Who cares if ECW gets scrapped?

I do. It is the only brand that I actually look forward to watch each week.

I don't really believe the lack of hardcore is the problem, but even if it was, putting talent through hardcore matches often would cause injuries.

But its the talent in ECW you like right? Punk and Burke would be moved to SD in the event that a fold of ECW takes place, so it wouldn't matter, plus they get more exposure.

I agree that a lack of "hardcore" matches isn't the problem. The problem is (and I've beaten this to death), that 3 brands is way too much. Casual fans (which most of WWE's hardcore fanbase is made up of), aren't going to watch three programs a week. They figure they can drop one, so subsequently they drop what they consider to be the least important-ECW.

It just really wasn't a good idea from the beggining, nor was the brand split in general. Either way, if ECW does fold, we'll see the top guys get quickly moved to SD.

I would like to see a SD/ECW merge, I don't know if wrestlers can stay healthy after a hardcore match, especially since so many wrestlers are hurting right now.

Um, the only reason for the merging of talent and the new announcement of ECW to air on WWE.com on Wednesday's is because the sci-fi deal is not going to get renewed and until the WWE can find a new deal for ECW they need to make sure the brand is still watchable. So, people who have great internet access can watch it on WWE.com, and in the mean time ECW will piggy back on Smackdown as well so that the fans can still see there fav ECW stars on TV if they don't have net access. ECW isn't going away, as always your all reading too much into this. WWE will shop ECW around for a new TV deal. If they were smart they would try to see if they can fill an empty time slot on CW, since CW loves WWE and is happy with the product. Also CW would probably give them a 2 hour time slot for ECW as well, which since TNA fans believe that was the solution to all TNA's problems, it could potentially be for ECW as well...though I actually like ECW, and believe that the advantage to 2 hours would mean that casual fan would finally be able to perseve it as an equal brand to Raw & Smackdown.

well CW would only really have time for it on Saturdays which I don't think is the best time slot for any wrestling show

:roflmao: Thats all you ever bring up when you say that WWE is better than TNA. Ratings. You are pathetic.

Television ratings

Channel (timeslot) Avg. rating
FSN (Fri. 3pm) 0.2
Spike TV (Sat. 11pm) 0.8
Spike TV (Thu. 11pm) 0.9
Spike TV (Thu. 9pm) 1.0
Spike TV (Thu. 9pm; 2hrs) 1.1

I dont know about you, but thats progress. Cant say the same for your beloved ECW, as its abbout to be pulled from Sci-Fi

^i dont think when someone is stating real facts is considered as "pathetic"... so the real pathetic is the one who is trying to play rattle snake and change facts to look better or whatever.

So from that being said, the fact here is... WWE >>>>>TNA... end of story.

Hmm, bit of a work and a shoot at the same time i think. They're playing it off as kayfabe, but in reality if ECW wants to stay alive it would have to merge with something I guess. This could end up being very good for both brands.

Lol, what did you expect Peepshow, that the ratings where gonna be the same a Tuesday at 11pm than a Tuesday at 9pm.

^I really think he did. But Peep...you come into a perfectly good thread about WWE and ECW and you have to spread your TNA propaganda and try to make us believe stuff. WHO IN THE FUCK CARES ABOUT RATINGS? On ECW we can see good wrestling from Punk, Burke, Nitro, Kane, the SD guys, Thorn, and sometimes Dreamer.

Thorn is underrated. I say tuesday night smackdown (or saturday night smackdown) along with friday night smackdown. Then bring the European title back.
This merger is really interesting. I'd love to see where the WWE is going to be in one year. I wish i could hop in time and take a look at wikipedia's wwe roster page. It would answer alot of questions.
