Bryan Danielson is coming soon to WWE television, and personally, I am not that excited because I think they're gonna screw him up, but anyway, they could bring him out on ECW with a new name and crap new finisher, or I had an idea on how to debut him in a big way as himself...now I know everyone is gonna say "But 99% of WWE fans don't know who he is!!!" But isn't that more reason to keep him the same?

Bear with me here, one night on Raw, the announcers talk up a new guy coming in as an "underground legend" of sorts, claiming him as the best in the world, and WWE pays off ROH and a few indies for video of Dragon and Europe for "The Final Countdown" and put together a video of his greatest moments and moves, maybe shots of a few hundred people chanting his name, and play it on all three brands for weeks leading to his debut to build interest and intrigue.

Would that be better than randomly throwing him out to no fanfare and no heat? Thoughts?

While I think that would be a pretty good idea I don't think the WWE would have enough faith in him to be paying for the video and song and whatnot right from the start when they don't even know if Danielson will be over or not. They could do that and he could come out to no reaction then Vince would feel like an idiot so I don't see them doing something like that but myself, I would like that and think it would work well, Final Countdown would be awesome.

That is the point though, he could come out to no reaction, but why not give fans a reason to care about him from the start. A legend in the small time getting his shot at the big time gimmick has been used in movies, music and everything else, I don't see why they can't do it with Dragon. I don't know about you, but debuting him as telling everyone all the great things he's done has a way higher chance of getting him over than randomly throwing him out there as a nobody, at least from my perspective. It'll make the fans feel like they are apart of something cool and special if he rises up, and not just watching a young jobber move up like everyone else they've brought up from FCW, and he is different than those guys anyway. They could tell Dragon's true story, instead of making some campy WWE bullshit up, or telling nothing about him at all.

I totally see where your coming from. WWE should learn from the immediate heat Nigel...I mean "Desmond Wolfe" got on TNA. When WWE gets new talent nowadays they face jobbers every week and if their lucky face some mid carders and get over like Shemus. Danielson doesnt deserve that at all. If he goes to ECW, take over the show by beating up Regal and Christian. SD, take out taker. Raw, take out Cena. If they get rid of his cattle mutalation or MMA elbows imma be pissed

Well you know WWE will never bill him as "Former ROH competitor, Bryan Danielson." He'll come in with most likely a completely new name, WWE friendly move set and persona.
CM Punk was able to get over with the changes they mad to his character and wrestling style so it's really no excuse. I'm going to be perfectly honest, I've watched some videos of the guy and he really doesn't seem like anything special to me. In fact, he seems pretty damn generic so whatever make over WWE gives him may be a welcome one.
I'm not gonna shit on him before his debut and I can see what he can actually do and how they book him.

And @Mizmasta... you must be completely delusional if you think he's going to run over every major star in the company..lol. I guarentee you CM Punk is more over right now than this guy will probably ever be...and he still hasn't gone cleanly over any of those guys.

White boxes is all i see dude^^^.

Danielson is awesome if you have followed him in ROH like i did with punk and Desmond Wolfe. Knowing wwe though yeah they might shit over him but where will he go? If it is ecw he needs to target higher opponents. Why not take out hurricane for burchill this week on ecw. Then danielson take out ecw roster one by one? If he goes to raw or smackdown hes fucked already.

Well I don't know about running through Taker and Cena, but even if he beats up no namers for a little while, if they reference his indy history to an extent (I know they won't say "former ROH champ") they can make up a history for them as he beats them down. Or he has perfect feuds built in with HBK on Raw (Trainer), Regal on ECW (Trainer/friend), and Jericho on Smackdown ("Best in the world at what I do?" Hmm...) And btw, being a generic "real wrestler" is pretty much his gimmick...except he does it ten times better than everyone else. A great wrestler with no gimmick. =/ I really think if they just tell his real life story, that would be way more interesting for everyone than whatever the awful writing team can think up for him.

Nice idea, good to see some people have some imaginations.

Would never, ever happen. He'll most likely get the Colt Cabana treatment imo.

Lets give wwe one more chance with danielson. If they fuck him up then from then on we can say even if AJ styles was there he would be shit. But if wwe do carry it off then we got to say you never know with the wwe.

The idea of it sounds good, but I don't see it happening.

1. I don't see WWE mentioning his past in the Indies. If they do mention his past, It'll just be something that fits his new gimmic.

2. I don't see them pushing him that hard before he debuts. Video packages on all 3 brands? Being hyped on all 3 brands? No fucking way. Besides, in WWE's state of mind now a days (unless you have the big 5 pulling for you), if you don't get a reaction within a month, even if all the matches are agaisnt jobbers, you're on the back burner.

Because they didn't push Bourne for a while, because CM Punk isn't a big name now.
