement on commentary, hyping up their arrival. Lacey holds a mic, smirking as the trio struts toward the ring.

Lacey speaks as they approach, her voice dripping with arrogance. “I know you weren’t talking about us when you mentioned ‘bad apples,’ Taylor” she says, eyeing Taylor. “Because you know better than to talk about The Beautiful People like that.” The three women climb into the ring, and Mike Tenay quickly exits.

Lacey continues, circling the champions. “We’ve waited long enough to take those titles from you two. And guess what? We just had a little meeting with Hulk Hogan, and he agrees with us. At Genesis, the best match for the Knockouts Tag Team Championships is going to be Sarita and Wilde defending against The Beautiful People.”

As Lacey starts to brag about how they’re going to win, Sarita leans in and whispers something into Wilde’s ear. The two champions share a burst of laughter, causing Lacey to stop midsentence, her expression darkening.

Lacey snaps, glaring at them. “What’s so funny?!”

Wilde, still chuckling, looks at Lacey with mock innocence. “I’m just wondering… during this ‘meeting’ where you were gifted a title shot, did all three of you lay on your backs, or was it just Lacey?”

The crowd erupts, and The Beautiful People stand there, stunned. Lacey looks to Velvet and Madison, and they all nod , before all three women lunge at Wilde and Sarita. Taz yells, “CATFIGHT!” as the brawl begins.

The numbers advantage quickly shifts the fight in favor of The Beautiful People, who overwhelm the champions. Punches fly as Wilde and Sarita try to fend off the three-on-two attack. Before the chaos can go too far, security rushes down the ramp, pulling the two teams apart. Lacey, still fuming, shouts over the commotion, “YOU’RE GONNA LAY DOWN FOR ME, BITCH!”

__________________

The camera cuts to the commentary table where the three man team of Mike Tenay, Taz, and Tony Schiavone talk about how heated those two teams are gonna be when they collide at Genesis. Taz criticizes Tenay for leaving the ring when five beautiful women are in there. Tenay tries to get things back on track, hyping up that we now know three of the championship matches that will be taking place at Genesis, one week from Sunday.

Tara defends her Knockouts Championship against the winner of the Knockouts Knockdown Tournament last week, ODB
•Amazing Red defends the X-Division Championship against the winner of the incredible six man match from earlier tonight, Homicide
•Taylor Wilde and Sarita defend the Knockouts Tag Team Championships against The Beautiful People

Schiavone says we know those three matches, but there’s still more to come! Up next, the challengers for British Invasion’s Tag Team Championship will be decided in a four team elimination match! Tenay says that the champions had this to say when they heard about the match….

__________________

Backstage, British Invasion stand facing the camera.
Magnus (that’s right, week 1 and we’re ditching “brutus”) and Doug Williams, the champions, with Rob Terry standing behind. Williams says "I've been all over the world, fought the best of the best. Looking at the four teams that are gunning for a shot, he doesn’t see the best. " Magnus says "We've held the titles since October, and it’s doesn’t matter which team goes up against them at Genesis, that’s not gonna change."

1728919888066-png.86508

Back from the break, a promo plays showcasing one of the most decorated tag teams in professional wrestling, Team 3D. The video shows clips from their TNA career from their debuts to winning the TNA Tag Team Championships twice. The promo ends with the words TEAM 3D RETURNS TWO WEEKS AWAY showing up on the screen.

______________

Taz hypes up that he can’t wait for the return of Team 3D! Mike Tenay says that Team 3D wanted to be here for this historic night but they had prior obligations, heading over to Tokyo Japan to defend their IWGP Tag Team Championships against No Limits and Bad Intentions at Wrestle Kingdom IV.

*BEER MONEY*

Time for some more in ring action! The former Tag Team Champions, Beer Money Inc. (James Storm and Robert Roode) make their way out to the ring. Commentary breaks down the match rules. Only two men in the match at once. You can tag your own partner, or a member of another team. If a member of your team is pinned, your team is eliminated. Last team remaining, goes to Genesis to challenge
British Invasion for the TNA Tag Team Championships!

All three other teams get entrances too. I’m just not writing them. Lethal Consequences (Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed), the rookie team of The Bucks (Nick and Matt Buck), and the massive team of Matt Morgan and Hernandez.

- Match Two -
Four Team Elimination Number One Contenders Match
Winning Team Challenges For The TNA Tag Team Championships At Genesis

Beer Money Inc. versus The Bucks versus Lethal Consequences versus Matt Morgan and Hernandez

Matt Morgan starts it off, and there’s a bit of an argument between James Storm and Jay Lethal about which team is gonna start against Morgan, only for it to be thrown right out the window as Nick Buck runs across the ring, no fear, right at Morgan! Taz mentions on commentary that he’s pretty impressed at the heart of these rookies, going right at…he’s cut off by Morgan taking Nick’s head off with a Clothesline. Morgan picks Nick up and tosses him into one of the six corners of the ring, it just happens to be the corner of Lethal Consequences! As Morgan goes for an elbow to the face of Nick, Creed tags himself in, tagging Morgan out!

Morgan looks pissed, but Lethal shouts for him to get out of the ring as Creed takes Nick to the ground and tries to get the pin. Nick kicks out at 2. Creed and Lethal isolate Nick in their corner, using quick tags to keep him grounded and continuously going for the pin. Creed gets sick of Nick kicking out and pulls him in for the CreedDT, but Nick pushes him away. The beatdown Nick has taken is too much though and he falls backwards toward the corner of Morgan and Hernandez! Creed tries to stop him but Morgan tags himself in! Creed backs away, and tries to get to the corner of Beer Money Inc! Storm and Roode back away and tell Creed to fight his own battles. Creed looks terrified, and turns around right into the Carbon Footprint! Creed goes down! Morgan immediately goes for the pin, eliminating Lethal Consequences! Morgan stands up and waits, as Beer Money finally gets involved in the match, and James Storm gets in the ring!

Lethal Consequences are eliminated.

Back from the break, Beer Money Inc and Morgan / Hernandez battle back and forth. Neither team wanting to miss out on the opportunity at the tag team gold. Hernandez and Morgan try to use their strength and size, but Beer Money use their experience. Roode goes for the Roode Bomb on Hernandez, but he wiggles out of it and tags in Morgan. Morgan and Roode brawl and Morgan throws Roode into the ropes, but as Roode comes back he collides headfirst into Morgan, the two colliding skull to skull. Morgan stumbles back, as does Roode. Matt Buck tags himself in on Roode. Morgan doesn’t see it happen and as Roode heads back to his corner, Morgan charges at him and boots him in the back of the head. Roode falls and Morgan goes for the pin.

The ref tries to tell Morgan that Roode isn’t the legal man. Morgan gets up and yells at him. Morgan doesn’t even see it coming when Storm hits him with a Last Call Superkick! Morgan stumbles back right into Matt Buck who rolls him up!! THREE COUNT! Morgan and Hernandez are gone!

Matt Morgan and Hernandez are eliminated.

Morgan and Hernandez are pissed. Hernandez argues with the ref as Morgan shakes off the superkick. The ref shouts that if they don’t leave they’ll be fined. The match continues as Morgan and Hernandez leave the ring, throwing things around the ringside area as they leave(the stairs, ring bell, timekeepers table).

The Bucks put up a good right but the well oiled machine of Beer Money makes relatively quick work of the rookies. The end comes when Matt jumps from the top rope, but Roode catches him in position for the Roode Bomb! Nick tries to get into the ring to stop it, but Storm cuts him off with the Last Call! Roode drops Matt with the Roode Bomb! Roode and Storm both go for the cover, pinning both Bucks.

Beer Money Inc. defeated The Bucks, Matt Morgan and Hernandez, and Lethal Consequences (14:52)

Beer Money celebrate and motion that the championships are coming back to them. They look back at The Bucks, and help the newcomers to their feet. Roode and Storm both extend a hand, shaking the hands of Nick and Matt. All four men raise their hands.

Back from the break, Ric Flair Is walking confidently through the backstage area. He spots Beer Money Inc, James Storm and Robert Roode, celebrating their recent victory with wide grins and raised arms. Beers flowing. As Flair approaches, their expressions shift from joy to shock, eyes wide at the sight of the legendary “Nature Boy” himself.

Roode is the first to speak, introducing himself and Storm to Flair. “We’re Beer Money Inc.,” Roode says, and Storm nods along. Flair smirks, shaking his head slightly.

I know all about Beer Money,” Flair says with a laugh. “My son Reid, he’s a big fan. Been talking about you two for a while now, so I had to come see you work.” He glances around the room with a slight frown. “Sorry I missed your match, but it looks like you boys won!”

Storms laughs. “We did, and at Genesis, we’re getting those tag team championships back!”

Flair nods approvingly. “I’ll definitely be there to see that.

Storm grins and raises a beer bottle. “What do you say, Ric? Want a beer?”

*OUR HOUSE (TNA REMIX)*
…..I guess I could have just wrote NWO theme?

HULK HOGAN
MAKES HIS WAY OUT OF THE BACK! HULK HOGAN IS HERE!

Hogan nods at the commentary table then slowly walks towards the ring. Soaking in the cheers. He stops to pose a few times, then walks around the ring and hugs his daughter Brooke Hogan who is shown in the front row next to, Mike Tenay points out, TNA President Dixie Carter! Hogan finally gets into the ring and poses some more.

Hulk Hogan stands in the center of the ring, soaking in the energy from the TNA crowd. He raises the microphone and the buzz in the arena grows louder. “Well let me tell you something, brothers!” Hogan begins. “We are kicking off a brand-new era in professional wrestling! A new era right here in TNA!”

The crowd erupts into cheers, chanting “TNA! TNA!” as Hogan grins and nods. “Now, I’ve been in every company there is, brother, and I can tell you…nobody has fans like TNA! Nobody has the talent in the locker room like TNA! So when you ask, why would Hulk Hogan come to TNA, brother? Look no further than that locker room!”

Hogan points toward the back. “I came here to put eyes on this company, to make sure the men and women in TNA get the spotlight they deserve. And let me tell you something…TNA will be the number one wrestling company in the world, with my help, brother. Talent from all over the world is gonna want to come work here!

The crowd cheers again as Hogan continues, “Speaking of, I’ve been in the back all day, meeting with the talent, hearing their ideas, but tonight, I’m out here on a special mission!” Hogan pauses for effect.

Tonight, we’ve got a massive TNA World Championship match!” Hogan says. “AJ Styles, the champ, defends against Kurt Angle! I’ve seen all of AJ’s stuff, and let me tell you, the kid is a hell of a talent. But I know Kurt Angle well, brother, and AJ has got a fight on his hands tonight!”

Hogan’s expression turns serious as he continues, “But that’s tonight. Right now, I’m here to announce who the winner of that match will defend the TNA World Heavyweight Championship against, one week from Sunday at Genesis!

The crowd cheers, they want to know. “When I signed with TNA, almost everyone in the wrestling world reached out, wanting to be part of this new TNA. But I was careful, brother. I made sure to select the best of the best. And AJ’s opponent at Genesis… is exactly that.”

Hogan smirks. “This new signee is one of the biggest impact players in professional wrestling! He can change the game in a heartbeat, brother! He can take the championship, in a heartbeat if he wants—

*GET READY TO FLY*

Suddenly, Hogan is cut off as
AJ Styles’ music hits. The crowd explodes as the TNA World Champion marches down to the ring, his title over his shoulder. Hogan looks a little annoyed but extends his hand as Styles steps into the ring. Styles hesitates, then shakes it before grabbing a mic.

I was gonna bring you out in a minute, AJ,” Hogan starts, but Styles cuts him off.

I was hesitant when they said Hogan was coming,” Styles begins, his voice calm but serious. “But I love that it’s gonna bring more talent, more eyes on what we’ve been doing here in TNA.”

Hogan goes to speak, but Styles raises a hand. “I’m not finished.” Hogan looks surprised as Styles continues. “I love that you’re bringing attention to this company, but what I don’t love is you skipping over everyone in that locker room who’s been busting their asses for years just to hand someone new a title shot right off the bat.”

Hogan starts to speak again, but Styles doesn’t give him the chance. “You just said something, Hogan. You said this new guy can take the gold in a heartbeat?” Styles smirks. “Well, not if I’m still the champ.”

Hogan, trying to remain calm, says, “It’s just a figure of speech, brother.”

Styles steps closer, his voice steady. “Figure of speech or not, I’m not letting anyone just walk in here and take what I’ve fought for. So tell me, Hogan, who’s the opponent?” Hogan tries to calm Styles down, but before he can respond…

*MISTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH*

The lights go out and the camera zooms in on the entrance way. The spotlight comes on and there he stands! The crowd is going wild. Jeans and a leather jacket. Blonde hair and a smile. He reaches towards the sky and his trademark microphone drops down to him.

??? (But we all know…right?) : Well, well. Looks like I done crossed the line!

The crowd cheers. Styles and Hogan look on from the ring.

??? : You know folks…hang on. Hogan. AJ. I’ll get to you in a minute. This, this is for them!

??? points out to the crowd.

??? : You know folks, I read your twitters, your emails, your letters, your sms messages, I’ve seen it all. You missed me. You know what? I missed me too! We can talk later, I got business to tend to…but one more thing..just in case you’ve been living under a rock, maybe you haven’t been in the loop for awhile..whatever.

??? clears his throat.

??? : WEIGHING IN TONIGHT, AT AN ABSOLUTELY FREAKING ASTONISHING TWO HUNDRED THIRTY FIVE AND ONE QUARTER POUNDS….HE HAILS…FROM GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN…..MISTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH….ANDERSON!!!

He chews him gum with a big smile on his face.

Mr. Anderson : ANDERSON!!!

Mr. Anderson tosses the microphone behind him before strutting down to the ring.

Someone at ringside tosses Anderson another mic as he gets into the ring. Anderson and Styles go face to face. Styles looks at him, annoyed. “Feel good now? Got that off your chest?” Styles asks. Anderson smirks.

Relax, AJ,” Anderson replies. “No need to get all worked up. Everyone’s gonna get paid for their match at Genesis, I made sure of that. It’s a big money match.”

Styles glares at him. “This business isn’t about money to me, it’s about—

Anderson cuts him off with a laugh. “Money? Oh, it’s about money to me, pal. When I reached out to TNA, I asked what you were making, then I asked for triple it, and I got it. I demanded a World Title match, and I got it. Management knows who the real star is around here, and it sure ain’t you, champ.

Hogan takes off his sunglasses, looking directly at Anderson. “You need to shut your mouth right now, brother,” Hogan says, his tone suddenly serious. “I brought you here because I thought you were a star, but you need to—

That’s my bad, Hulk,” Anderson interrupts, chewing his gum with a smirk. “Didn’t mean to bring up contract talk. I just thought Styles should know who’s taking his championship at Genesis.”

Anderson grins, but before he can say another word, Styles slaps him across the face! The crowd gasps as Anderson stumbles back, holding his face, his expression turning from shock to rage. He lunges at Styles, but Hogan steps in between them, keeping them apart.

Styles, fired up, shouts, “Why wait until Genesis?! Hogan, you think this guy can take the title? Anderson, you think you’re hot shit? Why wait? Let’s do this tonight!”

The crowd roars in approval as Hogan looks taken aback, glancing between Styles, Anderson, and the cheering fans.

Hulk Hogan : Everyone needs to calm down! AJ you already have a match, the winner will face Anderson at Genesis, everyone needs to just- -

Hogan is cut off by Anderson spitting his gum at Styles. Styles tries to lunge at him, but Anderson leaps out of the ring. Hogan holds Styles back and Anderson laughs and mockingly shouts “Good luck tonight AJ!”

A promo showcasing “The Icon” Sting plays. The video shows him making his return to pro wrestling after a few years away to debut in TNA. Shows highlights of matches against Kurt Angle, Christian, AJ Styles, and Jeff Jarrett. The video ends with a shot of Sting holding up the TNA World Championship before the words “STING. GENESIS.” appear on screen.

Tony Schiavone quickly touches on the fact that Sting returns to TNA one week from Sunday at Genesis, but that’s not the story tonight! A replay is shown of what just transpired on the show between Styles, Anderson, and Hogan, as commentary breaks it down. Mike Tenay can’t believe what happened! They were supposed to find out who the winner of tonight’s AJ Styles versus Kurt Angle match was facing at Genesis, only for it to be revealed to be Mr. Anderson! Taz is pumped, he shouts that it’s gonna be a rocketbustaaah! Schiavone says that he definitely picked a good night to come to TNA, everything that’s happened tonight, all the surprises?!

AJ Styles storms through the backstage area. His TNA World Championship belt on his shoulder as crew members quickly move out of his way. He mutters under his breath, fists clenched, when suddenly, Kurt Angle blocks his path.

AJ!” Angle shouts, catching Styles’ attention. “We’ve got a match tonight. A match where I could take that title from you. And you’re gonna put that in jeopardy by trying to fight some new guy on the block?!”

Styles glares at him. “I don’t want to hear it, Kurt. The mood I’m in? You better bring your best tonight because you’re gonna need it if you plan on taking my title.

Angle’s eyes narrow, his intensity matching Styles’. “I’ve been waiting since November for this shot, AJ. Nothing, and no one, is gonna stop me from taking that belt tonight.”

They stare at each other, neither one backing down.

Global Champion
Eric Young storms into Kevin Nash’s locker room. Nash, standing close to Christy Hemme, turns his head slightly, not seeming too concerned by Young. He’s mid-conversation with her, their closeness says enough.

Where the hell were you earlier!?” Young shouts.

Nash turns fully to face him. “Christy, could you give us a minute?” he asks. Hemme nods, and glances between the two men before slipping out of the room.

As soon as the door shuts behind her, Nash steps forward, towering over Young. “What’s your problem, man? Stop being such a block.

Young blinks, confused for a moment. “A block? What are you….no, never mind that. I was trying to get us into the four-way number one contenders match! We could’ve had a shot at the Tag Team gold!

Nash chuckles. “You think I want to be Tag Champs with you?

Young’s face falls. “I thought we were friends.

Nash grins, shaking his head. “Hogan’s here now. Maybe someone else is coming. The point is, I’ve got enough friends, kid.”

Without another word, Nash brushes past him, leaving Young standing alone in the empty locker room.

Samoa Joe
makes his way out for the slaughter(I swear I meant match) of Dr. Stevie(who’s already in the ring waiting). He looks just as focused and angry as ever. Raven is sitting at ringside as Daffney paces back and forth. Neither looks concerned. Stevie in the ring however…

- Match Three -
Singles Match

Samoa Joe versus Dr. Stevie w/Raven and Daffney

Stevie tries to avoid Joe for a moment, delaying the inevitable. Joe eventually gets his hands on him and just DESTROYS him. It’s quick, but it’s not painless. Joe is out here to make a statement apparently. He even takes the time to toss Stevie into the corner and rake his forearm across his face. Stevie screams for help, and Joe looks out at Raven, who stands up! Raven isn’t looking at Joe though, he’s glaring at Stevie. Stevie reaches out through the ropes and pleads for help, by Raven shakes his head in disgust and walks away! He’s leaving! Raven starts walking up the entrance way. Daffney follows slightly, and screams, wanting to know what’s going on! Raven glances back at her, then keeps walking out. Daffney looks shook, she looks back at Stevie, then back at Raven…and follows! STEVIE IS ALL ALONE! Joe smirks and as Stevie tries to pull himself out of the ring to safety, Joe pulls him back..right into the Coquina Clutch! Stevie taps put immediately.

Samoa Joe defeated Dr. Stevie by submission (1:27)

Before she can finish, ODB grabs the mic right out of her hand. “Controversy?!” ODB laughs. “There wunt no controversy! And you,” she points at Hemme, “need to take off some of that makeup that’s weighin’ down your head and keepin’ you from usin’ your damn brain!

Hemme looks shocked, her eyes wide as ODB continues, “I won that tournament fair and square, and the fact that I gotta face Kong again tonight is just plain stupid. Matter of fact, I shouldn’t even be wastin’ my time talkin’ to you right now. I should be preparin’ for my ma—

Without waiting for a response, Raven turns and walks out of the building. Daffney hesitates for a moment, her face torn with conflict, before she quickly sprints after him.

Backstage, Jeff Hardy and the X Division Champion Amazing Red are standing near a row of lockers.

Amazing Red : I gotta be honest with you, Jeff. I was really hoping you’d win that number one contenders match earlier tonight.

Jeff Hardy : Yeah? Why’s that?

Amazing Red : It’s always been a dream of mine to face you, man. Ever since I got into this business.

Jeff Hardy : I wish I had too, but… Homicide, man. He got the better of the situation.

Amazing Red : Yeah, I saw that. But hey, I got an idea. If you’re into it, I’ll talk to Hogan. Maybe next week, you and me… one-on-one on Impact!

Jeff Hardy : Hell yeah. You know I’m down for that.”

Suddenly, the sound of slow clapping stops their conversation. Homicide steps into frame, fake laughing as he approaches. He glares at Hardy before shifting his attention to Red.

Homicide : Wish for whatever you want, man. But guess what? I won tonight. And at Genesis? I’m walking out a two-time X Division Champion.

Homicide smirks and walks away, while Hardy and Red exchange glances.

Somewhere else backstage, Mr. Anderson is walking through a hallway. He walks up to a door labeled “Hulk Hogan”. He smirks and goes to walk in, just as Desmond Wolfe swings the door open and looks angry as hell.

They stare at each other for a few seconds too long before Anderson tells Wolfe to move. Wolfe scoffs, and says he guesses that’s what happens around here now, Anderson walks in and gets WHATEVER he wants. Anderson laughs and says he’s glad Wolfe gets it, and tells him to move again.

Desmond Wolfe : Listen here, do you even know who I am? I have been killing it here in TNA ever since I walked in, I went through Three Degrees Of Pain with Kurt Angle at Final Resolution and I’l- - -

Mr. Anderson : And you didn’t win. Listen kid, you can talk all you want Dante, it is Dante right? Doesn’t matter. At the end of the day, if you’re not winning, you’re not worth the time. Clearly Hogan thinks the same cause…I haven’t seen you tonight. When’s your segment big dog?

Wolfe looks like he might start swinging, but storms off before things escalate. Anderson looks on for a few seconds smiling, then walks through the door and into Hogan’s office.

The camera cuts to the commentary table where Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay, and Taz break down the tense situations going on backstage. Taz says he’s pumped for
Amazing Red versus Jeff Hardy next week if it is made official. Tenay brings up that the new number one contender Homicide did not seem as excited. Tenay then brings up that Mr. Anderson does not seem to be getting off on the right foot with many, already getting into it with AJ Styles AND Desmond Wolfe, and his first night isn’t even over! Schiavone brings up that some might not like him, but you can’t argue with facts, and the fact is that Anderson has a shot at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship Genesis!

*STAMPEDE*

The always angry Rhino makes his way out to the ring. Commentary brings up that at Final Resolution, Rhino was on the losing side of an eight man tag team match. Team 3D might be away for the night in NJPW, but Tonight Rhino is here and he’s looking to avenge his loss.

*COMING ALIVE*

Speaking of the eight man tag, one of the members of the winning team, Suicide, makes his way out to the ring! The crowd cheers as the high flyer appears to show no fear…Taz brings up that it’s a mistake on Suicide’s part, there’s nothing more dangerous than a beast trying to survive, and that’s the way Rhino is gonna be coming off a loss at the pay per view.

- Match Four -
Singles Match

Rhino versus Suicide

Taz was right, as Rhino takes the fight right to Suicide, but Suicide isn’t going to stand around and be a punching bag, he uses his speed to avoid Rhino and springboards right into…Rhino’s arms! Rhino catches Suicide and smashes him to the mat with a power slam. Rhino dominates Suicide for a few minutes, with Suicide showing quick flashes of offence, before getting smashed down again. The end of the match comes when Rhino goes for a GORE but Suicide quickly avoids it, then rolls Rhino up for a surprise pinfall victory!

Suicide defeated Rhino by pinfall (4:50)

Rhino can’t believe what happened, and he rolls out to the floor, looking shocked. Suicide looks around the ring, sees that he’s alone in the middle of the ring, then stares directly at the camera. He shouts something but the mask muffles it. He then reaches towards the back of his mask, Taz shouts “What’s he doing here, is Suicide about to take off his mask!?”. Before he can though, Rhino gets back into the ring without him knowing, and Rhino is ready for the gore. Suicide hears the crowd and turns, just in time to see D’Angelo Dinero fly over the top rope and take out Rhino before he could strike!

Dinero pummels Rhino into the corner before hitting him with the 4-Up punch combo, sending Rhino to the floor! Suicide is still standing dead center of the ring when Dinero comes over and raises both their hands in victory! Dinero only poses for a moment before glancing over at Rhino who’s trying to make his way to the back. Dinero reaches outside the ring and is handed a microphone.

D’Angelo Dinero : Hey, hey big man! Don’t go to far, I got something you need to hear! See, that 4-upside that thick dome of yours was just a taste! Yeah just a taste of what’s to come. See, Final Resolution there was 8 of us in that ring, I couldn’t spend the necessary time teaching you a lesson in respect. Then tonight, you try to jump my boy from behind? Ain’t no way. So what I propose, is at Genesis, me and you, we go to war big man. Whattya say?!

Rhino stares on from the entrance way as commentary shouts that this is a MASSIVE CHALLENGE from Dinero!

1728919888066-png.86508

Back from the break, a promo airs hyping up the return of Bobby Lashley. It shows highlights from his Last Man Standing match against Scott Steiner at Final Resolution while Lashley narrates and says that he’s just getting started here in TNA. The promo ends with the words LASHLEY. TWO WEEKS AWAY. Appearing on the screen.

The camera cuts to backstage where Christy Hemme is standing by with Knockouts Champion
Tara. Tara has a twitch, but she still manages to answer when Christy asks who she thinks is going to win the match tonight between Awesome Kong and ODB. Tara says that her destiny has always been to be Knockouts Champion and now that she is, no one, will take the championship from her.

*TRAILER TRASH*

ODB
’s music hits, and she comes out from behind the curtain, her signature flask in hand. She takes a swig and lets out a wild yell, smacking herself in the chest then making her way down the ramp. Her energy is chaotic as she rolls into the ring, climbing the turnbuckle pose before hopping down and pacing in the ring.

*KONG*

Awesome Kong
steps through the curtain, and she doesn’t look happy. Screwed out of a Knockouts Championship match last week, Kong walks slowly but purposefully down the ramp, her eyes locked on ODB. She barely acknowledges the crowd. Kong steps onto the apron and climbs through the ropes. She stands tall in the center of the ring, glaring at ODB, who also doesn’t back down.

- Match Five-
Singles Match

ODB versus Awesome Kong

As the bell rings, ODB bounces on her toes, circling Kong, trying to gauge how to approach the massive powerhouse. She charges in, looking to lock up, but Kong simply shoves her back, sending ODB stumbling across the ring. ODB shakes it off and charges again, but Kong’s power is too much. She grabs ODB and slams her to the mat with a huge body slam, leaving ODB dazed.

Kong stays on the offensive, lifting ODB by her hair and throwing her into the corner. Kong rushes in with a crushing body splash, squashing ODB between her and the turnbuckles. ODB slumps down, gasping for breath as Kong stands over her, a menacing smirk on her face.

ODB, showing her toughness, pulls herself up by the ropes. She reaches into her top and sneaks a quick drink from her flask, trying to muster some energy. The referee misses it, and ODB wipes her mouth, suddenly ready to fight again! She ducks a clothesline from Kong and lands a series of quick forearms, but Kong seems barely phased.

ODB bounces off the ropes and charges at Kong again, this time hitting a dropkick to the knees, causing Kong to stagger. ODB chops Kong’s chest with a loud slap! She lands a few more before bouncing off the ropes, trying to take Kong down with a running shoulder tackle. Kong barely budges.

ODB, frustrated but determined, tries another running attack, but this time Kong catches her mid-run, hoisting her up for a massive powerslam. The ring shakes on impact, and Kong goes for the cover for a two count.

Kong looks frustrated as she pulls ODB to her feet again, setting her up for the Implant Buster. But ODB fights out of it, wriggling free and raking Kong’s eyes when the referee isn’t looking. Kong stumbles, momentarily blinded. ODB seizes the opportunity and rolls out of the ring, grabbing her flask again. She takes another swig, hiding it from the referee, and slips something else metallic out her cleavage…brass knuckles.

The crowd boos as ODB slides back into the ring, brass knuckles hidden in her hand. She waits for Kong to come at her, ready to strike with a cheap shot. ODB swings with the knuckles, but Kong grabs her arm just in time, stopping the punch cold. The crowd erupts as Kong glares at ODB.

With a roar, Kong yanks ODB toward her and hoists her up into the air. She slams her down with a Implant Buster! ODB lies motionless as Kong hooks the leg for the pin.

Awesome Kong defeated ODB by pinfall (4:17)

Awesome Kong stands tall over ODB. She glances down at her fallen opponent before raising her hand in victory. ODB rolls out of the ring, clutching her back. On commentary, the three man team questions whether or not this will impact ODB’s title shot at Genesis?

The camera cuts to backstage in, presumably, Hulk Hogan’s office where Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash are seated, deep in conversation. The door suddenly bursts open, and majoritshareholder Mick Foley storms in.

Mick Foley : Would you look at that. Just like old times. You planning to run TNA out of business too, Hulk? Gonna give Nash here a world title shot?

Nash chuckles, leaning back in his chair with a smirk.

Kevin Nash : If I was getting a title shot, Mick, I would’ve earned it.

Nash stands, glaring at Foley,

Kevin Nash : Maybe you should watch your mouth.

Nash brushes past Foley on the way out. Foley barely glances at him, his eyes fixed on Hogan. Hogan exhales, clearly irritated, crossing his arms as he faces Foley.

Hulk Hogan : What do you want, Mick?

Mick Foley : I’ve worked for a lot of people, Hulk. Been in business with a lot of people. When it was announced that you were coming to TNA, I was optimistic.

Foley gets louder.

Mick Foley : Then I talked to Jeff Jarrett. Talked to Sting. And they both had some… glaringly harsh things to say. Now, I come in here, and what do I see? Looks like they were right. Hogan and Nash, bands back together.

Hogan narrows his eyes, and he stands up and walks towards Foley.

Hulk Hogan : Not that I need to explain myself to anyone, but me and Nash were just catching up. As for everything else I’m doing here in TNA? I’m trying to help. I want to get eyes on the talent that’s been busting their asses for years.

Foley scoffs, a sarcastic laugh escaping him.

Mick Foley : Is that what you were doing when you brought in Mr. Anderson and handed him a title shot on a silver platter?

Hogan is pissed.

Hulk Hogan : The only reason you’re still standing here is because you’re a shareholder. But don’t come in here and accuse me of trying to bury everything I came here to help. That’s crossing the line, Foley.

Foley chuckles then shakes his head.

Mick Foley : We’ll see, Hulk. We’ll see where your actions lead us.

He turns on his heel and walks out, leaving Hogan fuming in his office.

As the show returns from commercial, the camera pans over the electric crowd. On one side of the ring, UFC fighters Nate Diaz and Chael Sonnen are seen enjoying the action. The camera then cuts to the opposite side, where UFC President Dana White is seated alongside Randy Couture. They’re accompanied by TNA President Dixie Carter and Brooke Hogan. Standing near them with a microphone in hand is Tony Schiavone, ready to interview.

How are you all feeling about tonight so far?” Schiavone asks.

Dixie, all smiles, responds, “I couldn’t be happier with how tonight is going! I’m thrilled that UFC President Dana White made the trip out here!

Tony turns to Dana, asking, “Dana, how are you enjoying the show?

Dana nods, smiling. “I’m here to promote UFC Fight Night 20, Maynard versus Diaz airing right here on Spike TV, January 11th. But, honestly, this show has been incredible. Hulk Hogan and TNA really know how to bring it. Plus, I’m looking forward to seeing Kurt Angle in action!” Before Tony can get a word out to Randy Couture..

*MENACING*

The music of Desmond Wolfe blares through the arena. The mood shifts as Wolfe storms down to the ring, looking furious. He strides up to Schiavone, snatches the microphone from his hand, and barks, “Go back behind the table where you belong!”

Schiavone steps aside as Wolfe turns his attention to Dana White. “Looks like no one in this world came to see me, huh? That’s bull. I went 30 minutes in a steel cage with Kurt Angle at Final Resolution. I took an Olympic gold medalist to his limit. Tell me, Dana, when’s the last time you were in a fight like that? Actually, when was the last time you were in a fight at all?

Before Dana can respond, Wolfe cuts him off again. “You should be glad you’re even here, because nobody wants to hear about UFC right now! I could take any fighter from your roster, any day, any—

Suddenly, Randy Couture steps forward, placing himself between Dana and Wolfe. Wolfe locks eyes with Couture. For a moment, Wolfe stops, fear flickering across his face, but he quickly tries to brush it off, “I’m not gonna fight an old man like you, Couture.”

Couture just smirks, unbothered.

Brooke Hogan, enraged, yells at Wolfe, “You need to leave!

Wolfe snaps back. “If I wanted your mouth running, I’d let you know.”

Brooke’s face turns red, livid, and she starts to climb over the barricade, ready to charge at Wolfe. Security rushes in, holding her back. The crowd goes wild as Hulk Hogan storms out, more security in tow. He looks furious, pointing at Wolfe and shouting for him to back off. The security team surrounds Wolfe, forcing him to retreat toward the back as Hogan continues to shout.

The camera cuts to the commentary desk with Mike Tenay, Taz, and Tony Schiavone. The camera zooms in on the trio, looking to regain control of the show.

Mike Tenay : What a night we’ve had so far, and we’re not done yet, folks! But before we get to our main event, let’s shift gears and talk about Genesis, just one week from this Sunday. The official theme song for the event is ‘Lie to Me’ by Like a Storm, and trust me, it’s the perfect track to set the tone for this pay-per-view.

Taz : Oh, yeah, Tenay, that track is a banger! Gets you pumped up just thinking about it! And speaking of being pumped, let’s check out the matches we’ve got lined up.

A graphic appears on screen highlighting Amazing Red defending the X-Division Championship.

Tony Schiavone : That’s right, Amazing Red will be putting the X-Division Championship on the line against the winner of that incredible six-man match from earlier tonight—Homicide! What a match that’s going to be!

The graphic shifts to Taylor Wilde and Sarita defending the Knockouts Tag Team Championships.

Taz : And check this out, Taylor Wilde and Sarita will defend the Knockouts Tag Team Championships against The Beautiful People! Can these two dynamic champions hold off one of the most iconic teams in the division?

The graphic switches to British Invasion vs. Beer Money Inc.

Mike Tenay : But that’s not all! The British Invasion will defend their World Tag Team Titles against the new number one contenders, Beer Money Inc. And, Taz, if that wasn’t enough, Beer Money will have none other than Ric Flair in their corner!

Taz : You kidding me? The Nature Boy? Are you serious? That’s like having a loaded weapon ringside!

The graphic changes to Rhino vs. D’Angelo Dinero in a Street Fight.

Tony Schiavone : Just made official a few moments ago, Rhino will go one-on-one in a Street Fight against D’Angelo Dinero! This one’s gonna be physical! No rules, no limits!

The graphic transitions to the Knockouts Championship triple threat.

Mike Tenay : And in a match that was also made official just moments ago! After Awesome Kong’s dominant showing against ODB, the Knockouts Championship match at Genesis will now be a triple threat! Tara will defend her title against ODB and Kong!

Taz : That’s gonna be pure chaos, Tenay. You put those three in the same ring, and anything can happen!

The graphic changes one final time to Mr. Anderson and a blank space.

Tony Schiavone : And we can confirm Mr. Anderson is official for Genesis, but who will he face? It’ll be the winner of tonight’s main event Kurt Angle or AJ Styles!

Mike Tenay : What a stacked card we’ve got so far for Genesis, but the action tonight is far from over! The main event is coming up next, Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles! The winner, is TNA World Heavyweight Champion and will face Mr. Anderson at Genesis!”

Tony Schiavone : It’s been an action packed night full of surprises, and folks, we’re not done yet! Stick around, because this main event is going to be something special!

The Impact Zone is electric, the energy in the air at an all time high as the crowd eagerly anticipate the main event: AJ Styles defending his TNA World Heavyweight Championship against the Olympic gold medalist, Kurt Angle.

*GOLD MEDAL*

The familiar sound of Kurt Angle’s theme song hits. The crowd erupts as Angle steps onto the stage, determined. He stands tall, draped in his trademark red, white, and blue gear, his gold medal around his neck. The Olympic Hero marches down the ramp, his eyes locked on the ring, not once acknowledging the fans, because tonight, it’s all business. He’s here to reclaim the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

As he climbs the steps and enters the ring, Angle wastes no time. He walks to the ropes, stretching and preparing his body. The crowd continues to roar as he bounces on his toes, looking across the ring, awaiting his opponent.

*GET READY TO FLY*

AJ Styles, the reigning TNA World Heavyweight Champion, steps onto the stage, his belt strapped firmly around his waist. His gaze is intense, but he acknowledges the fans with a confident nod as they chant his name. Styles wears a blue and black hooded vest, and as he approaches the ring, he flips the hood back. He slaps hands with some fans at ringside, but it’s clear tonight is about more than just putting on a show, it’s about proving he’s the best in the world.

Styles climbs the turnbuckle, unstraps his title, and raises it high above his head, getting a massive pop from the crowd. He takes a look around the crowd for a brief moment, then jumps down, locking eyes with Kurt Angle. The intensity in the ring is undeniable. The referee stands between them, raising the TNA World Heavyweight Championship in the air.

TNA World Heavyweight Championship
AJ Styles versus Kurt Angle

The bell rings, and immediately, both men circle the ring cautiously. They lock up in the center, Angle using his amateur wrestling background to quickly transition into a side headlock. Styles pushes Angle off into the ropes, and the Olympic Hero barrels through him with a shoulder block, sending Styles to the mat. Angle wastes no time, as he tries to control the pace early on with a series of takedowns and holds. But AJ, always resourceful, flips out of an arm drag and counters with a crisp dropkick, sending Angle staggering back.

Both men get to their feet and the crowd cheers knowing they’re in for something special. They go at it again, this time with quicker exchanges. AJ’s speed and agility versus Angle’s technical mastery. Styles hits the ropes and nails a flying forearm, but Angle rolls to the outside to catch his breath. AJ wastes no time, launching himself over the top rope with a perfect plancha, crashing onto Angle!

Back inside the ring, Styles capitalizes with a series of kicks to the legs and midsection of Angle, softening him up. He looks to go for a suplex, but Angle reverses, snapping Styles over with a textbook belly-to-belly suplex. Styles clutches his back in pain as Angle begins to work over the champion with suplexes, submission holds, and stiff strikes that slow the pace and keep AJ grounded.

The match continues at a grueling pace. Every time AJ starts to build momentum, Angle cuts him off, targeting the back and neck. Angle works Styles into the corner and drives vicious shoulder blocks into his midsection before lifting him for a devastating German suplex. He rolls through, delivering two more in succession, showing off his insane strength and control. The crowd can sense this is anyone’s match.

Angle, sensing he’s in control, goes for the Ankle Lock, but AJ scrambles to the ropes, grabbing them just in time. The ref forces a break, and Angle, though frustrated, knows he’s wearing the champion down. He hoists AJ onto his shoulders, looking for an Angle Slam, but Styles wriggles free, landing on his feet. AJ delivers a Pele Kick that catches Angle square on the head, sending him stumbling backward.

AJ sees his opening and begins to mount his comeback, hitting Angle with a series of rapid-fire strikes. A spinning back fist, followed by a clothesline, takes Angle down. AJ hits a springboard 450 splash, and the crowd explodes, thinking it might be over, but Angle kicks out at two! Both men are running on fumes now, but they refuse to let up.

Towards the end of the match the pace quickens again as Styles attempts a Styles Clash, but Angle powers out, flipping AJ over his shoulder. Angle immediately locks in the Ankle Lock, and AJ is screaming in pain in the middle of the ring. He claws desperately for the ropes, but Angle drags him back to the center, tightening his grip. The crowd is on their feet, wondering if this could be it for Styles.

Just as AJ looks like he might tap, Mr. Anderson suddenly appears, making his way down to the ring with a smirk on his face. Angle briefly takes his eyes off Styles, confused by Anderson’s presence. The distraction is enough for AJ to twist out of the hold, sending Angle crashing into the turnbuckle shoulder first.

Anderson doesn’t physically interfere, but his presence distracts Angle just long enough for Styles to recover. AJ capitalizes, quickly pulling Angle to his feet and setting him up. With a burst of energy, Styles lifts Angle and plants him with the Styles Clash in the middle of the ring!

The referee slides into position as Styles covers Angle.

AJ Styles defeated Kurt Angle by pinfall (19:32)

The bell rings, and AJ Styles rolls off Angle, clutching his title as the victor. The fans cheer, but there’s a mixed reaction as they realize that Mr. Anderson’s distraction played a key role in the outcome. Anderson stands at ringside, grinning, seemingly satisfied with the chaos he caused, while Styles, still catching his breath, stares at him with a mixture of confusion and frustration.

Kurt Angle lies on the mat, visibly upset, knowing he had the match in his grasp before Anderson’s distraction.AJ gets up and stands tall, his hand raised by the referee, still the TNA World Heavyweight Champion, but the air of controversy hangs heavy as Anderson backs up the ramp, leaving both AJ and the fans with more questions than answers.

I hounded you to post this for long enough that it’s only fair I leave some comments. Tony Schiavone joining the commentary team is cool to make this show stand out even more, and I appreciated the extra effort in the commentary run down to start the show.

Fun match to open the show with the X Division number one contender’s match and another cool moment with Jeff Hardy’s debut. Honestly surprised he didn’t pick up the win, but a long term Homicide/Hardy feud could be fun, so I actually like the way this one panned out. Homcide/Red should also be a hell of a lot of fun at Genesis too.

Perfectly acceptable interview from AJ here. I like that he gave the X Division guys their flowers before moving on to his stuff. Makes it feel important. Also ticked the boxes of hyping the main event with Angle tonight and the masked man stuff.

Samoa Joe video package? Yes please.

Our first Hogan sighting.. Here we go.

CAT FIGHT~! Not much from Wilde and Sarita until The Beautiful People got involved. A pretty solid segment here, with the heels announcing their title shot, before the champs got in with the zinger about being on their backs. Again, solid stuff to set up the tag title match at the PPV.

Short and sharp from British Invasion, which is fine, it got the point across. Happy with the name change for Magnus to.

Team 3D back in two weeks? Cool.

Again, can’t fault the booking and the decision on who to make number one contenders for the tag titles. Beer Money is the most interesting option out of the team here, and I’m kind of hoping they win the tag titles at Genesis.

Ric Flair? Wooooooooooooooooooo.

Don’t envy you for having to build a PPV card in two weeks, tbh.

Didn’t necessarily expect Flair to communicate with Beer Money. A fine enough conversation, but I’m interested as to whether there’s more to this.

Hogan promo time to be expected, and I’ll compliment you because he sounded earnest and honest when talking about his reasons for being here. Hogan’s comment about the new signee taking AJ’s title in a heartbeat wasn’t a figure of speech at all, so I’m glad AJ came out and called him on it. Not sure if Hogan’s comment was supposed to be a little more subtle than this from your perspective, but when I read it, I thought wow, blatant disrespect to the champ. Love AJ coming out and also defending the locker room. Hogan signing a new star and giving them a title shot is basically a contradiction to the locker room compliment he previously delivered so that’s very interesting as well. Mr. Anderson is a quality signee for sure, as this was him at his peak. Good promo from him, setting up the match, loved his arrogance around the contract talk. Maybe you’re rushing because you’ve only got two weeks of build here but I didn’t think the slap was necessary. Felt rushed and a little out of place, but overall digging the direction here.

Sting at Genesis? Works for me.

Love Angle taking exception at Styles being distracted with Anderson and not focusing on him. Awesome follow up.

Nash trying to get it in with Hemme, let’s go~! Also Nash ditching Young now that some of his old buddies will be showing up is a dick move, but typical Nash. I like it.

Not going to complain with Joe looking like a savage here. Good shit.

ODB promo was fine, especially the ownage of Hemme.

Raven and Daffney ditching Stevie is interesting. Curious to see if Raven finds new followers. Please use Raven well in here.

Enjoyed the segment between Hardy, Red and Homicide. Following on my comments earlier, feels like the bigger picture here will be Homicide and Hardy and I’m all for that.

Poor Desmond Wolfe. Anderson made him look like a chump here lol, but it works. Anderson’s the big player right now and needs to look the part.

Didn’t necessarily expect Suicide to beat Rhino here. Was he just about to unmask? That’s certainly interesting and something I’ll keep an eye on. The stuff with Dinero and Rhyno seems solid enough, with basic challenge here.

Lashley? Cool. Also need some Scott Steiner promo goodness at some point please.

Tara promo was fine to promote the pending women’s match. I’m a little shocked at ODB getting demolished like this. Not a good look for the number one contender. Assuming Kong will get added to the match, otherwise this is a real trivial decision.

Enjoyed the fired up Foley having a go at Hogan. Basically everything Foley says feels right so intrigued to see where this ends up. I hope we don’t get into a battle of authority figures type stuff right out of the gate. Would be to soon, but I did enjoy this segment. Foley was good.

I’d be down for something of a working relationship between TNA and UFC due to their Spike affiliations. Desmond Wolfe coming in and causing trouble here was good. Smart way you set the scene earlier with Anderson calling out that Hogan didn’t think Wolfe was a big deal. Very well crafted to make this interruption work.

Main event was good. Shocked that Angle looked to potentially have this sewn up, if not for the momentary distraction from Anderson. AJ retaining here obviously makes sense after the AJ/Anderson segment earlier and looking forward to that match. No masked man appearance tonight? Cool. And I’m guessing you might be going down a similar path to real life and giving us Angle/Anderson post Genesis? I’m down for that if that’s what happens.

A pretty solid first show here. I enjoyed it, although considering it was three hours long, maybe we’ve could have snuck in one more big surprise or return or something as a lot of the show just felt like a ‘normal’ show. Assuming they’d want to go all out for this one? I don’t know. Still enjoyed this though, although the lack of Val Venis brings it down a little, to be honest.

TNA iMPACT - January 4, 2010:

With all different kinds of potential a TNA 2010 project has, I'm glad to see this come back. I was watching a lot of TNA in the lead-up to Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff coming aboard, although I'll be damned if I don't admit I tuned out within a couple of weeks. What a waste of potential that whole idea had. That in mind, looking up and down the roster there were things I liked back then and things I didn't like.
I don't think that Tony Schiavone is needed in 2010, and I don't believe his head was in the wrestling mind at that time. Mike Tenay and Taz made for a solid enough duo, and while I like the conversational chemistry afforded of a three-man booth, I don't think it ever did TNA much good when they utilized that.

It's very clear you have some plans for Generation Me coming off their placing in the Number One Contender's match on the 1/4 iMPACT. I liked AJ Styles intruding on Hulk Hogan's big signing, although it was disappointing it was only Mr. Anderson who came in. Nonetheless, it was a great angle to spur talk going into Genesis, which unfortunately is merely a few weeks away. Never did like the mid-January placement of those Genesis shows.

One does have to wonder what you have left in store for Sting, as I believe the old Crow Sting legacy honeymoon died when the Main Event Mafia angle began. One can only reinvent that wheel so many times. I wouldn't mind seeing an angle more centered on the man behind the facepaint. One that plays on Steve Borden and what drives him to keep getting in the ring would be a compelling storyline.

I am glad we're not seeing all of the Hogan recruits rushed in. As someone who loved Dr. Stevie though, I genuinely hope we see more of him. Raven in 2010 is a paradoxical existence, though maybe you'll prove to me otherwise.

Jeff Hardy in the X-Division is a curious angle, and given how the X-Division has been treated in recent times, I believe it could empower it to the glory it once held. I still think Hardy might be better fared up the card, but this could be a proving spot for him while he rebounds from his recent arrest the previous fall. I could have maybe gone without the UFC cameo, but it's synergy and we are on Spike TV after all. Rightfully so, it's evident Desmond Wolfe is someone you have plans for.
The main event was strong, and AJ Styles retaining the TNA World Heavyweight Championship against Kurt Angle made sense. I was surprised to see Kurt lose as cleanly as he did, Mr. Anderson and all. Maybe it sets up something with Kurt and Anderson, who I'm unsure is a face or a heel at this stage of the game.

Strong start after a long wait, and much as needed we've got most of the card for Genesis already established. One week of build to go, I guess!
