The Headbangers returning to SmackDown Live?

Glenn Ruth, a.k.a Thrasher of the tag team The Headbangers, noted that the former Tag Team Champions will be returning to WWE television on SmackDown Live next Tuesday.



Interestingly enough, The Headbangers may be the eighth team in the SmackDown Tag Team Championship Tournament. Including the teams already announced, the addition of the team of Heath Slater and Rhyno only made seven official teams.

The Headbangers debuted in the WWF in 1996 and were mainstays on television throughout the late 1990's. The team reunited in 2011 and have made rounds on the independent circuit ever since. We will have more details as they become available.

I'd expect Sami being groomed to be one of the faces of the new Cruiserweight division. Owens is main eventing and fighting for the Universal Championship. Headbangers are too amazing not to be booked.
